Common Questions and Answers about Itchy legs bleed

There is no rash to be seen but I have to scratch sometimes making my legs bleed. It keeps me awake at night. I've tried rubbing my legs with rubbing alcohol to cool them down. At 4 am when you're tired you'd try anything. I've blamed it on the winter months but my legs don't appear to be dry and I moisturize like crazy. I need help for this problem before it drives me crazy!! This discussion is related to Itchy legs, no sign of rash or irritation.
Hello, a few years ago I had a microscopic parasite that made my legs itchy so when it happened again I went to my Doctor but he told me there were no holes so it was probably an allergic reaction, he gave me a cream that helped a little but didn't stop it. I searched the net and someone said it might be due to something in bread so I stopped eating bread, then I stopped cakes and even schnitzel and crumbed fish, this did help but I still had it sometimes.
I have had itchy legs for YEARS, not all over, just my legs. I've tried changing soaps, detergent, lotion, everything. I have been to several doctors and no one knows what it is. I have heard that it could be a gluten allergy? so i have to try that. The itching is the most annoying thing ever...i often cause myself to bleed because of it. Let me know if you find out anything.
i have made scratches on my legs to where they bleed. what really relieves them is when i put steamy hot water pressure on my legs. this fixes the problem but i know it dries out my skin. any suggestions out there. it is really irritating.
Im glad Im not the only one with "itchy" legs. I have had "itchy" legs for years. I have been told it was all in my head. And have tired almost everything for dry itchy skin. Its mostly my lower legs, the front and side. Sometimes its my upper leg. When they itch, it feels like they are itchy from the bones. I end up itching them so much that I tear my legs open, and usually get a faint scar. They seem dry usually, but are as smooth and soft as my hands are.
My legs have been itchy every day since i was born. im 21 and i have always had itchy legs. when i was younger my family would all scream at me as once i started i couldnt seem to stop. the itching gets so bad that it annoys you and fustrates you and it becomes painfull. But my lower half of my legs from my knees to my ankles are always and have always been so extremely itchy. I will scratch them sometimes until they bleed, which feels so good while im scratching but gets so bad that it actually hurts badly. They are very rashy, irritated and bumpy, shaving sometimes hurts, but if i dont shave it makes them itch more i think. I tried rubbing alcohol on them which is a relieving kind of painful for a short time only.
I have extremely itchy legs all the time. I usually end up scratching them until they bleed and are red for days. They have never showed any sign of rash or infection and I take iron pills as well as fish oil daily to try and make it better, nothing works. Lotion usually makes the itching worse too.
Everytime I go outside the lower part of my legs start itching. I can itch them until they bleed if I could but I put lotion on and it helps. I will go inside but as soon as I go back out my legs start itching again right away. What is wrong.

Hi, I am a 41 year old female and have suffered with incredibly itchy legs for about 14 years. My legs are a mess, full of scars from scratching till I bleed and then reopening scabs by scratching them over and over. My doc has sent me to see a dermatologist about twice but they were no help. I have tried...
I have small itchy spots on my lower legs primarily that appear suddenly at anytime of the day. They start out as small (1/8 inch or less) red spots, become itchy, and when I scratch, they become larger in diameter (1/4 to 1/2 inch)and raised. They do not bleed when I scratch, but clear fluid will come out of them. After a few days, they stop itching and will go away except for a scar left from scratching. It is not a rash. They don't appear as a series, but indiviudally.
I dont have a rash or bite of any kind but I just itch so bad to the point I bleed. Its on my chest, legs and arms mostly but also on my "backside" I dont have any clue what it is, but if theres anyone else that has the same and knows something I can do about it pleeeaasse let me know! Im going insane.
My wife isn't experiencing the same symptoms. I often wake up at before dawn with extremely itchy legs. It usually happens at that time, and only when I'm at home. Only my legs display these symptoms. They do feel itchy sometimes after a shower, but not as severe (almost like an after-effect of whatever bothered me at night). I am a deep sleeper, and this itch on both my legs doesn't fail to wake me up night after night, month after month. I use moisturizer hoping that it helps (it doesn't).
The more I scratched It started to bleed a little and scab up into little round scabs that itch. When it moved up my legs it got to my penis and now it itches and there's red bumps and dryness that it. During Masturbation It itches so badly that it feels good to get the itching relieved, Could It be scabies, Hurpies, or crabs?...I'm so scared. I haven't had sex since march 1st.
When I was a teenager I used to run a lot and never suffered from this. Now I'm in my 30's I suffer from itchy legs even when I walk briskly - forget about running! My doctor wasn't any help. I too have tried wearing different fabrics, but it doesn't help. It happens no matter what the weather/temperature is, and starts up after about 20 mins. Very frustrating because I want to get running again. Any help would be appreciated.
im not sure if i have developed eczema but my legs are extremely itchy. there is no rash or anything but both my legs from the feet up to my hips and sometimes other parts of my body like my back or my breast itch so much that i just want to tear them off. its very annoying and i dont know what cause it or what is going on. people tell me its just dry skin but lotion does no justice... what am i to do? im in pain and i cant stand it anymore.
Hello all, I am a little over seven weeks pregnant and I have the same symptom I had the last time i was pregnant, itchy legs.. has any one ever heard of this or gone through this experience? They are always itchy, isn't this a weird pg symptom??
10 about my extreme problems with itchy legs (beating them until they bleed because the pain feels better than the itchiness). If this sounds familiar then please do what I have done. LASER HAIR REMOVAL. I've only had 3 sessions so far and it's made an incredible difference! The hair starts falling out 1-2 weeks after each session. I scratched as usual for about a week after my first treatment and haven't needed to scratch since. The results are sooo much better than I could have expected.
Okay, so every time I shave, my legs get crazy itchy almost the moment I get out of the shower. The itching lasts anywhere from a day to three or four days, and as far as I can see, there are no bumps involved. The itching is so bad that I've made myself bleed before, and my skin is frequently raw. I've tried using hair removers, sensitive skin shaving cream, and lotion afterward. So far, nothing has worked, and it seems to get worse as time passes. What can I do to stop it? Please help me!

Just my lower legs though--nowhere else. Sometimes it's painfully itchy--you guy know what I mean! I use a combo of benadryl ointment and oral benadryl, which of course puts me to sleep so I can't take it during the day.
When I was younger I would wake up in the middle of the night with such a strong urge to itch that I would sometime use a blade from a pair of scissors to relieve the itching, which often made my legs bleed. Even now, sometimes during the day if I'm out my legs can get so itchy I have to find a bathroom to itch my legs as the feeling is so insatiable. I don't use anything other than my fingernails to itch my legs anymore, but my legs are more itchy than ever.
on my toe, the bottom of my foot, legs, stomach, arms. I'm wondering if this could be pregnancy related. I did have PuPP with my son in my 3rd trimester, and I really dont think these bumps are PuPP, but I'm wondering if maybe they are related, or if they are pregnancy related. Also, I have been noticing more blood when I blow my nose, or sneeze, and I also had this with my son. Thanks for answering.
My legs hurt when I shower, the water hurts them. And, to add to this, my arms have become sort of rashy lately. Not like my legs. Itchy, little red bumps around my wrist and up my arms. They itch. I'm so tired of always itching, so tired of having to always wear pants and long sleeves to hide it! I'm 24 and have never been able to wear shorts. I don't like looking at my own legs, I don't want anyone else to. No one in my family has any kind of skin problems.
I get in mainly on my legs and I will be scratching till I bleed before stoping but I have a hard time feeling cuts as I have to see the blood before I end up having too look for the cut, but boy can I feel the itch (go figure eh) Cowboy
