I go for an ultrasound in two weeks (no previous thyroid problems). But what bothered me was last night around 5pm the tip of my tongue went numb. I went to the ER because I was scared and while sitting there my bottom lip went numb. Today my cheek and left arm and left leg went numb. I really hope it is not MS! I am totally freaking out.
Also I will feel it down my throat, my tongue will become very very dry while at the same time be producing excessive saliva. I will also feel my lower lip protrude and curl outward. This will also be accompanied with an urgency to have a bowel movement. (Very terrifying, the reason I am posting this post). I can live with most other symptoms but this one has me terrified for some reason. When I am in this state I just want to whimper and cry.
He gave me steriods for the pain, and my orange tongue went away. In January, my tongue turned orange again and my throat was sore, but there were no blisters. There's no cure for coxsackie and it's lays dormant in the body, and it tends to come back during times of stress.

An allergic reaction could quickly affect your ability to breathe, so call 911 or go to an emergency room immediately if you have hives accompanied by hoarseness or wheezing, swelling in your tongue or face, tightness in your throat, fainting, or if you develop hives on your tongue. If you have a life-threatening allergy to a food, medication, or insect sting, wear a medical identification bracelet that describes your allergy.

Also, I took an antihistamine and put some hydrocortisone on most of the areas, but my lips and tongue have started to feel mildly numb. Is this hives? I recently started taking some meds my dermatologist prescribed, but I've taken them before without problems.
Its funny you mention the biting tongue part. I have been having the same symptoms as purple74, sore throat, and tingling tongue on the right side, however I notice that I do quite often bite my tongue at least once or twice a week when I am talking. I also feel as though I get relief when I tilt my head to the right and crack it. This is something I never did before, as i dislike the noise. Have you had any further test treatment or diagnosis? Thanks.

You can also purchase sprays from the pharmacist to numb the soreness in the throat. Also antiseptic throat lozenges will also help to ease the discomfort and another good drink is hot water with fresh lemon and honey which is very soothing. If you have any congestion, you can also do steam inhalations. A bowl of hot water with Vick or Olbas oil and lean over the bowl with a towel over your head and bowl and breathe in the steam. Take care not to get scalded.
My husband age 59 has been experiencing burning, prickly itchy skin at random times but mostly during the evening. He has the sensation of pins and needles pricking his skin from the inside out. This mostly occurs on his arms or legs or back, but not concurrently. First it was his legs then it moved to his back and currently the problem is on his arms. The sensation will be symetrical, i.e. both arms. The prickling turns into severe itching with sensations of pin pricking pain.
Yesterday, vagina was swollen, sore, and somewhat tingly and numb but not itchy. I am also experiencing a heavy period right now, so a sore vagina is not abnormal, but the tingling feeling is. Also experienced diarrhea (possibly due to the shot?) Then last night I noticed a small white/reddish raised bump next to the "chicken skin" area between my vagina lip and thigh. I do not usually get hair/shave there, so I am not thinking that it's an ingrown hair.

I have had smae symptoms since 1 yr ago. It started with a core throat, sore under tongue area; redness on right side of throat and my tongue tingles; my ears ring constantly. I went to my PCP andhe said I have chronic alergies and treated me with sincus medications including augmentin. I did get much better adn the symptoms went away and then a few mobths ago they cameback andit was much worse; I actually thought I was about to expire; I was sleepy, sluggish, tired from the am to the pm.
I have broken out in red itchy patches all over my skin. My eyes swell and my top lip goes numb. This have happened twice over the past two months.
I too have suffered in the last 5 years from too much mucous in the throat. I am doing a good deal of research and I am now trying a holistic approach - Apple Cider Vinegar (must be unpasturized/raw/unfiltered/). The dosage is 2 tsp. before each meal or diluted with water and drank during the meal (you'd have to love vinegar to drink it during your meal - o-o-o-o-o no, not me). Anyway, I am giving it a try and will keep you all posted on how this works.
I have the same situation. It started a little while after I gave birth. It is only an itchy inner labia. No other side affects. I was tested for a yeast and bacteria infections. My ob-gyn has no clue (I went to 2). It comes and goes and is itchy!! I can not figure this out!!!
It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.
For I too have had this horrible itchy cough accompanied (sometimes) by an inflamed throat that comes and goes. The itchy coughing is especially present at night or when it's getting be evening around 5 pm. The docs keep prescribing medication that won't really help. But I hope someone figures out what the hell is going on becuase I'm heading into my second month of misery. To top it off, I've caught a second cold and have a recurrence of my second cold sore this year. It's big and ugly.
here i go....so for the last 6 months i have had itchy eyelids...my eye doctor told me it was due to mild allergies and prescribed eye drops which didnt help in the least so i turned to over the counter allergy medicine which hasn't helped either (so i dont think it's allergies) and in the last 3 weeks not only are my eyelids itchy but when i wake up in the morning my upper eye lids are bright red and swelled up so bad that its embarassing!!!!

Lately, I get a reaction in my mouth (tongue and roof of mouth mostly), that is similar to the hives. My tongue also seems numb and a little swollen. Here are my questions: Do food allergies get worse over time? How concerned should I be about the mouth symptoms? Is anaphalaxis a real possibility with soy allergy? I take singulair daily. The dr gave me an epi-pen. Thank you.
I believe there are also some mouth rinses you can buy as well. (They basically numb the tongue a little). Pharmacist will be able to tell you more about these type of remedies. Biggest thing you can do is avoid eating too much spicy foods with a lot of seasoning etc or not eating out too much (I personally feel some of the stuff they put in restaurant foods triggers all sorts of stuff in our bodies) Eating more bland type foods will help.
