I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.

I take (2) 500mg of metformin at breakfast and supper. I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?

Actually, I would recommend you ask your Dr to check if you could possibly be type 1 diabetes. This can happen even in adults. Bottom line though, you need to get aggressive treatment (this is both low carb diet and appropriate meds) to get your sugars to a level closer to normal.

Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?

I'm a type II diabetic diagnosed this year with food allergies: corn, peanuts, soybeans, eggs and lettuce and various things in those families. That puts a great many "health" and low fat foods off my list and diabetic staples like eggs are a fond memory. I exercise every morning by walking 2 miles. I am a type 2 diabetic. I do not eat before exercise at five thirty every day. Hi Dalki, Yes, in time your doctor will likely know for sure which type of diabetes you have. In addition to Type 1 and Type 2, there seems to be a type 1.5 ... tho' there's some thought that 1.5s are just in the early stages of Type 1. We DMers (folks with diabetes mellitis) and our docs often call that a honeymoon phase. I hope you're feeling better now that your bloodsugar has begun to come down. Things may remain volatile for a while, so try to be patient with yourself.

Says because I have Clusters of AutoImmune Diseases I most likly have type 1 diabetes. This week He has run lost of test, blood, and heart tests and blood flow. My weight is 246, im 5 feet 5 inches tall. Right now im in a once a day Januvia100mg treatment. Have to admit i forget to take them often. My hubby says that if i domydiet well and exercise i can lower that but i am just afraid to use insulin. The range of my blood sugar is 150-300. If i get anxious that levels raises to 346. What can you tell me about this??
