I don't exercise often but when i do my skin starts to feel very very itchy all over my body. This happens everytime i exercise about 30 min. into jogging or running, is this normal? and what is causing this?

During the last year, my scalp has begun to be quite itchy also when I am not engaging in any of the activities (Exertion, Exercise, Embaressment, or Blushing) which used to trigger the itching. I've been trying benadryl lately, and it seems to shorten my episodes but I think thats just because it calms me down so much. I know exercise will dramatically increase excretion of histamines on the skin, too, and exercise helps big time. I know that in terms of histamines, those two statements contradict one another, but they're interesting observations. If I resist scratching, like while I'm at work, they fade back to light bumps that can be faintly seen just under the skin. It has spread a little, and I now have another area further down. You could take oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications for the itching. Apply calamine lotion at the sites. Wear lose comfortable footwear. Maintain good personal hygiene. You could take over the counter medications for your heartburn.
When your blood vessels dilate during exercise, histamine is released from the cells, and that's what causes the symptoms -- exactly like an allergic reaction. I did not go very deep into it, but one article suggested taking an antihistamine before exercising. Another article suggested that the condition may be related to food allergies; in other words, something you eat causes histamine to build up in the cells, and then when you exercise, all the histamine is released at once. i think the problem is spreading as now my other thigh is starting to show same symptoms and is itself itchy but not as bad as the left one. I think ive got a skin disease but darnt go to see the doctor. i had a similar issue on my left wrist although this has cleared up becuase i left it alone long enough. Im at my wits end, i itch in my sleep and it makes my wife unhappy with me moving around and fidgetting all the time.

been very anemic so i was told not to exercise at all by my dr.. i usually exercise at least 1 hour every day..bike surf or hike... i miss it so bad.. i miss being outside.. does anyone know what a safe hgb level would be to start exercising a little bit again.. i know i cant surf cause of the potential for bruising and possible drowning cause im so weak..(haha) anyway ..i cant get a straight answer from my dr ..normal for me was 14.
If you've got bad anemia (anything under 11 in my book) and feel like sh!t I wouldn't do any aerobics. I didn't exercise a lick during my treatment and I didn't feel guilty about it either. The only exercise I did was just prior to gettijng my blood sampled, I'd run up and down the hospital staircase (5 stories) a few times until I almost passed out (HGB around 10 at the time).

Hi: I know itchy skin doesn't sound like a big problem, but my legs and arms itch like they were about to fall off everytime I take a shower. I don't have dry skin and I use Aveeno body lotion everyday to make sure I get enough moisture. The itching is like an intense tingling only on my arms and legs (mostly on my legs) and it's so bad that sometimes I just want to run yelling into the street.
of course that didnt work.. i have tried tanning because they say that is good for itchy skin.. and that didnt work.. im begining to think that i am going to be living with this for the rest of my life! i wish there was a doctor out there that can tell me what this is... my finger hurts so bad that i cant bend it all the way.. thats partly because its swollen too.. and if i bend it the skin will crack.. i try gloves with cream at nite... but everything is just an endless hope!
I have similar sounding problem. Very itchy and dry looking skin round the eye area, including the bridge of my nose. One eye is worse than the other. I have tried vaseline, aloe vera gel, even steroid cream which the doc prescribed after diagnosing blepharitis. I don't think it's blepharitis as a lot of the symptoms don't match, eg I don't have crusty or sticky eyes in the morning any more than is normal. Have trawled the net and can't find anything other than an allergic problem.

I know that HIV can be asymptomatic for a long time and before I got the genital warts I did have a flu-like symptom and even a canker sore.
