Avatar m tn Those hairs look healthy and thick, thinner hairs are rare.and i have no receding hair line its just thinning mostly on the top, sometimes i get the itchy scalp on sides and back and im able to pull out hairs easily without pain.I have also noticed that my eyelashes/eyebrows and chest hair can be easily pulled out. What pissed me off is that im only 21 and my hair is thinning,is this MPB or something else ?
Avatar m tn Hello , when i was 16 years old i wasn't washing my hair oftenly.Only 1 time a weak. After a few months i started having a burning sensation, some very small bumps and redness on the mid scalp. The pain became unberable.I also had some crust when i scratched it with my nails but i couldn't see any dundruff.I was also left with thinning hair.I used ketokonazole and nizoral and after around 2-3 weeks the redness and the burning sensation went away.My hair never came back though.
Avatar f tn My bed has my hair all over it too. My scalp and the sides of my head itch on a regular basis, not so much my scalp and though. I’m left to believe that this could be caused by “Telogen effluvium” which is thinning and loss of hair due to a stressful experience, which makes sense. Because your hair doesn’t fall out in massive clumps with MPB.
Avatar m tn I am very nervous about this rapid hair loss. Do you think it is mpb or could it be telogen effluvium due to the sever stress and change in diet and weather. Or could I have reacted to the drugs I have been taking like aciclovir? I am also extremely worried about hair loss due to syohilis which I have not yet been tested for? In these cases ( minus mpb) will the hair grow back once I return to my normal life in Canada? Any recommendations on lifestyle changes I can do to assist in re growth.
Avatar m tn also doctor, you mentioned its not permanent but will it grow back?
Avatar n tn I'm a 18 year old male and have increased hairloss on my scalp/eyebrow/ and pubic areas. I tend to have dry skin (eczema aswell). I'm constantly tired and have become somewhat depressed lately. I've a hard time remembering things lately too . I've been searching for a reason to this problem , most importantly my hairloss.
Avatar m tn I first noticed that it looked as though the hair at my temples pushed back a little, so I saw a derm who said maybe mild MPB or telogen effluvium in either case he recommended Rogaine. I held off on starting the rogaine because I wasn't ready to commit to rogaine for life as I read was necessary for success.
Avatar m tn Sorry, please take a minute to look at this... to start off I've always had a really high hairline at the temples, (and might have matured a little around puberty) so that's not the issue if you can check these pics out a second. The issue is the density, as I found the top to be thinning out in my teens, then I was diagnosed Hypo and began Synthroid, and I think it stopped, but still remained rather thin.
Avatar f tn Hello. I'm a 20 year old male and during the fall season of 2012 my scalp started really iching and my hair started to shed severely around the crown region. During this time I also had dandruff. This itchyness and dandruff persisted for about another 3 months, that's when I jumped on Nizoral 1%. It stopped the dandruff and the itching, but till this day I'm shedding and its very noticable. My hairloss started at the crown and has worked its way up to my hairline.
Avatar n tn I am currently taking 1.25mg/day of finasteride for MPB. I have been on the medication for 10 months and have noticed a distinct inability to gain muscle, despite exercise and diet, that corresponds to when I started this medication. What role, if any, could this medication be playing in this? If it is negatively impacting muscle growth, is there a way to counteract the effects that it is having on my muscle without sacrificing my hair?
Avatar f tn I'm on victrelis triple therapy and just recently started to develop really itchy scalp. Feeling like I want to scratch it right off. Any advice?

Avatar n tn Hi, I am visiting my sister. She has just finished her 3rd chemo (taxol/carbo-IV) She is having a time with nausea and it is day 9. she cannot take compazine. she uses zofran but I was told that is not really effective for delayed nausea. Any suggestions??? Also she is complaining she has a very itchy scalp. she uses Eucerin lotion. Any suggestions???
Avatar f tn I put my hair half up half down (mine is long) so I get it on my lower scalp (above my neck, on scalp behind my ears etc) and crown/top of my head. You really dont need it on your hair, just scalp so splitting my hair works best. Only wash it every two days. Dr can prescribe clobetasol for itchy spots if it gets worse. Water, sunshine and keeping stress low also helps a lot:) I hardly have issues anymore.
1148619 tn?1332010984 I know the itchy skin and scalp has been hashed over and I feel like I have a handle on the skin, lotions, humidifier, cool showers, etc but the itchy scalp is not calming down. I wonder what people think while talking to me and I constantly itch scalp. My doc looked and there is no dandruff. I tried hot oil packs, all sorts of different shampoos, etc. thinking of going to salon and see if they have a suggestion. I know I saw somewhere here recently this being mentioned.
Avatar f tn t have scaly, flaky, itchy, red skin; just itchy scalp and some pimples. I also have had no hair loss; if only I could on my legs and underarms, ha ha. That's why I asked if it could be related to rosacea. Has anyone every heard of rosacea spreading to the scalp; I know it can affect your eyes.
Avatar n tn I've never had any issues with my hair, but all of I've noticed when washing it and brushing it alot more is coming out than normally would. And it is alot thinner in just a couple weeks. My scalp is itchy like no other and I've used ever dandruff shampoo, home remedies, even cortisone cream on my scalp...nothing seems to keep the itch away.
7827642 tn?1396958758 15 weeks and 5 days and my scalp has been super itchy here lately as well as parts of my face and my forehead. Sometimes others parts of my body will itch but not all the time. What could be going on? I don't see the doctor again until Tuesday of next week.
