Avatar f tn my defibrilator fired 8 times in 40 minutes as my heart was out of control) Normally I am a happy person, look on the bright side type of person and have met my heart problems head on with no pity parties and a very positive outlook. But the D word is totally embarressing and I am so very ashamed of having this disgusting disease. Does anyone have any words of advice and could someone let me know if I am eating enough food.
Avatar n tn I am 23 years old and for 2 years I have been diagnosed with bronchitis at least 10 times and pneumonia once . I've gone through breathing test and they saw I don't have asthma. The antibiotics only work for so long then I start getting sick again. My symptoms include a lot of pressure in my chest, have a unproductive cough, then I start to struggle to talk, I wheeze and become very hoarse, and struggle to swallow at times.
Avatar m tn For about a year now I have been dealing with some respiratory problems that I haven't been able to resolve. Basically, I have constant nasal congestion with post-nasal drip, which causes a lot of sneezing, coughing/ wheezing (as a result of so much phlegm), sinus headaches, and occasional sore throat. I have been to an allergist and tested low to very low an all allergins. I have seen an ENT and had a CAT scan.
Avatar f tn I cant breathe well, I do have allergies and sinus problems. No fever, little cough with copious amts of sputum. What else could this be?
Avatar n tn I take (2) 500mg of metformin at breakfast and supper. I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?

Avatar n tn I would love to have those numbers.. i have to workout like crazy and eat very little to get close to those and thats also with taking another med with the metformin. I would say something is very wrong with what they are trying to do.
Avatar f tn The levothyroxine has a long half-life within the blood and may also be withheld for 3 to 4 days without significant changes observed. The Januvia and blood pressure meds you shouldn’t mess around with, so the experiment may not be performed completely. . While you may think the diet has nothing to do with it, but I think investigating would be better than pure recall. You could try to make a log of things she eats and again try to make changes there depending on which foods seem suspect.
572651 tn?1530999357 We have had a few questions recently about breathing and the connection with respiratory problems and MS, as well as that ongoing question of "will we die from MS?" A very wonderful heart sister found this and passed it on - I thought it was worth while sharing. The entire paper can be accessed through the link by selecting the view PDF option. I hope you will find this of interest and make you want to get out there and work on exercising those lungs! Lulu http://www.ersj.org.
Avatar m tn He was admitted to the hospital, but they could not figure out what was wrong and sent him home - still with breathing problems. His doctor thinks/thought a flu bug was causing his breathing problems, but this isn't the flu. He's not particularly nauseous, and the breathing problems have now persisted for more than a week.
Avatar n tn Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?

Avatar n tn Just got out of hospital with flu and pneumonia, and still wheezing and taking breathing treatments. In January of this year, I had a colonoscopy and my doctor prescribed prilosec, which I did not take as I should. A friend of mine, who has bad lung problems, told me her lung doctor told her that acid reflux problems can spill over into your lungs, causing you many problems. I have begun, religiously, to take my Prilosec.
Avatar f tn I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.
Avatar f tn What does this sound like, and what can I do about it? I am a Type 2 Diabetic, and take Metformin, Januvia, and Zoloft for anxiety.

Avatar f tn techniques (however, my doctors have never been able to give me any I had to research and find them on my own). Once they problems with breathing start it lasts for hours, even days. It is frustrating and causes more anxiety and that causes the problem to get worse, or at the very least, not get any better. I am going to Convienient care in the morning, because I have been sitting here all night trying to breath effectively and can't.
Avatar n tn I have a very difficult time getting air past my inflamed voice box and experience inspiratory wheezing (or stridor?) with the dry barky cough, and sometimes a thick yellowish/greenish phlegm will be cleared from my throat. It's very scary feeling like my throat is closing up at times. I drink lots of water, use a humidifier and my albuterol inhaler (which I have for occasional mild asthma)...but that only seems to mildly help.
Avatar m tn A test with bronchodilators for 2-3 weeks will be useful to relieve the symptoms. Respiratory function tests before and after exercise is required. Other possibilities are central airway obstruction, parenchymal pulmonary disease, gastro esophageal reflux, coronary heart disease etc. Treatment with Beta-agonists with or without Cromoglycates and Inhaled glucocorticoids against prescription will help. I suggest you to consult physician. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. MANAGEMENT: During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and respiratory depression.
