Itchy rash at night

Common Questions and Answers about Itchy rash at night

itchy

It usually happens at that time, and only when I'm at home. Only my legs display these symptoms. They do feel itchy sometimes after a shower, but not as severe (almost like an after-effect of whatever bothered me at night). I am a deep sleeper, and this itch on both my legs doesn't fail to wake me up night after night, month after month. I use moisturizer hoping that it helps (it doesn't). I recently came back from a visit to the US, and I can say I never woke up from itching while there.
For almost three weeks now I have had an uncontrolable itch at night but its only when I come in from work and get out of the shower we have not changed soaps, lotions, etc. the rash is always on my back, bisept, for arm, upper back, belly, and outter thigh. The spots become itchy at first with no rash but when I scratch the areas swell and become red. But this only happens at night after a shower. Don't know what it could be don't kow if it could be hives, scabies, or dermographism.
I have been getting a rash (hives) at night on my legs, arms, back. It is accompanied by itching. By the time I wake up in the morning the rash and hives are gone. I haven't changed any soaps, detergents, and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of what this could be.
Different spots each night. Most times the rash is accompanied by bumps. The rash and itchy spots completely go away by morning. We have not changed soaps, lotions etc. Also when he takes a shower, each time he has red marks on his back that look as though someone scratched him, after awhile they go away. He doesn't want to go to the doctor, but I am concerned what is causing this. Thank you for your help.
My hands and feet are itchy. I just started using this site. Dont know how to post stuff. So im asking this way. My feet and hands are very itchy. My skin is not dry. No rashes. Havent started anything new. I have been taking Benadryl, with no relief. If any one has any suggestions please help.I'm going crazy. I have a Drs. Appt. today so will see what they say. Every night (only at night) for the past few nights I get an itchy rash on my wrists, behind my ears, and on the upper part of my stomach. The rash consists of tiny red bumps and a couple of the tiny bumps have a white "halo" around them. I am 39 weeks pregnant, and I thought that it was just a part of pregnancy, but my husband also has gotten these tiny red bumps but they are on his cheek and thigh.
On monday, at night my arms started to get itchy, and then I noticed there were little bumps on them. It wasn't an uncontrollable itch, just a bit annoying. I went to sleep and yesterday in the morning they were gone. However, last night the bumps and the itch returned, again, nothing intense, without any other symptoms, I didn't have pain or fever, sweating or something. What can it be? I'm not worried, but yeah...
Didn't blister. Only gets red when scratched. Very itchy, worse at night. 5 weeks now and still itching! Heat doesn't make it worse, but cold helps. Any ideas? Going crazy!
The strange is that the rash only apears at night or is mostly itchy at around 1 or 2 a.m. It is so intense it wakes me out of a deep sleep. I am married and my husband had itchy ankles before I started with my symptoms. His rash (which did not look like my rash) and itching has since stopped. I've been to the dermatologist but he did not take a scraping since the spots were not juicy (ughhh!) The strange thing is they seem to become inflamed in the middle of the night. Could this be scabies?
I have noticed that during the day the itch is not as bad but at night the itch is worse and the bumps appear more read and full. I used some benedryl and cortisone cream one night before bed and I still fell asleep for about three hours and then woke from the itch and had to apply the cream again. Yesterday I found my dead sea salt scrub and started using that to help at night. The sea salt seems to keep it managable for about 12 hours before I feel like I need to reapply it.
I have an itchy rash on my both arms only. It is very itchy and i am making myself bleed all the time. I have tried anti histamines but they dont always help.
The symptoms of this condition are symetrical itching on neck and arms with no rash, especially at night. Hope that works for you all as well!
Your condition sounds miserable; you didn’t mention being on HCV treatment, so I’ll assume you aren’t. What stage liver disease are you in? Have you had a biopsy yet? How about liver function tests, more specifically, total bilirubin?
After recovering from a serious upper respiratory infection (Amox with Augmentin prescribed), I broke out in a terribly itchy rash. At first it appeared to be like scabies, so was treated for that. Then, at times it was hive like (even the scratches raised up like hives). It is not everywhere, underarms, breasts, naval, lower abdomen, back. chest, shoulders, wrists, hands. There are many small bumps mixed with bigger hive like bumps. Very, very itchy. Calamine helps.
It is an infestation of the skin with the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
She has been suffering particularly at night where itching has woken her up and it has become unbearable. It also seems to be effected from heat. Some background information... It all started a couple of weeks after moving into a new house. At first we thought it was bed bugs, but realised that it is a rash and not bites. It seems to be a reaction. We have changed everything that could be considered an allergy...
Although the sites are not typical of scabies but yet the diagnosis needs to be ruled out. it drives my crazy at night . tried all sorts of creams but it just appears in a different place. I have been given carbimazole 2x 20mg each morning until I see the specialist. do you think the meds will clear the rash?
I recently have developed an itchy rash on my abdomen which at first resembled poison ivy. They started out as small clustered itchy bumps with slight blistering along my waist line. These red itchy bumps are now spreading one at a time along my legs arms, one on my neck and ear, now resembling small mosquito bites. I was recently away on business and I thought at first that the rash may have been caused by something from the hotel bed, but after I came home these bumps continued to spread.
I have a red dry feeling, slightly scaly rash on my throat and chest. It is very itchy and kind of burning. I have had something similar in the past which turned into hives all over my face and body. Allergy tests revealled a severe birch allergy, but nothing else. This also started at the same time of year, when my furnace comes on in the fall. Last year it lasted from Oct.- March! I won't be able to get in to see a dermatologist for approx. 6 months.
Not sure if I have asked this yet or not.. sorry if I have! Anyways, since my first "flare" in May 07 I have been getting an itchy rash just below my belly button. It starts as intense itching and then turns into welts/bumps. The more I itch the worse it gets. When I do have it it lasts several days and may not show again for several more months. Last night I woke up itching and it it back! At first I thought it was an allergic reaction to the buttons on my pants.
have you been checked for hives i have red spots that come up on forearms and itch i was told by someone that has same syntoms the it was diagnosed as hives
The chest are if scratched seemed to have a minescule hard whitehead in it. It itched at night a couple of weeks. I had a cortisone shot (40 mg), tried different creams, lotions & it went away. Then about 6 weeks ago I had shaved my armpits & probably put deoderant too soon afterwards. I also put on a new shirt & shortly thereafter my armpits started itching badly. It was definitely worse if I got warm or sweat. This went on, usually worse late in the day or overnight.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I had an itchy red rash before taking Tapazole which resolved after beginning thyroid supression med's so I wonder if there is a link to rash and unstable thyroid levels.
