Hi my name is Liz I suffer from extremely itchy skin It's mostly itchy on my legs And I am not allergic to anything too I scratch my legs so hard I leave bruises on them Even my tongue and my fingertips and my lips are itchy I went to the doctor and they don't know what it is either
My husband age 59 has been experiencing burning, prickly itchy skin at random times but mostly during the evening. He has the sensation of pins and needles pricking his skin from the inside out. This mostly occurs on his arms or legs or back, but not concurrently. First it was his legs then it moved to his back and currently the problem is on his arms. The sensation will be symetrical, i.e. both arms. The prickling turns into severe itching with sensations of pin pricking pain.
I have the exact same symptoms as well. Very itchy and skin is bruising prob. from scratching it so much. I soaked in the hottest bath imaginable for it on my feet and it relieved it for hours, but yet it still does not explain what this is caused from or how to prevent it. I don't have any faith in doctors or hospitals anymore because honestly they all depend on the net too much for prognosis/diagnoses whatever!
All I seem to have now is the dark pen dot spot in my eye and a sensitive tongue where the taste buds at the end are always raised my skin also seems rather itchy all over with no rash. In your opinion am i clear from HIV all subtypes including Africa and my symptoms are down to something else. All the NHS and my private doctor stressed that the tests I had are more than conclusive after 3 months let alone 4.5 months. The Africa factor combined with me being drunk and the symptoms worries me!

Had for a while a very itchy ear which drive me insane at times. I got hold of some fatty ointment which seems to work, but I like to know what it is without having to race all over the place .
Hello, One of the possibilities for such itchy rashes that come and go is of hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications.
Hi, I'm from the UK and my itchy forearms have just started again, always around this time of year. I agree with you, and I think it has something to do with sun exposure as mine always starts as my tan starts to fade!
As soon as I even lightly brush the area it gets insanely itchy, prickly and hot and I end up scratching off some off my skin. The itchy prickly feeling is deep in my skin and is so distressing sometimes I feel like I'm going to go insane!
i think the problem is spreading as now my other thigh is starting to show same symptoms and is itself itchy but not as bad as the left one. I think ive got a skin disease but darnt go to see the doctor. i had a similar issue on my left wrist although this has cleared up becuase i left it alone long enough. Im at my wits end, i itch in my sleep and it makes my wife unhappy with me moving around and fidgetting all the time.
Make an appointment with your doctor to investigate the causes of this skin problem, maybe contact with something to which her skin has reacted? Use non-biological clothes detergent and dress her in cotton not nylon or polyester. Hope this improves for her soon.
About Epsom salts, I've read that you don't have to submerge in a bath for it to help -- even a foot bath works, because the salts are absorbed through the skin and then are carried through the body. Of course, the more skin surface that is in contact with the solution, the greater the absorption. Just a thought. You could also try a cloth soaked in warm water and magnesium and place it gently on the affected area, if that wouldn't be too painful.
Hi: I know itchy skin doesn't sound like a big problem, but my legs and arms itch like they were about to fall off everytime I take a shower. I don't have dry skin and I use Aveeno body lotion everyday to make sure I get enough moisture. The itching is like an intense tingling only on my arms and legs (mostly on my legs) and it's so bad that sometimes I just want to run yelling into the street.
I have similar sounding problem. Very itchy and dry looking skin round the eye area, including the bridge of my nose. One eye is worse than the other. I have tried vaseline, aloe vera gel, even steroid cream which the doc prescribed after diagnosing blepharitis. I don't think it's blepharitis as a lot of the symptoms don't match, eg I don't have crusty or sticky eyes in the morning any more than is normal. Have trawled the net and can't find anything other than an allergic problem.
Hi All I am going through the dx process again they thought maybe MS but nothing showed on the MRI i have posted on the autoimmune site but because of recent skin issues and doing a google thought i would post here.
started to develop muscle ache and  joint pain, in my shoulders, arms, legs, knees, hands, fingers and neck, sharp pains and pins and niddles, persistence headache and a general nervous feeling throughout the entire day and night. I then developed a rash on my hands, heat type rash, not red and not sore or itchy, it was on my fingers and  knuckles and this is also were I was having joint pain.
for the last 4 yrs or so i have had sticky to touch, itchy testicles, they irritate when i walk or do any exercise,i also have irritation around my anus and always have to wipe several times a day, theres also a constant smell like semen present and if i touch myself i can smell it on my hands. 35 almost 36 weeks it happens at night I get so itchy my arms feet & middle of my stomach its driving me crazy!!!!
Oh and the antihistamine the doctor has put me on is Ebastina (spanish name) Also I bought some hydrocortisone cream and used it on my hands and arms and it has got rid of rashes that appeared there the other day (Well the rashes are still there but no longer pink) - I was prescribed this in the UK a year or so ago when I had dry skin rash things on my hands and what I had a couple of days looekd similar.
It's only my right palm that itches and its only in one spot, not the whole entire palm. And my bump isn't itchy, it's skin colored and looks as though it's underneath the palm. I'm going to a neurologist tomorrow because a GP thought it can be nerve damage. Thanks again.
i have found that lamasil, which is available in most uk pharmacies, stops the itching instantly, then in a day or two the skin flakes to reveal a solid lump like a scab that was the fluid in the blister. the active ingredient in lamasil is terbinafine hydrochloride. hope this relieves some your itching.
No running in ears but still maddening external itching. Crusty **** can be scraped off the itchy area. Its like dried onion skin. C'mon I know I am not the only one with this ****. Help!
I've tested every scenario I can think of and have concluded that weather, clothing, temperature, creams, dry skin, laundry detergent, medication, hydration...has nothing to do with it. I'm really frustrated by this and must say the symptoms scare me a little. I've read all sorts of stuff and the only thing that makes sense is a histamine response. As I'm typing this my husband has decided he's going for a run! How I would love to join him!!!
all itchy arm sufferers....please look into brachioradial pruritus. My arms, and only my arms, have itched for 10 years. no rashes, no psiorias, excema etc. The creams, allergery pills..my list is extensive as to what I have tried but nothing worked. ---------------The only thing that helps are ice packs.
i have had some hpv skin lesions eg wart on eyelid I have just recently broken out in a mass of small raised bumps under both armpits. Is this likely to be hpv? i have had the armpits waxed in the hope this will clear up, becomes itchy sometimes and occurred last week with no sign of clearing thus far. I have been taking beta carotene to help the skin generally, Would you suggest this as potentially helpful in combatting hpv?
Also various skin allergies, looks like hives - red itchy lumps that tend to disappear the next day but then I get red itchy patches (not lumps this time) on my neck or arms, tummy... I really dont know what to do anymore.
