hello every- my dad recently had a stress test that he failed- they sent him to get his arteries checked and found that two of them were clogged. he just got a stent placed and they gave him different medication. My dad already is a type 2 diabetic.

my defibrilator fired 8 times in 40 minutes as my heart was out of control) Normally I am a happy person, look on the bright side type of person and have met my heart problems head on with no pity parties and a very positive outlook. But the D word is totally embarressing and I am so very ashamed of having this disgusting disease. Does anyone have any words of advice and could someone let me know if I am eating enough food.

I take (2) 500mg of metformin at breakfast and supper. I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?

i m asking as haw the use of sitaglipin help in conlrolling the sugar levels.

I would love to have those numbers.. i have to workout like crazy and eat very little to get close to those and thats also with taking another med with the metformin. I would say something is very wrong with what they are trying to do.

The levothyroxine has a long half-life within the blood and may also be withheld for 3 to 4 days without significant changes observed. The Januvia and blood pressure meds you shouldn’t mess around with, so the experiment may not be performed completely. . While you may think the diet has nothing to do with it, but I think investigating would be better than pure recall. You could try to make a log of things she eats and again try to make changes there depending on which foods seem suspect.

Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?

So here is the thing been diabetic for you a few months now and i have been through alot of pills and my doctor hasn't keeps upping them i seen him today and he gave me insulin to take.. but he still wants me to take all the pills is it to much it would be 1000mg metformin 2x a day 100mg januvia a day 4mg glilmapride 2x a day 20units of lantus this seems like so much what do you all think?

I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.

What does this sound like, and what can I do about it? I am a Type 2 Diabetic, and take Metformin, Januvia, and Zoloft for anxiety.

I have been put in the hospital 3 times within these 3 months. I get stress tests, ultrasounds, X-rays and blood work. All tests says I am not having a heart attack, but with my blood pressure being high it is making my left side of my heart to struggle and causing my heart walls to thicken.. That is why I am having chest pains. My other systems are, numbing in my left arm, pain in my left jaw and some pain in my back.

I have recently changed from Metformin 100 mg x 2, to Coreg 25 mf x 2, and I also take Adalat 60mg, Lisinopril 20 mg and Micardis 80mg. I take Metformin 850 x 3, Januvia 100mg (only for about the last two weeks) and just started on Avandia 4 mg for diabetes. My other meds are for thyroid, GERD, potassium, generalized dystonia (levodopa). Is this something I should be concerned about? I see my doctor in a week and a half, but do I need to contact her before then if this happens again?

i have done blood test on last month and my dibetologist asked me to take glucophage 500 on morning and januvia-100mg on night.after taking the same for 3 weeks my fasting sugar was under control.i m an IT professional.when i came to my work place ,bcz of work pressure and tensions ,my blood sugar level(fasting ) is getting high. is it possible to take tahe same with glucophage 500 mg and januvia 100mg on night? will give any issues?

I am diabetic with 136/166 respectively fasting and PP. I am on medication like Amryl M2 forte, Januvia 50 pre breakfast and Cetrapin XR 500 post dinner. Storevas 10 and cardace 2.5 post dinner. I have been given Nexovas 10 in the morning too. My BP is 120/80 as per latest report. I am from the army Retd and 49 years. My weight is 87 and is on the higher side with hieght at 176. I always took drinks in the evenings controlled. Kindly advice. I am off it since my liver is fatty as per USG.

I know januvia can cause joint pains. Did she have these pains bedore she started taking her meds? It can also be totally unrelated.

Hi Driven, you need to go through them and see for your self about the side effects, but there a lot of drugs out that cause ED as side effects, if yoiu dont now have your drug data sheets anymore just google them.

The pain is in both feet and ankles. I take five neurontin and a januvia every day because of postprandial high glucose numbers. I've had peripheral neuropathy and diabetes 2 for about 7 years now. I see a neurologist, endocrynologist, podiatrist and my primary doctor and so far no real answers.

I want to know if it will do harm to take both menications can i take januvia for diabetic and phentermine at the same time or will i get a reaction to the medication

Personally I take atenolol 100mg daily, losartan 25mg, and HCTZ 12.5mg , plus escitalopram 5mg daily, clonazepam, 0.5mg twice daily, metformin 1000mg am. ,januvia. 100mg am. crestor 10mg and metformin 500mg at night., I've been diagnosed with LVH (mild ) since 2001 and I have never once suffered from ED from these Meds and I'm going on 49 years old, i'm doing well BP average around 117/76 pulse 70, and Glucose around 115 daily.

Everyone is different so what works for me may not for you. I take glyburide,januvia and two insulins. My sugar is in much better control now and symptons(sweating,shakes tired)occure much lesss often.

A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.

81 year old Mom on Glip/Metform 5-500 1 1/2 pills breakfast-lunch-dinner and 50mg Januvia breakfast and dinner. Can these be increased or is insulin next?

I had diarrhea with metformin and even months after stopping metformin ibstill had diarrhea. My doctor switched me to januvia. Am so much better and sugar is controlled. Im not saying this is the solution. Im just sharing my experience with metformin. I agree with sally, see your doctor asap.

I also have congestive heart failure and diabetes. Just wanting to know what I can do to improve the kidney function or at least slow the progression of the disease. I have an appt. with a kidney dr. but not for a month yet. Would appreciate all input and your experiences with this. GFR 38 and creatinine 1.4.

Plus you could discuss changing meds. BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c ombines Metformin and Januvia. This may be helpful to you as well.
