I understand your advice is limited to the amount of information I had posted. I know you said 5% of the Benzoyl peroxide gel, but I only had 10%, and so I tried it. I used less of it than the size of a pea, reason being because I only have acne on my forehead (maybe because of my hair?) and on my nose (also the area around my nose). It immediately dried my face, it didn't peel or get red though.
I'll have to buy the 5%, and I'll quit using the 10%.

Fearing that those would leave me marks I went to dermatologist and was prescribed acne clear gel, hidrate lotion and adaferin gel. I have been using acne gel and hidrate lotion from one month my acne settled well. But from last 3 days I am getting very bad white flakes on face. My face is tight and some time applying lotion burns my face. White flakes have appeared first time on my face.
I am very scared does this resembles dermatitis? I also have little bit itching on face.

When your skin is no longer irritated buy a good acne gel. I recommend either Freederm or ByeByeBlemish. Use these products according to the instructions. Using more cream or leaving it on for too long will not help your acne clear up quicker, it will just make your skin sore.

I wouldn't use Shea Butter on acne or blackheads as this may make them worse.
A cream which contains benzoyl peroxide is good, but one from your doctor such as Duac gel may be more effective than store bought creams, as Duac also contains a topical antibiotic called Clindamycin.
Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
1% gel every night for 2 years.I have been getting alot of acne for the last 2 or 3 months so i went to my see my dermatologist.he said since i been taking minocycline 100 mg daily for 2 years and using the retin a micro 0.1% for 2 years and im still breaking out i should try something new like it may be wearing off....he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....
For the first few weeks after stopping use of the Duac gel, you will probably experience a moderate breakout. However, this should not discourage you.
