Common Questions and Answers about Itchy scalp bugs

itchy

BUGGED OUT, I BELIEVE YOU! It has been suggested to me by a psychiatrist that I have psychosis because I'm plagued by bugs crawling & biting me but when I brush them away, I don't see anything! I have had this problem off & on for many years! However, after reading your post, I began checking my fingernails & hands when I scratch or brush the bugs away & discovered that there are actually bugs!
Hi I suffer from randomly getting an itchy face or scalp. It usually happens after I get out of the shower, but can be random and happen in the middle of the day without me touching any fragrances or anything like that. It looks like little bites almost, I usually get them on my forehead or just on or underneath my jaw, also on my eyebrows and only recently I have had an itchy scalp.
If you are having a horribly itchy scalp, itchy forehead, red bumps on scalp or face, dry skin, itchyface, "eczema" pimples on the scalp or most terribly the itchy scalp that will not go away that leads to hair loss; you have probably come in contact with a person who has one of these symptoms in their mouth or have touched an object after they have had their hands in or around their mouth. You may even be the carrier.
Yesterday my scalp, back of my neck, and upper torso began to itch furiously! The worst is my scalp though. I definately do not have lice, none of my hygene habits have changed, and I've not eaten anything different than normal. It just feels like bugs are constantly crawling on me. Has anyone else experienced this recently?
I have a cold and suddenly feel like there is something crawling on me starting with my scalp. I've checked there is nothing there! Not taking or doing anything different. As some of you will remember I was diagnosed with PPMS in 2008. I don't have "relaspes" things just seem to appear at times. I'm not due to see neuro again until next summer... any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
I recently developed small itchy bumps on my scalp and around my one ear. They just started one day last week. I tried a different shampoo for the scalp. No relief. I have not used anything different to bring this on. I have had itchy spots before when I used certain hair products but I have not been using any. It is driving me crazy. I had a little bit of dandruff when this started but that has cleared up. I have had my head checked so many times for lice. Nothing.
My ears pop every so often and it feels like something popping out of my scalp too. It also feels like bugs are scaling my face.I dont sleep at night it gets worst.I can feel things like bugs braises against my hair in a particular spot and its fallen out very weird to me. Ive been going to the doctors but there not helping and its getting worse. Please help me find a solution.
Happens on arms, shoulders, backs, necks, legs but not behind knees, in the scalp or groin areas (thank God!). So far we have not been able to see anything. Not a single bug of anykind. Our home is kept very clean. We do feel like they are crawling on us. When this first happened our Dr prescribed a Pemerithin cream for me as I was the first to get a bite (always the case). We washed the sheets, pilowcases, pad and blanket in super hot water with bleach, then again with ammonia.
A couple months later I awoke in the middle of the night with a swarm I couldnt see on my scalp and all over. The itch was excrutiating and when I scratched my head they got under my fingernails. My fingers looked like sausages from all the bites and I took a look in the mirror and my eyes and lips were horribly swollen with red splotches on my face. I couldnt see any of these biters, even with that many. The itch lasts several minutes and the swelling was gone by morning when they departed.
What to do, if you can stand to be in the shower at a moderate to cool temperature (Too warm and you will irritate your already irritated skin more) and simply massage your scalp (no fingernails). Doing this will help to get the scalp to balance out its own oils, because experts I have seen on TV say this works for all types of hair from dry hair to oily hair. It definitely helps dry hair and dry scalp.
There is a sandy-grainy like build up on my scalp This is also accompanied by an itch. Even after I wash my hair, the grainy like build up is still there. It is NOT flaky what so ever. My hair has also started to fall out and at the end of my hair, a white little grain is at the end. Hair will not stop falling out. I have gotten blood tests at a dermatology office and everything was normal. I also have tried about very type of zinc pyrithione shampoo, at the highest concentrations.
My scalp has been itch like something pinch in my scalp. I also scrath my scalp. I tried anti dandruff shampoo it helps a little but everytime I washed my hair next thing I know my scalp itch again. I tried different shampoo before this anti dandruff shampoo. The skin doctor prescripted a medicated shampoo but I still itch. I think the medicated shampoo is strong too. So now I scatch my face and my scalp. It is very annoying and it is not people friendly. Who wants to look at me scatching.
I recently used some hair dye and my scalp had a bad reaction to it. I had a little dry scalp previously but nothing crazy. After my scalp was so dry and itching all the time and scabbing. I tried the Shielo Hydrate Shampoo and it was INSTANT relief. I also feel like it took it away, my scalp does itch anymore.
Hello, These can be due to body lice also. According to CDC(centre of disease control), Intense itching (“pruritus”) and rash caused by an allergic reaction to the louse bites are common symptoms of body lice infestation. Wash the Clothing, bedding, and towels in hot water and dry them in sun after machine drying them. Topical permethrin or Lindane cream may be needed which are available by prescription only.
My scalp itches really bad. It literally feels like there are bugs crawling on my head. I have ruled out lice since that what people have asked me. I have used every shampoo you can think of. Now I am using Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoos. What can I do to get rid of this itch? Please HELP.
I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.

I have been having a crawly feeling on my scalp like bugs running around (no lice, i got it checked) and the same on my body. No visable marks, rash or anything! Before this started, I had an eye twitch in my left eye. soon as that stopped all this creepy crawlyness started. Can someone please help?
Okay, I dont have a rash or any bites of any kind but I am itchy EVERYWHERE! Its driving me crazy. I seem to scratch without even thinking and then it feels so good (like scratching a mosquito bite) and then I cant stop scratching. Its over my arms, legs, scalp, stomach, not really my privates or face (thank goodness) Its been going on about a week now. Could it be a nervous condition? If Im not (contiously) scratching, its not as bad, but once I start, its really hard to stop.
I have bites on my scalp big ones that are hard limps that hurt and itch all in a group. I can see black bugs come out in the shower some times. When I go to the doctor they see nothing and thing I am crazy. I think this is because I just moved here so no one knows me and no one knows that my hair is not this black or course! He says that it is. He also says that I just have a lumpy scalp. No because I went through chemo and I have a smooth scalp. It is my body so I think I know.
Apart from very itchy breasts, I have what looks like teeny bug bits on the lower front and the entire back of my legs, a few on the sides of my thighs, and a little bit on my right elbow. It itches so bad and since I scratched so hard on my legs, it looks horrible now...kind of like brush burn. It is very possible this is completely unrelated to pregnancy and I am just all bitten up or came into contact with some irritant such as a plant.
I didn't really consider it as OCD at first, having just chalked it up to the increasing hot wheather which makes my skin {and scalp} really itchy from all the sweat but the fact that I can't seem to knock it off makes me question whether or not it could be a compulsive problem. Mostly I end up picking right near the crown of my head and it to gives me this sort of trance-ish like feeling. It's weird though because it's like, my head feels really gross unless I get all the scabs out of it.
Excessively sensitive scalp could be due to scalp inflammation caused due to diet, stress, internal hormonal imbalances or a bacterial/ fungal infection. The symptoms could be severe itching, redness, pimples, oily scalp, flaking, crusting causing bleeding. It could be something more serious like temporal arteritis. This is the inflammation and damage to the large blood vessels that supply the head, usually branching in the neck from carotid artery, usually the temporal artery.
It was as if zillions of microscopic bugs were crawling in my left ear canal. I did not have insurance, and for this and other reasons I did not seek professional medical help. Believing it was some kind of bug or organism, I tried to kill it by poring hydrogen peroxide in my ear, and then iodine, and then a kind of ointment meant to kill ear mites in cats. None of these "treatments" had any effect at all.
Hello, BRP(brachioradial pruritis) is a rare disease, usually restricted to the forearms and is most prevalent in individuals between the ages of 39 and 72 years. BRP usually develops bilaterally and involves the area overlying the brachioradial muscle, although it can spread to the back or chest.3 Patients with BRP report having an itching sensation, usually combined with a burning or painful sensation.
(They say mostly only infants get it on their heads but my scalp was itchy too). You are suppose to put the cream on for 8-14 hours which I did overnight & it absorbs into your skin pretty quickly. Its suppose to kill the mites that are under your skin I think. You wait 7 days then reapply once again all over. However, it can still take up to 2 weeks to stop itching, & someone even said up to 4 weeks. I cant go on feeling this way for 2 more days nevermind 2-4 more weeks!
I check her throughly for a few days to make sure it was not lice, I have washed her hair over and over with different shampoos that are not medicated, now I have noticed small bumps on her scalp. My scalp is now very ichy, and my husband says he is starting to feel his scalp is ichy. Could this be scabies? What is scabies? What are the symptons and how does one get scabies? Would appreciate any information.
