I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.

While in the hospital for heart related problems my doctors found that I had the D word. I refuse to accept this as I have worked so hard to avoid having the D word. My Mom is having type-2 diabetes , her pre-lunch blood suger level is 178 & post-lunch 275. She is having join pain in legs due to which she feels trouble in walking & cannot stand for longer time. Well, there are a number causes for pain and cramping. But since you didn't specify an area of your body - abdomen, legs, arms, head, etc - your two best bets are; 1.) Google pain and cramping for ideas; 2) Go see a doctor. By the way, your glucose numbers look good, borderline high yet good.

I have been given Nexovas 10 in the morning too. My BP is 120/80 as per latest report. I am from the army Retd and 49 years. My weight is 87 and is on the higher side with hieght at 176. I have pain in the very upper back of my legs and the inside of my legs where the thigh meets the body. It began a few weeks ago. I am 64 and have been a type 2 diabetic for 5 years. I also have been treated for hypertension and high cholesterol levels since the age of 50. Hi, I recently posted about severe side effects I was experiencing with the drug Januvia , I had severe stomach pains and sore throat. My doctor has now prescribed Galvus and said they are from the same family as Januvia. Has anybody tried this drug? if so did you experience any side effects ,especially stomach pains? . It may sound stupid but I am a little scared to take Galvus after what happened before.
