Hi, I recently moved to Florida and appear to be suffering from allergies. People have told me that the new area may be what's causing the problem. Last year I got sick twice and both times people were saying allergies could've been the culprit. This year (in early January) I started with an itchy throat. Back in December I had a problem with my ears itching (I assumed they were just dry and used Mineral Oil to ease the itching).

I used to always clear my throat and cough...since having an air purifier in my home that covers the whole house; I've totally stopped that and found it to help all my children even in the midst of this WI winter - we've had no colds or flu or other respiratory ills. Here's some obvious signs in your own home that can indicate a need simply for air purification.
Had an issue where I developed a horrid itch in my throat a tickle as you will. I caused me to cough and as went on the cough got worse to the point I felt like I was drowning. Now I also started having sinus issues where my nose would stuff up and drain. I had gone to the dr's they gave me a cortizone shot 1mg didn't help. I went to the allergy specialist and we did an asthma test (was fine) he put me on nose sprays just caused dry bloody nose. I went to a pulminary dr.
my nose is very congested most of the time. I have a dry chocking cough. I cough a lot when I feel an inside drift to my throat. I have a bad case of sinusitis too I think. my nose hurts a lot when the weather is cold and the pain goes away when I drink hot water. I am taking Reactine 20mg and I spray Nasonex in my nose. I also rinse my nose with NeilMed sinus rinse (saline solution). The sinus rinse helps a lot. I do it twice a day.

So for the past week now I have had the whole itchy throat thing. Normally is will last a morning every few months or so and not the severe, but not this time. This time I also have a cold with it. The cold isn't co getting me at all but is giving me a raspy voice. I have a really dry burning kind of cough. The reason why I cough so much though is because of the itching. It had gotten so bad that I will have coughing fits for up to 5 minutes straight.
I've had an ongoing cough for a year now. my throat always feels itchy like there's dust in the throat and it makes me cough. When I feel the sensation coming on, the only relieve I get is if I drink water. my cough is also of a white/clear phlegm and it leaves me breathless afterwards. Its affecting my work and sleep at night. Smoke, spicy food and dust also sets me off. I've been tested for allergies and the only thing I'm allergic to is grass mix.
Dear ZigoMan i am allergic to any kind of smoke. at present yellow mucus stopped but i am getting a lot of cough and because if which my throat is getting swollen. and if i sleep under fan or if i get exposed to cold air i am getting itching in side my lungs.
This can be associated with postnasal drip and throat clearing. This can in turn irritate the throat lining. If infection is suspected, you need to send the sputum or throat swab for culture, microscopy, staining to rule out the pathogen and should also take chest radiograph. Antibiotic sensitivity of culture will decide the effective drug.
i take albuturol (i cant sp it) and it usually goes away... well lately i have been waking up with a mild cough and almost like an itchy feeling inside my chest (it feels like its on my lungs) about once a month. it doesnt go away unless i take a couple puffs of my inhaler...but when i do it will go away in about 10 minutes...
