I have an itchy throat with dry cough. My voice is affected . I melted lozenges for my throat and gargled with warm salt water , still it's uncomfortable. What natural remedy can I relieve myself of this itchy throat, dry cough with a low unusual sound of my voice? Thanks.
My nose is very congested most of the time. I have a dry chocking cough. I cough a lot when I feel an inside drift to my throat. I have a bad case of sinusitis too I think. My nose hurts a lot when the weather is cold and the pain goes away when I drink hot water. I am taking Reactine 20mg and I spray Nasonex in my nose. I also rinse my nose with NeilMed sinus rinse (saline solution). The sinus rinse helps a lot. I do it twice a day.
I been coughing nonstop lately, At night my throat would get really itchy and then i only get about 6 hours of sleep. I just recently moved into a new house and after sleeping on my bed, my whole body is itchy as well. Do you guys think there might be molds or something?
One known side effect of lisinopril is a dry nagging cough, however, I'm not sure about the itchy throat. You may want to call your pharmacist and ask them - they're typically very knowledgeable about all side effects of meds.
The cold is over in a week and after that I have an itchy inside my throat which causes me to cough a lot. When I am coughing, it is coming out a clear, salty liquid. I am not sure it is mucus because when I have a thick, yellow mucus, I don’t have an itchy and coughing problem. I go to see doctor and he gives me antibiotic for upper body for 7 days and it is gone. However, it is not a good idea to take antibiotic.
Around late January, I had an acute attack of itchy throat accompanied by a horrible non productive cough. Along with the cough I get a metallic taste of blood in the back of my throat. The attack can last for hours or until I break a allergy capsule in my mouth and swallow it without water, that and over regular antihistamines keep it down for a day or so, then I have another attack. I live in the south and at this month of March our pollen count is up around 5000...
i think you shud better talk to a nurse or a doctor for the medicine bcoz its related to pregnancy, the doctor tell you the medicine for cough which can go with pregnancy. as i can say drink lots of water when you feel dry throat.
I have this dry, itchy cough which started out with a lot of flem and mucous but is now mainly just a dry cough. It's also very itchy and irritating, feels like I have something stuck to the back of my throat. I had the same cough last year about the same time march/april. It lasted about a month and got so bad that there were occasions where I just couldn't stop coughing or even say a sentence without the need to cough. It also gets worse in the evening.
MY WIFE HAVE DRY COUGH FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS. SHE COMPLAINS OF ITCHY THROAT AND SHE ALSO HAVE LOST SOME WEIGHT.PLEASE SUGGEST TREATMENT.
Hi, I recently moved to Florida and appear to be suffering from allergies. People have told me that the new area may be what's causing the problem. Last year I got sick twice and both times people were saying allergies could've been the culprit. This year (in early January) I started with an itchy throat. Back in December I had a problem with my ears itching (I assumed they were just dry and used Mineral Oil to ease the itching).

Has anyone experienced persistent dry cough in pregnancy? This is my first pregnancy, and I've definitely been having a little bit of sinus issues - mostly at night and I can feel stuff dripping down my throat. Only stuffy occasionally and mostly at night. This was not common for me when I wasn't pregnant unless I had a cold. A few weeks back I also had a very itchy throat with a persistent dry cough. I thought I was just fighting something off.
I am having coughing fits every few minutes and every time I breathe in deeply it triggers a coughing fit. it is a dry cough for the most part with a little bit of phlegm, but I am also having on and off cold symptoms (runny nose with clear mucus, sneezing). some of the coughing fits have gotten so bad that I have not been able to breathe and almost thrown up. it doesn't seem to be getting better with time and I am getting tired of coughing. what could this be?
Had an issue where I developed a horrid itch in my throat a tickle as you will. I caused me to cough and as went on the cough got worse to the point I felt like I was drowning. Now I also started having sinus issues where my nose would stuff up and drain. I had gone to the dr's they gave me a cortizone shot 1mg didn't help. I went to the allergy specialist and we did an asthma test (was fine) he put me on nose sprays just caused dry bloody nose. I went to a pulminary dr.
I keep reading that asthma comes with a DRY cough. Mine is productive. I'm taking Singulair, (daily) and Proventil (as needed) but I still wheeze on the inhale and I'm coughing up stuff. Is this a normal part of asthma or should I be looking for something else? Thanks so much for your comments.
Before, I use to cough frequently near the end of summer and through the winter, during that time I usually get a cold due to the weather. Now, its 2009 and it is getting worst. My throat feels extremely itchy, dry, scratchy and drinking water doesn't help. I found that sometimes though that warm water would ease my throat a bit and it seems like cold dry air triggers the coughing more.
Hmm sounds like what I have it just started about two weeks ago my throat feels itchy and dry sometimes i cant catch my breath between coughs and all i spew up is clear mucous. I tried benidryl and some cough syrup but it doesnt work when i goto sleep. I only get about 4 hours of sleep before i wake up coughing and spewing up more clear mucous and i feel so exhausted the next day. Is there something floating in the air that we dont know about and maybe it only effects certain people?
But anyway, my mom has this irritation in her throat. She isnt trying to clear her throat when she coughs, its just very itchy. She tries not to cough, and this results in vomitting her food. Water and tea does seem to help, but it only delays the coughing, which continues later on the day. We've also noticed that she coughs a tremendous amount at night. I seriously have no clue what to tell her or what medication I just recommend.
On occasion (maybe once a week) I have a coughing spell...the cough is very chesty and almost feels like I'm clearing my throat. It only lasts a few minutes, but my main issue is that every time I get this cough I have severe itching on the right side of my chest and the same side of my upper back (as far as location, it almost feels that if you drilled a hole straight through the itch on my chest that you would touch the itch on my back). Each time I cough it itches even more.
Every night, literally a few minutes after I lay down to go to sleep, I develop this horrible itchy throat that always leads to coughing and gagging. This sensation will last for about ten to fifteen minutes, which i will spend coughing, drinking water, blowing my nose, and trying desperately not to throw up. Then it will fade to a more mild itch that I can sleep though. I will feel fine all day, and then, consistently, this cough will rise up as I'm about to go to sleep.
I literally wake coughing and it feels as though my throat has closed over and is very itchy. I cough and cough and cough..... Well, I have been off all sugars as I am trying to loose weight and it has gone. yesterday I ate birthday cake and it was back. I am trying going off sugars (including honey, agarve etc) again, and then I will eat them again and see what happens. has anyone else noticed this?
I was relieved to find someone else saying that they felt their lungs were itchy. When I look on the web there's a lot of itchy throats but I wanted to find itchy lungs. I think my problem may be to do with dust and cats. My cats come into my bedroom and I can sometimes see the dust motes in the air. I'm going to start a better regime of clearing dust because in the long term my lungs could suffer. Make sure where you sleep is as dust free as possible, this may help.
I am now left with a scratchy throat and a constant dry cough. My vocal cords seem to be very irritated. I get worse if I talk a lot. Additionally, I can't eat certain types of food anymore, such as anything with a sweet icing such as a glazed donut or anything spicy. I don't normally eat sweet stuff, but I occasionally have dessert after a great meal. Those types of food will send me into a coughing fit.
