Common Questions and Answers about Itchy scalp essential oils

Avatar f tn I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy. One interesting note, at Christmas time I dyed my hair with one of those "intense" colour hair colourings. It burned and tingled my scalp, but afterward my scalp problems were gone for about 4 weeks. No itching, flaking or soreness.
681148 tn?1437661591 I have tried everything I can think of. My scalp is dry and itchy. It sometimes has eczema or dermatitits in addition to this problem. I've added healthy oils to my hair and scalp and left them in. In a short time, my hair is back to its dry, dull and frizzy self. I'm at my wits end with this. I have loads of allergies, so I'm careful as far as that goes. I don't wash more than once every week or every other week.
Avatar f tn I occasionally still get headaches and it seems to be happening more frequently as of late. Does anyone use essential oils to help with headaches? Or just Rx meds? The only meds that really give me any relief make me sleepy. Since I teach, it makes taking meds before or during work hours impossible. Just exploring me options. Thanks in advance!
Avatar n tn how does one find pure essential oils without synthetic additives that are not multi level companies.
Tbd Has any one had any success in using essential oils to nauturally lower cholesterol levels?

Avatar f tn s rosemary mint and it totally changed my hair and scalp. No more flakes or itchy scalp for this lady (; the scalp benefits has even helped people with psoriasis. I went and bought the big bottles with the pumps but if you're unsure you can try a smaller bottle for a lesser price. They're pretty close to all natural and extremely good smelling, I definitely recommend it! I can't not wash my hair or I break out and get extremely oily.
977806 tn?1249067346 I get an mild itchy scalp sometimes, even before TX,i fine hydrogen peroxide liquid works.I have tried numerous other remedies but this seems to work .
Avatar m tn I use a lot of lotion on my dry skin (arms, legs, etc), I found one with shea butter and a fragrance that I really liked (Rose Petal pure essential oils) and because it smells so nice, I find that I am more inclined to use it frequently. My GI doctor advised me to use Aquaphor ointment (over the counter) for itchy skin. It is a really thick icky stuff that you put on after showering, and then cover up (so you don't get grease on your furniture).
1253197 tn?1331209110 Hi guys Sorry I have not been around much these days, but here I am again and pleased to drop in even if it is because my head is dreiving me mad!. I have had an itchy scalp for about 2 weeks and have searched the community and seen that other people have mentioned this before but thought I would put it out to see if anyone has any suggestions.
Avatar m tn In your effort to reduce the dryness in your combination hair, find an oil that will fill in for the absent sebum - one that behaves similarly to sebum in our hair. Non-essential oils will just coat the cuticle, keeping moisture locked out. Jojoba oil is a good example. You can access more information at this site http://www.howtodothings.com/fashion-and-personal-care/a3893-how-to-care-for-combination-hair.html In all probability you have inherited this pattern.

Avatar m tn I did some research, and it says that the scalp produces natural oils, which moisturizes and makes hair healthy - and that washing your hair too much (I wash my hair very excessively) will strip those oils away. If this is the case, I'm guessing that taking a break from washing my hair would remedy this, yes? Since it would give my hair time to make the natural oils, heal, and become healthy, smooth, and not ridiculously itchy, right?
Avatar f tn In a word, use soap dirived form natural essential oils (if u would like to know what kind, pleae inform me) - MAINTAIN healthy food diet and exercices - WEAR clothing that is smooth on the skin - Moiturize and massage your body after every shower with essentiel or natural oils (olive oil, argan oil, shea butter....) Give your self a little pampering, the itching will be a bit relieved TELL ME IF IT WORKS FOR YA!

394687 tn?1290920840 It is essential to use only unrefined, cold-pressed oils with high linolic acid content, such as linseed, sunflower, soya, poppyseed, walnut, and corn oils. Such oil should be consumed together with foods containing the right proteins otherwise the oils will have the OPPOSITE EFFECT, causing more harm than good. The best combination is cottage cheese and linseed oil. The linseed should be freshly ground.

Avatar m tn I have large itchy red bumbs on mu scalp tey kind of go in a line, i havnt changed shampoo or routine what could it be?
Avatar f tn Not sure why your neck would be itchy unless it's near your scalp/hairline? If so, I started getting this all of a sudden about 3 years ago. I think the doctor called it Seborrheic Dermatitis (a severe type of dandruff). I tried everything (before going to the dermatologist) to get rid of it but I had bad itching, flaking, peeling, and even a little bleeding on my scalp.
Avatar m tn Yea... I'm not so worried about the dandruff as I can usually make it go away at least temporarily. But would love if I could find something that will keep these sores/dandruff away.
Avatar f tn I recently cut my hair, the hair loss has lessened to 15 strands after washing and brushing with some minor hairloss through out the day. Also, I started using essential oils which I think is helping. I started washing my hair daily with H&S followed by Nioxin and now everyother day. Will probably take Nioxin out of the equation. What do I have? Could dandruff ignored do all this?
134578 tn?1693250592 In Asthma there is inflammation of the air passages that results in a temporary narrowing of the airways that carry oxygen to the lungs. Essential oils are applied on the skin, it is difficult to understand how they reach the airways and help with the inflammatory changes in the lungs. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
