My legs have been itchy every day since i was born. im 21 and i have always had itchy legs. when i was younger my family would all scream at me as once i started i couldnt seem to stop. the itching gets so bad that it annoys you and fustrates you and it becomes painfull. My dad used to smack my legs where it was itching and it used to help but it didnt last too long only for about 5-10 mins and i would be scratching again.
When I was a teenager I used to run a lot and never suffered from this. Now I'm in my 30's I suffer from itchy legs even when I walk briskly - forget about running! My doctor wasn't any help. I too have tried wearing different fabrics, but it doesn't help. It happens no matter what the weather/temperature is, and starts up after about 20 mins. Very frustrating because I want to get running again. Any help would be appreciated.
My Legs are soooo itchy!!! I keep putting on lotion every time it gets really itchy! I itch so hard, I end up getting cuts and scrapes on my legs! I guess it's a good thing I bite my nails. When I stopped shaving and my hair started to almost fully grow back out it wasn't as itchy anymore or not itchy at all. It was like I forgot to itch my legs or something!

Just my lower legs though--nowhere else. Sometimes it's painfully itchy--you guy know what I mean! I use a combo of benadryl ointment and oral benadryl, which of course puts me to sleep so I can't take it during the day.
I have a non itchy skin rash that is below the skin on my wrists back of hands and just above my knee. This is the second time in 3 months. The last time it went away in a week or so. The skin on the back of my hands becomes tight, the rash are like small spots or pimples one or two are raised the others are flat and appear to be below the skin. I do not have any rashes / spots on the palms of my hands or the bottom of my feet.
I have bumps like a small mosquito bite that itch. It started posterior knee, then under breast, lateral inguinal, just outside the axillary fold, They intermitantly itch fiercly and can feel worse at night. It started on Sat. with a small bump that itched behid the knee, today is Thursday, There is roughy three bumps in each area. None on the hands arms legs, but one on the waist line 1 inch just below naval like a bump mosquito with a redness surrounding the bump the size of a quarter.
I see my doctor in two days but my skin s so itchy its torturing me. Its my belly and legs below the knee. My face and arms itch a little but nothing like my belly. I have never had anything itch so bad. I'm putting fragrance free lotion on every hour. It helps but i still itch. I'm not sure how much i can take.
I have a qeustion, below my left knee i have around 14 little red bumps. And they just poped up out of no where. I dont shave and i think it may be flea bytes i dont know. there little red, not itchy bumps. Please tell me whats wrong.
My husband does not have any of them either, but I have about 30 of them now, but only below the knee and on my feet. I thought it might be flea bites, but we don't have any pets.
The blisters tend to stay below the knee, but are very itchy and uncomfortable. One year, i noticed a large bug-bite type thing on my knee. It wasnt the summer yet, so i was still in school and knelt down on it quite often to get to my locker. The spot seemed to get larger and moist-er and redder. Then it bubbled up all over my knee and was very wet. Then the usual blisters popped up, on both legs this time though. I would appreciate insight.
Ever since that happened I've been having severely itchy/rashy legs at night. It's only at night and seems to be exacerbated by hot showers. Mostly below the knee but it can creep up into the thighs too. I have tried weeding out gluten and it hasn't really worked though maybe I should do it for longer period of time. I honestly think it's a sulfate allergy as that is more consistent with the PPD allergy.
Not to mention that I'm getting married in a few months, and I would hate for my itchy legs to ruin my wedding day and my honeymoon! I have already had two doctors tell me "I don't know what else you can do", so any suggestions on what this is or how I can treat it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
It usually starts at my ankles and goes up to just below my knees. It occurs on both legs. The rash is not itchy, but is very painful to the touch, as if it were a burn. After a few days, it fades away. I have tried wearing loose fitting pants, no socks, low socks, knee socks, but it doesn't seem that my attire has anything to do with the rash. my legs and ankles also swell up. It seems to be worse if my walking was done outside as opposed to inside. I am 51, and overweight.
Also at the same time I had some itchy bumps on the side of right knee and some on other leg also. I thought the itchy red bumps on legs were from hiking: one day I was pricked by a prickly plant in Arizona. And I thought the bumps on face were something unrelated. About same time I had ithcy red bumps on arms (about 3 red itchy bumps per arm). About a month(no more than) after I got home to NJ I went to see a dermatologist, because the bumps on face were not totally going away.
This too began in a small area but both eventually spread to cover the entire front of each leg from just below the knee to just above the ankle. And then a similar presentation began across my abdomen and, eventually, both sides of my lower rib cage. My doctor at the time started me on a course of prednisone, which made me a monster and did absolutely nothing for the itch.
my dad had the problem to and when i started dealing with itchy legs, i said oh no there gonna look like dads and i'm just like him.. well few yrs back i had an alergic reaction to some prescription medication that contain sulfate in it, never thought about the connection with the itchy legs, and i like alot of toast for breakfast, i do not eat alot of sandwhiches, and like many others on here it's not all the time , it flares up mostly in cold weather.
It turned red after scratching and later turned dotted but did not spread to feet and above the knee. When I went to India the dermatologist prescribed Betagel - g cream (Betamethasone dipropionate and Gentamicin cream). It was all cured but dark marks remained. When I reached back, the problem recurred. But unfortunately, I have to use controlled medicines like hydrocortison cream and egoderm cream. Now the itchiness is severe and spread across both legs between the palms and knees.
I'll feel as if someone has a tight hold around each leg below the knee in a firm constant squeeze, and immediately I'll feel the pressure of the blood rush to to my lower legs, and it's happened enough times now, I know if I'm quick to look down closely at my lower legs and feet as soon as I feel it start, I can actually watch all the little red dots come out all over. And they don't ever go away right away, like a rash might.
Numbness remains on the soles of my feet and around my toes - worst on the big toes - a few spots on my right knee and hip, a large area of my abdomen and a smaller area on my back. The rest of my legs feels as if there is a layer of flannel between me and a touch. I also have some general tingling after exercise and some "itchy" spots. I finally got in to see the neurologist yesterday. They did a nerve conduction test on my lower right leg and found no neuropathy.
This all started for me right around the time of puberty. I would take a shower and end up with itchy legs. I would run around the back yard like a chicken with my head cut off. The itch would finally go away. As I have gotten older it has moved to my arms too. Sometimes my torso and head. It almost always happens when I take a shower. Now within the last few years I itch/burn and feel like I'm going crazy without taking a shower. I even went so far as to stop showering.
I sense relief then the symptoms return. Most days I can hear but am constantly aware that my ears are itchy. The challenge is to not itch. If I itch, I usually get flaky stuff that I literally can lift off my inner ear.If I itch too much it becomes wet and begins draining a wet clear fluid. Then at night, whatever side I lay on clogs shut. In the morning there is thick crusty crud that again I try not to pick at. Im obviously in continual circle of symptoms here.
Numbness and burning and itchy. It started out the size of a quarter just above my knee cap during my last pregnancy. Docs said it would go away after I delivered because most likely a nerve was being pressed on...Needless to say it did not go away, and has only been progressivley getting worse. It now starts just above the knee cap and covers almost the whole upper thigh in front...no numbness or anything on the back of my leg.
Hi, I too have upper right quad pain just below my ribs. I am a male, 46yrs old 6ft and weigh 175 lbs. My pain comes and goes and has for about 6 months. It is not severe pain, but at times is more annoying than anything. It feels like there is something in there pinching me. I went to an internal med MD in July. He ran blood tests that all came back fine. He sent me to have an abdominal ultrasound which showed only "healthy" organs.
The last two times I've worked out I experienced a strange sensation in the back of my legs after exercise. It felt like tiny bubbles were popping all up and down the backs of my legs- especially in my thighs. It does not hurt in the least. In fact, it's actually a pleasant feeling. I stretch well before and after exercising. It is during the stretching that I notice the feeling, but I think it starts when I'm running. I'm just too busy to notice it then.
and now I'm finding that it's starting to spread down my legs to where I do actually shave below the knee. HELP!!!! Boating season is almost upon me and I'd really like to get out there in a bikini like everyone else instead of hiding beneath a cloak! LOL Thanks! Hi: I know itchy skin doesn't sound like a big problem, but my legs and arms itch like they were about to fall off everytime I take a shower. I don't have dry skin and I use Aveeno body lotion everyday to make sure I get enough moisture. The itching is like an intense tingling only on my arms and legs (mostly on my legs) and it's so bad that sometimes I just want to run yelling into the street.
