Common Questions and Answers about Itchy red rash on face eyelids

rash

I don't wear any makeup and for the better part of the time ive been washing my face with Cethaphil facewash. If i use any lotion on my face its Neutrgena oil-free for sensitive skin, but a the same time i try to avoid the area around my eyes. I also take daily claritan and vitamins. I've gone to the doctor several times for this and i was told it was an allergy to something. Tried changing soaps, detergents, monitoring my diet, and the other standard reccomendations to no avail.
I am 51 years old and have never had wrinkles around my eyes or on my face until now. My lids now have wrinkles and droopiness. Also sometimes I have a rash on my face around my right eye. The skin gets red, dry and itchy. I've always looked very young for my age, and I'm afraid this condition is beginning to age me quickly ! Please help ! Any suggestions would be appreciated..
However, the skin underneath my eyes, eyelids, lips, around mouth, and a little on my forehead get VERY dry, itchy and red. If I mess with my eyes they get more and more red and sometimes are a little swollen when I wake up in the morning. I understand that it is also winter so the change in temperature and the fact that I live in Iowa may have something to do with it. I have a history of some eczema but not for quite a while.
5 months - broken, red, oozing skin around my mouth, cheeks and forehead. very painful. - red, itchy, swollen, and weeping rash (and darkened skin) all around my eyes and eyelids. very itchy. - I've seen 2 dermatologists, they diagnosed excema for the rashes not around my eyes. they guessed that around my eyes I have some sort of contact or allergic dermatitis.
Hello, I am a 24 yr old female and I have a problem with a rash on my face. I never had a problem with dry skin, in fact the skin on my face was always very oily. However, about 3 months ago, I noticed the skin on my cheek bones was getting red and flakey. I had no idea what to do, and it got progressively worse, spreading to my forehead, eyelids, lips and chin. It was very red, flakey, and inflamed, and was the worst itching I have ever experienced and made me miserable.
I have the same problem as this red swollen itchy eyelids. Don't have allergies like this. I do wear contacts--why would they cause this? I haven't been wearing the contacts for days now....
My skin is dry and itchy. Especially around my eyelids. My eyelids and the skin around my eyes..were red and grossly swollen and sore..the swelling has finally gone down and now I can feel there are even smaller bumps on those areas (it feels like sandpaper to the touch) and sadly...I see eyelid wrinkling (I guess from all the swelling..it stretched...) and under eye wrinkles and crows feet... This is some kind of allergic reaction to a counterfeit BB cream.
I have red, itchy blotches all over both my eyelids, right side of face, lower back and stomach. what do i have?
If we diverge even a little bit, the yeast symptoms can flare up. Sorry -- went off on a tangent a bit there. The bottom line -- this rash on the eyelids is caused by a systemic infection of candida - yeast - overgrowth. No AMA doctor will tell you this, nor do many understand it. Only a holistic doctor will treat the cause, not just the symptoms. Taking Anti-biotics in an excessive manor can cause an overgrowth of yeast in the body.
Hey i have a red itchy rash on my face mostly on my chin, but it spreads to my cheeks and the tops of my eyelids. i thought it could be a reaction from the flu shot i took like 2 weeks ago but the things i read said that it will happen with min. or hours after taking the shot....i have been broke out for 2 days now and i am itching soo bad can some one help me please??

I have recently developed an itchy rash on my face, mostly above my eyes on the eyelids, around my nose and mouth. I have had to switch the brand of cosmetics I use twice before (8 years ago and 2 years ago; but I have had very good luck with the current brand. I have also noticed that my orthocyclen bcp's have kept me blemish free for several years now. I noticed that this current rash started about the same time we acquired a family pet poodle. Could the dog be causing my rash?
I have had a couple red sores on the head of penis that seem to come and go every so often and they are raised up a bit and are very uncomfortablw during sex(sensitive sore).I did have a prescription for lotisone (i think that how you spell it) lotion with 2% of some othe ingredient that I used and it usually made them go down after several days of application, doctors really didn't know what exactly caused it but sure it wasn't a STD.
I have had a terrible rash on my face for what seems like months. It comes and goes, at first I thought it was related to my cycle but I dont think it is. If you look quite close my whole face is tiny bumps, red and raised, some areas are bigger bumps, especially around my jaw and forehead. Over the past two weeks the itching is intense and I have to take high doses of benadryl (100mg twice a day, I know that is too much) to tolerate it.
This time, again only one side of my face (the same side) but behind my ears was extremely itchy and there is a red rash there. My one eye is very swollen as is my sinus on that side. I look like I have bells palsy but it's not because of the itching and swelling. It's not drooping. My ears are ringing. My neck and throat feel tight. The swelling and itching come quickly and then receed. Although it has not receeded yet from this third attack.
i have had a itchy scalp for 2 months and now i have a rash on back of neck and is itchy.i just went to my doctor today and she said i had head lice WRONG!!! if i had head lice i would be infested with them and so wouldn't my family.i have tried t-gel,head and shoulders, scalpacin and taking benadryl.i do have a little bit of dandruff and the tops of my ears itch.
Have had same problems as all of you. Red, itchy patches on eyelids and below one eye. Lips that are red, dry and itchy with vertical lines that make me look like I have smoked all my life. I first developed symptoms after taking a second course of antibiotics for a sinus infection. I developed all the above symptoms but also had swelling so the doctor thought I was having a reaction. I discontinued the antibiotic and have had this same problem for about seven months.
Do you all think it could be from the meds still? It burns when I try to put lotion on my face, my eyelids are red......any answers would help please.....
It can be on parts of the face as well, including the folds around the nose and behind the ears, the forehead, and the eyebrows and eyelids. You could use it 3-4 times a week on your face. Skin on face is more sensitive, therefore I would not recommend a 2% strength.Ketoconazole has become available in a 1% over-the-counter dandruff shampoo, but the 2% shampoo still requires a prescription.
I previously suffered from eczema on my arms and legs, but it has been dormant for at least 10 years now. I now have rash on my eyelids and where my nostrils meet my face (does this make sense??). It itches a lot, periodically, but does not feel like the same incessant eczema itch. It seems extremely itchy closer to my eyelashes rather than just my whole eyelid.
This morning, I washed and applied some more cream. The red rash seems slightly worse. It is on more of my face, maybe even across my forehead. It is on my eyelids. My doctor is not on-call. What should I do?
So now, both eyes are red (it wasn't as red before), almost swollen shut, pressure on the face from the swelling, dry, and right eye is scaly from dryness. Also, 2 additional smal itchy rashes (weeping also) on arms, and just recently, few itchy red patches on neck (not weeping). Went to Doctor #4 who said it's allergies.
I look awful, as I'm very pale and the contrast between my pale face with the random red patch near my mouth and my dry, puffy eyelids makes me resemble something out of a horror film... :( Any ideas of what the problem could be or how to fix it? Or has anyone else suffered similar symptoms? All help would be greatly appreciated. :) Alex.
It started off with a red rash on my face; cheeks, forehead and then it spread to the backs of my ears and eyelids. It was extremely itchy! Then I got a few blisters on my lips, but they didn't grow very big, nor did they ooze or pop. AND THEN the rash spread to my penis - VERY itchy. I went to the doctors and he wasn't much help so I waited it out and after about two weeks it had cleared up. NOW, I am having the symptoms again, just 2 days later...
This time the breakout covered the entire right side of my face, my forehead, along my hairline on both sides of my face and my eyelids as well. The only part of my face that was not affected was the left side cheek area. It remained very soft and smooth and clear. My face looked basically like it had litle bumps all over it. It was not as red as before. My forehead was not red at all, just a bit on the right side of my face and my jawline.
I have had a very red, itchy rash in various parts of my body for a month and a half, supposedly caused by an allergic reaction. The rash is around my eyes (upper and lower eyelids, extending to the brow ridge), around my mouth, under my left armpit, on my inner thighs, and on my left nipple. The rash is very red and has clearly defined borders. The rash oozes clear fluid and forms blisters. Sometimes the rash on my eyes is so swollen, I am unable to see and cannot drive to work.
