I take (2) 500mg of metformin at breakfast and supper. I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?

My Mom is having type-2 diabetes , her pre-lunch blood suger level is 178 & post-lunch 275. She is having join pain in legs due to which she feels trouble in walking & cannot stand for longer time. Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?

While in the hospital for heart related problems my doctors found that I had the D word. I refuse to accept this as I have worked so hard to avoid having the D word. I was sent home with a monitor which I refuse to use (no fear of needles just using the monitor means acceptance). I am on Januvia 50 mg and Amaryl 1mg. My doctor told me to eat 3 meals a day plus a snack at bed time. I have lived by the Atkins diet and don't eat carbs and don't care for sweets.

I started the metformin at half the dosage since i am 13lbs lighter on friday night, today i am in severe abdominal pain, belching, horrible gas, nauseous, and vomiting which smells very acidic. Could this be too much ketones, or the medicine? My gallbladder is good, had (endoscopy and nuc med gastric emptying) was told i had mild gastritis due to reflux and mild gastroparisis. I have never felt this discomfort before.

hello every- my dad recently had a stress test that he failed- they sent him to get his arteries checked and found that two of them were clogged. he just got a stent placed and they gave him different medication. My dad already is a type 2 diabetic.

My other systems are, numbing in my left arm, pain in my left jaw and some pain in my back. My doctors continue to readjust my blood pressure medicine and says this should work… It has been a week since I was released from the hospital. The adjusting of my medicine is not working.. I have notified my doctor and another readjustment of medicine was made, it still isn't working. Does anyone have any clues of what is going on with me?

I have spasticity and quite a bit of pain in my knees. Most of the pain is along the side of my knee, but sometimes it's' up at the top of my knee in the muscles or whatever is above it.

I am just wondering how long it could take for a quad muscle to heal from a direct blow but with no bruising and if the weakness in the VMO muscle could cause my knee to pop and IT band to snap at times and cause pain in my pes anserine bursa. I did see a orthopedic who said he is not sure. X-rays were negative but I have a high deductable insurance so I am trying not to get an MRI.

Thanks for replying. My doctor has made no official diagnosis but asked me to bend and flex my knee and leg this way and that. She said that my knee joint is a bit loose. I'm getting an x ray to find out and physio but I'm still waiting on both of these letters to get to me. I'll use the codeine and I have laxatives at home. I've been drinking more water lately so a bit more might help.

I dislocated my knee cap badly a few weeks ago while i was on holiday. I was told by the specialist that i have snapped the ligaments and my leg was to be in a cast from thigh to ankle for 6 weeks before physio started if the ligaments healed, if they didnt heal i would need surgery to put fake ones in. After some 3 to 4 months later in the same area there is tinigling sensation develop, this tingling slowly progressive towards thigh region 1 yr back pain in the lateral aspect of the left popliteal fossa develop which is sharp and burning nature and radiating towards calf muscles.
