Avatar n tn Hello, Dandruff can cause either an overly dry scalp with itchy white flakes that may be waxy or greasy, or it can manifest as an oily scalp with scales. Internal causes include hormonal imbalance, poor health, poor hygiene, allergic hypersensitivity, lack of rest, emotional stress, excessive consumption of sugar, fat or starch and heredity predisposition.
Avatar f tn It burns at times and and it is very very itchy. Sometimes I itch it so much it bleeds. I tired to look at it te other day and it's red with a white crust. I also felt a lump in my neck on my lwft side as well. It is movable and rubbery feeling. You can only feel it- it isn't noticeable. So now I think inhale cancer / lymphoma ... I get extremely hot at niight sometimes- no soaking sweats- but I have sweated- it could be because in sleeping with a comforter....
876805 tn?1240185863 s pretty much for scalp issues such as oily scalp, dry scalp dandruff, psoriasis..) and then this conditioner called american classic tea tree conditioner.. it's absolutely amazing, the first time i used it i could FEEL the difference, it was like such a relief to my scalp. The first one whatever is in it soothes my scalp and then the tea tree oil does something else that helps, no idea what but it feels so much better. Hope that helps a little bit!!
Avatar n tn Hi, This could be seborrhoeic dermatitis. It is a skin disorder affecting the scalp, face, and trunk causing scaly, flaky, itchy, red skin. It particularly affects the sebum-gland rich areas of skin. Side effects to inflammation may include temporary hair loss. If severe outbreaks are untreated for extended intervals, permanent hair loss may result, because of damage to hair follicles. http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn Your doctor can also prescribe a topical steroid for this. These meds are available in a solution that is non-greasy for use on the scalp. The one I've used (and found very helpful) is fluocinonide solution. I also didn't do well with strong menthol shampoos or conditioners - they really irritated my skin even more.
2199483 tn?1338594436 Since hitting the age of 19 I've been getting a rash that goes away and comes back in the same area. It's very itchy and is more moist then dry. It always starts in the back on my neck next to my hair line, but gets worst over a few days and can come down to the front of my neck and even to my ear lobs and up onto my scalp. I've used many dry skin and anti-itch creams and lotions, and after a few days of applying it'd go away, but in a matter of weeks it always comes back.
19700125 tn?1482853881 I've had a small pimple-sized, dark pink bump that looks like a bite for several months. It's very itchy. It's on my chest wall. Sometimes there is a second one nearby that comes and goes. I've been putting hydrocortisone cream on it, but it doesn't really help. There is no drainage or pus or white head. If I scratch too hard it bleeds occasionally. No one else in my family has it. Should I go to a dermatologist?
Avatar f tn I've always dealt with dandruff in the winter, but I can't tell if the little white things in my hair are flakes or nits. I did the lice treatment, but nothing showed up when my hair was combed out. I have painful slightly itchy bumps and pimples on my scalp. I'm not insanely itchy, but I know you don't have to be super itchy to have lice. I don't know what else it would be if it's not lice, maybe the treatment didn't work. If it's not lice what is it?
Avatar f tn They do add eucalyptus as well in the itchy scalp version, which seems to relieve scalp issues more when added to that Zinc stuff. One other option is Selsun Blue's "itchy dry scalp" formula which besides being a Extra hydrating formula, contains 3 percent salicylic acid, which normally is added to face washes because it works great keeping zits at bay. It also says it has "8 intensive moisturizers and botanicals, plus vitamins B5 and E".
Avatar f tn Yes! I noticed that I'm starting to break out in the barely noticeable rashes, especially on my tummy and thighs.

Avatar f tn The issue with scalp injuries is that the tension on the injury to tear apart again is always there - you may need to get the injury cleaned up again at a hospital and more staples put in.
1148619 tn?1332010984 I had extreme itch and burn on my scalp. It drove me crazy. I found that doing coconut oil treatments on my scalp help control this for a few days at least. Now that I am on SOC only, the itch is more Ike bad dandruff, just annoying. I still use the coconut oil bet less often and it still helps. Coconut oil comes in a jar at your grocery, sort of solid like shortening. Microwave some for 10 seconds, just to liquify, not hot.
Avatar f tn I have never had a problem until I got pregnant, 28 weeks now and for the last few months in the exact same area my scalp has been itching so bad that I feel like my skin is raw there. Anyone else experiencing this and know how to deal?
Avatar m tn I have some scalp moles since a few years and also some "bumps" that itch one side of the head. One mole is big like a dime. I live now in a very sunny area, and even if I always wear a sun hat I am concerned it might be cancer. Should I consult a dermatologist??

Avatar f tn I have one very small section near the front of my head where I have just noticed a small area of hair loss. The area is only a couple of centimeters. The scalp in that section is slightly pink compared to the rest of my scalp. It has been itchy for the past few weeks. Thankyou for your help - it is greatly appreciated. Avatar n tn I've never had any issues with my hair, but all of I've noticed when washing it and brushing it alot more is coming out than normally would. And it is alot thinner in just a couple weeks. My scalp is itchy like no other and I've used ever dandruff shampoo, home remedies, even cortisone cream on my scalp...nothing seems to keep the itch away.
Avatar n tn About a year ago, in quarantine, I started finding these little white beads on my scalp. They weren't falling out, the only way I could find them was by running my fingertips through my scalp and pulling at my follicles. I assumed they were lice eggs so I did a treatment, and I did have lice (in quarantine, somehow). But even after I was lice-free, I still found these beads in my hair. I could pull out like 5-6 daily and I'd still find new ones.
Avatar f tn t have scaly, flaky, itchy, red skin; just itchy scalp and some pimples. I also have had no hair loss; if only I could on my legs and underarms, ha ha. That's why I asked if it could be related to rosacea. Has anyone every heard of rosacea spreading to the scalp; I know it can affect your eyes.
1041303 tn?1421387341 I am 13 weeks and for the last week I have extremely itchy scalp!! I have not changed my shampoos recently, and I don't have lice lol. I did start a high blood pressure pill last Monday, but can not find anything to do with that.
