Avatar n tn Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?
Avatar f tn I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.
Avatar f tn What does this sound like, and what can I do about it? I am a Type 2 Diabetic, and take Metformin, Januvia, and Zoloft for anxiety.
Avatar f tn Not sure if this is the same study, but I was also told it was funded by NIH. I had a MRI the day before surgery and will have another at my 12 week post-op appt. I was happy to participate, it is promising that more research is being done and CM is being taken seriously.

Avatar f tn 81 year old Mom on Glip/Metform 5-500 1 1/2 pills breakfast-lunch-dinner and 50mg Januvia breakfast and dinner. Can these be increased or is insulin next?
Avatar f tn I have Kaiser insurance and they only use NIH. I may have to appeal to use John Hopkins Pituitary Center if NIH fails to meet my requirements for expertise. My biggest fear is that it's a research/teaching hospital and a resident in training will be assisting in the operation. Has any one had pituitary tumor removal from NIH and can shed some light on their experience?
Avatar f tn Take your friend to the closest ER and have a real doctor treat your friend's wound. Then report the nursing home to the proper authorities in your area.
Avatar n tn Plus you could discuss changing meds. BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c ombines Metformin and Januvia. This may be helpful to you as well.
194838 tn?1303428544 Hi, I recently posted about severe side effects I was experiencing with the drug Januvia , I had severe stomach pains and sore throat. My doctor has now prescribed Galvus and said they are from the same family as Januvia. Has anybody tried this drug? if so did you experience any side effects ,especially stomach pains? . It may sound stupid but I am a little scared to take Galvus after what happened before.
572651 tn?1530999357 Imagine what progress could be made if everyone on March 17 drank just one less beer and donated that money to NIH or to NMSS for research. This also tells us how underfunded the NIH is for MS research. I've shared this thought over on my Facebook page and encourage all of you to share it as well, it helps to illustrate how our priorities need to shift. http://msactivist.blogspot.com/2012/03/federal-fridays_09.
Avatar f tn I was recommended to participate in clinical trials for PPMS by my neurologist at NIH. After getting the entire work-up again, the NIH team could not give me a PPMS dx because there were no lesions in my spine. So what should I do next?
