It started happening when I was around 18 and has stopped until about a month ago. The only time my legs itch are right after I shower and it lasts about 30 minutes. It hurts so bad sometimes that I am in tears. But that is the only time that is bothers me. I have tried wrapping my legs tightly in a towel and sitting down. I also sometimes will blow dry my legs when I dry my hair.
My lower legs tend to itch after a morning shower (or if water even touches my legs!). This is an uncontrollable itch that lasts for about 20-30 minutes. My doctor could not suggest any reason for it. I have found that aerobic exercising first thing in the morning for about 20-30 minutes (I jog), then shower with no problems. Dry body brushing also helps - perhaps it's a circulation problem?

i went thru a lot of posts here, n i can c dat a LOT of ppl get an itch after shower/swimming. well i too get extra itchy after a shower, but my legs itch otherwise also, for no rhyme or reason. although i havent tried any of the creams n lotions, i have been using herbal soaps for like my entire life, but this problem started just a month back. being a dietitian, i have already tried an elimination diet to check for food allergy, but NOPE. this thing isnt an allergy.
I used ice packs in the beginning, and then I started a cold water rinse on my lower legs with a hand held shower after my normal shower. After drying I applied the Sarna Creme. The itching has stopped. I'm not sure if is the cold water or the Sarna Cream, or a combination of the two. I use the cold water rinse after every shower now because I don't want to risk having the itcy legs return.
t have any allergies that I am aware of. the itching seems to happen after a shower and at night/in the morning ( I think because of temperature changes in my skin?). I don't know if I just have hypersensitive skin or what? it is odd that it would just come on out of the blue. It started last fall during the last trimester of my pregnancy. I considered that I may be allergic to the chlorine in my water? I may try to pick up a water filter. Does anyone know if these work?
Im glad Im not the only one with "itchy" legs. I have had "itchy" legs for years. I have been told it was all in my head. And have tired almost everything for dry itchy skin. Its mostly my lower legs, the front and side. Sometimes its my upper leg. When they itch, it feels like they are itchy from the bones. I end up itching them so much that I tear my legs open, and usually get a faint scar. They seem dry usually, but are as smooth and soft as my hands are.
I'm on my third pregnancy - 9 weeks - and my legs have been incredibly itchy, starting a week before I found out I was pregnant. Is this at all related to being pregnant? I never had this with my other two but I can't stop the itching - especially at night!
I tend to itch if I wear nylon, after a shower, after swimming, or just sometimes at any given moment without having done any of the above. What's funny though, if after swimming I get into the hot tub, I'm perfectly fine, no itching at all. I only have the itch on my lower legs; on occasion my thighs will itch but usually it's my lower leg.
My legs have been itchy every day since i was born. im 21 and i have always had itchy legs. when i was younger my family would all scream at me as once i started i couldnt seem to stop. the itching gets so bad that it annoys you and fustrates you and it becomes painfull.
My dad used to smack my legs where it was itching and it used to help but it didnt last too long only for about 5-10 mins and i would be scratching again.
Some other way is if i wear tight socks, but after I take it off, and of course after shower. Some othere time, it could just be something that day. No longer wear shorts onless i have to, because anything in contact with my leg or arm could trigger the itch. The way I cope with mine is by being alone away from everyone. That thing be so irritated, I don't wanna be around anything, I don't wanna see anything, I don't wanna talk to anyone.
Was it a new kind of condom? Maybe you're allergic to it, or to its lube.
(Incidentally, being in the shower doesn't mean you can't get pregnant if you have sex without a condom.
Why everytime I take a shower my legs itch uncontrollably? I've tried just about everything, but nothing seems to work. The first time it happened, I had been outside in very cold temperatures for about 15 minutes.
It was on my legs, arms, and under my belly button. If it is PUPPPs it either goes away after delivery or simply on its own. But your doctor can prescribe you with a safe antihistamine to help with scratching. I recommend witch hazel throughout the day, Cortisone 10 after drying off from a shower, and coconut oil in the shower as a body wash. Baths don't help it, this is something that needs to be dried out.
It is unlikely that having sex had anything to do with your breaking out in hives, including the unlikelihood of an allergy to semen. What you describe may or may not be hives; it might be a contact dermatitis in response to something else coming in contact with your legs.
If these lesions have not yet resolved you would be well advised to have them examined by a medical professional.
There is an ol ingredient that is extracted from coconutknown as coconut acid or sodium laureth sulfide which is used in most soap and shampoos to create that foamy lather, I find that those products that contains this ingredient causes me to itch uncontrollably after shower. My only relief from itchy get after shower is to avoid products containing that ingredient. I hope this might be helpful.
Please help me!! I am suffering very badly from itchy legs.. I have NO RASH!! It usually triggered from when i take a shower, and when i get out its like the sky caves in..my legs itch soooo bad! I have to put bags of frozen foods all over them to numb them so i don't scratch the heck out of them! However, it has been gettgin worse, they have been itching more and more and without needing a shower to trigger it.. Sometimes its when i lay down to go to bed, or when i wake up in the morning.
is anyone itchy I can't stop itching at all it's only my legs and I'm 17 weeks it's been going on since 14 weeks ugh I can't stop
