When I am itchy I put Vaseline on at the end of my shower while still in the shower. When you get out rub it in well and towel off.it really helps...

Hi, The reason people usually get itchy skin in the winter is because the weather is cold and dry. The dry air makes your skin dry out causing itchiness and abrasions. Make sure you are getting enough water. if your dehydrated the lips are really dry and chapped and you can do a simple test to see if you are dehydrated other than the lips. Pinch (NOT HARD) a little bit of skin on your hand or arm then let go, if the skin snaps right back then your ok.

I use Aveeno body wash for dry and itchy skin every time I shower, which is made from oatmeal - It helps a little. The itching is worse when I shave, but it helps when I use natural shaving gels that produce little foam. When I exfoliate, it also helps the itching to be minimal. I try not to scratch in the itching areas because if I do, it does not go away and gets worse. I always moisturise after taking a shower, but it doesnt seem to help that much.

ve been having problems with dry itchy skin too. Swith to an ultra moisturizing cream instead of a lotion and take cool showers as warm water drys your skin out. Udder balm works well for me, you find it at stores like Menards. It's thick and creamy, it was originally created for cow udders lol but people use it too.

incredibly itchy skin after shower I hve changed sops, detergents, cleaners, lotions oils, showers, filters shower heads, water tempeture, and i still have the problem. no rash or any visable systems. It does not bother me as uch if I go wrk out before the shower. but ususlly so bad I can cry and nothing seems to help. can anyone give me good suggestions.

Try using a non scented lotion after everytime you shower or swim. Your skin dries out when wet and becomes itchy. Lotion should help.

There is an ol ingredient that is extracted from coconutknown as coconut acid or sodium laureth sulfide which is used in most soap and shampoos to create that foamy lather, I find that those products that contains this ingredient causes me to itch uncontrollably after shower. My only relief from itchy get after shower is to avoid products containing that ingredient. I hope this might be helpful.

I read about aqua pruritus as well. Also, I should say last month I had 7 differnt auto immune tests ran becuase of sore joints, that resolved. No tests were positive. My CBC a few days ago was normal, WBC was 7.6. Thats about all I can think of.

Make sure you are moisturizing regularly after your showers to prevebt dry skin and also drink lots of water.

I suffer from long intervals of skin itching(30-45 min.) after I take shower. It's an oil rub that doesn't smell bad and doesn't stain clothing (I find oils will be the best to hydrate skin) and whatever you do, do NOT scratch, it will just make stretch marks worse.
