Itraconazole sporanox treatment dose

Common Questions and Answers about Itraconazole sporanox treatment dose

sporanox

Avatar f tn I am currently being treated by an infectious disease doctor, and he has me taking 100mg of Itraconazole per day. The name brand for Itraconazole is Sporanox. I still have this yeast infection! The medicine has not helped me yet. Why is this happening? I don't understand why merely taking an antibiotic for a sinus infection caused me to get a yeast infection that I just cannot get rid of? If there are other people that are in the same situation, please respond to my post.
Avatar n tn These include topical antifungals like econazole (Spectazole) or oxiconazole (Oxistat) and oral antifungals like Itraconazole (Sporanox),Fluconazole (Diflucan) or Terbinafine (Lamisil) Triamcolone acetonide is a more potent type of triamcinolone, being about 8 times as effective as prednisone. It should not be used to treat fungal infections without consulting a dermatologist. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.Kind regards.
Avatar m tn The effect had begun at day 13-14 and until 6 weeks after the end of the treatement. After, they gave me itraconazole 200 (Sporanox) during 1 week and it worked very well. So my dermatologist conclued it was atypic pityriasis versicolor. Unfortunately, now he is retired. And I am in trouble because others dermatologists say it is eczema (clinical). They dont't understand why Triflucan works with me. They never treated me until the rash completely disappear.
Avatar m tn I would like your opinion whether itraconazole treatment sounds suitable, and to know what others conditions could yield the symptoms I described.
Avatar f tn What is the connection between itraconazole and hemmorhagic stroke in an otherwise healthy male with no pre-existing conditions to cause a stroke?
Avatar n tn Topical treatment: When fungus affects the skin of the body or the groin, many antifungal creams can clear the condition in two weeks or so. Examples of such preparations include those that contain clotrimazole (Cruex cream, Desenex cream, Lotrimin cream, lotion, and solution), miconazole (Monistat-Derm cream), ketoconazole (Nizoral cream); and terbinafine (Lamisil cream and solution).
Avatar m tn I saw a dermatologist last week who gave me 200mg Itraconazole and lotriderm cream (clotrimazole), he told me everything would be cleared up in one week but after 5 days I haven't seen any real improvement. Is this definitely fungal? If so, why hasn't it responded to treatment? I've used daktarin powder and cream in the past and still my inner thighs felt rough. This is really affecting my quality of life and getting me down.
Avatar f tn So i went back to the doctor and again i had the sti so they gave me another dose of antibiotics and told me to use monistat. I told them that it didn't work last time but the doctor just told me to use it. After the yeast infection didn't go away i tried all types of home remedies. None of them worked i finally switched to a different doctor got tested again and this time all i had was a yeast infection. so she put me on diflucian which did nothing so i went back.
Avatar f tn I was given itraconazole and clotrimazole, during the treatment everything was ok but five days after treatment stopped it came back.. The skin around my lips got itchy and sensitive and i noticed very small blisters that are transparent in color appear on the border of my lips and a few in my actual lip area... I am very worried why it is coming back despite the treatment... Has anyone experienced thos before?
Avatar m tn http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/nail-fungus/DS00084/DSECTION=treatments%2Dand%2Ddrugs If it is neither then you may have to get a dermatologist's opinion on a possible Melanoma which can start under the toenail on occasion.
Avatar f tn hello, I've taken the itraconazole pill and candid-v3(a vaginal insert) for 3 days as prescribed by my doctor and i finished my treatment yesterday. but it still seems that i have some white watery discharge today, i have no itchiness nor whatsoever. does this mean that the pill is still taking some time to fully cure me or did it not work completely? or could the discharge be from the candid-v3 pill from yesterday?
Avatar f tn Thats correct and you are eating the wrong way
Avatar m tn I consulted another Urologist and he saw it again and said that it was normal infection. He suggested be Augmentin and ITRACONAZOLE capsules. and also advised to apply Betadine on the head of the penis and the foreskin. I followed that, the blisters have gone now, but I have red rashes (not wrinkles but lines and dotes) on the head of the penis. They seem to be more visible when the penis is erect. Also, if I apply betadine for 2-3 days, skin of the head becomes dry and gets wrinkles.
Avatar f tn Then i tried itraconazole 200mg a day for a month as suggested by another friend. It cured my itch but again came back after 10 days . Then a dermatologist suggested me terbinafine and fluconazole, but it dint give much result. I tried ketoconazole soap and oitment also and it got worse. Then again I tried itraconazole 100mg twice for a month, i was cured within 10 days. But again this recurrent jock itch keeps on coming back.
Avatar f tn I mate a doctor last week, he said it was a infection but now healed. Nevertheless, doctor has prescribed me itraconazole INN 100mg for 14 days and Clotrimazole 1% solution & miconazole nitrate 2% + hydrocortisone BP 1% creame. I am using these medicines for last 7 days, but those black spots are not going even becoming larger. One thing I would like to mention that, my wife has yeast infection. She is under treatment. I want your kind attention in this regard.
Avatar f tn Can anyone please help me learn what this medicine would have been? The fungus has returned years later, and I would like to repeat this treatment rather than the one that requires taking meds daily for 3 months.
Avatar m tn Coadministration with inhibitors of CYP450 3A4 may significantly increase the serum concentrations of colchicine, which is primarily metabolized by the isoenzyme. Clinical toxicity including myopathy, neuropathy, multiorgan failure, and pancytopenia may occur.
