Common Questions and Answers about Itchy hands water

itchy

Avatar n tn The sebum keeps the water out when we wash our hands or take a quick shower. But when our skin is exposed to water for a longer time, the limited amount of sebum gets washed away. This is what happens when you take a bath, shower, swim, or wash the dishes. Once the sebum is washed away, water enters the outer layer of the skin by the process of osmosis. Most of our body is covered with hair and each hair follicle constantly produces sebum.
Avatar n tn I get itchy/burning/ purplish red hands & fingers when I get something from the refrigerator(or) freezer @ the store>>or when the temps get really cold outside...what can I do to protect myself from having these episodes?I usually have to run in the bathroom at the store and run warm water on my hands to get some relief and then I put hand cream on.
Avatar m tn Burning skin... (I've had itchy burning hands and soles of my feet) First, I'd spend the money on CeraVe' Soap, it's at the drug store, for your hands and the shower... Also, a 24 hour antihistamine, Allegra is the best then Zyrtec then Clariton, take any of the 3 that you can tolerate. Also, stay out of the heat, bright light bulbs, cover your self with a light shirt and pants.... a hat but you do not need to get heated like sweating....
Avatar f tn I've been getting small water blisters all over my body. At first it was just my hands and in between my fingers. Now it has spread to my elbows, legs, ankles, back, tops and bottoms of feet, in between my toes, elbows, palms and arms. It's extremely itchy and if you pop the water blister it just seems to come back and spread a little more. Once the rash is "done" in that area the scab thick and shiny.
Avatar n tn Hi, The past few years I have had this problem after I touch metal shopping carts or even the metal water faucet at a horse barn ( I'm guessing it has to be that). My hands itch extremely bad and begin to swell instantly and the swelling spreads up my arm. The past few times it has happened the severity is higher and the episodes last longer. Also it is becoming more frequent. Would this be an allergy or some type of deficiency ?Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello, It can be due to pompholyx but what is surprising is that it is affecting all family members and the condition is looking like scabies skin. The first stage is acute and presents as itchy blisters on the hands, fingers and toes. Then the chronic stage shows more peeling, cracking, or crusting. Then the skin heals up, or the blistering may start again. The exact cause is not known and excessive sweating can be one of the reasons.
Avatar f tn i run my hands under cold water a few times a day they go down and aren't as red and itchy they haven't gone away yet and idk if this works and cream makes it worse for me sorry if this doesn't work?
Avatar f tn When my hands are exposed to the cold they turn red and become swollen, sore and itchy. It's very much like an allergic reaction. In fact, the first time this happened I thought it was a reaction to some soap I had used. I was outside without gloves in 34 degree weather this morning for about 20 minutes. My hands had a reaction after about 10 minutes. I've always had cold hands and feet, but this is only the second time I've had this sort of reaction.
Avatar f tn They say you need to drink water water and more water for the fluid to flush out i am 31 weeks and going through it

800427 tn?1324945719 ive read about the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands becoming splotchy red and itchy while pregnant but mine are strictly the tops. I dont have a rash of hives or anything...the only bumps and cuts on them are from me scratching so much. I initially thought it must be from my feet and hands swelling due to all my water retention...but ive been having issues with the water retention for quite sometime and this itchiness just appeared out of nowhere...
Avatar f tn I try lotion, but it hurts and why put lotion on when I have tons of dishes to wash at work, sanatizer water, washing my hands? I just wash the lotion off seconds after I put it on anyway. I work in a cafe at Barnes and Noble, so my hands are constantly in sanatizer water and soap. A customer told me try vaseline. Put it on at night and wear gloves. Another told me to try something else, I can't remember. But she also said to get gloves to wear while I wash dishes.
Avatar n tn Once i see this circle, i know that i am going to be getting itchy and tingling feeling on my hands, feet and inner thighs. It is very itchy and once i scratch it alot, red blotches appear. The only thing that feels good is to burn my hands under hot water or heat. Please help me!
Avatar f tn Do you have any rashiness on them? Any spots or bumps? Does it get worse when washing dishes or hands in warm/hot water? Hand eczema is a common disorder that can be treated with steroid based creams...research pictures of it on the web. I have had that for 5 years now, and my hands itch every day, so bad that the skin will get cracked and bleed, if I don't use the medication every day. It's unknown what the specific cause is, but many times it's related to an allergen.
Avatar n tn I am a 38 yr old female and for the past 2 yrs the palm of my hands peel every three months and the last time it is going up my fingers it lasts for about 10days. It is not let up this time. I have moved cross country in the past yr so it is not environment or medication. It doesn't look like the picture of psoriasis. It looks like a peel after you have had a sunburn some slow some little pieces. it is not painful, but a little itchy. Please help. Thank you!
Avatar n tn I have 2 bowls of water, 1 icy cold, and 1 as hot as I can hanlde. I submerge my hands (or feet) in the hot water for 3 minutes, then straight into the cold for 30 seconds. I repeat this about 3 times. Believe me, it DOES sting when you swap between the temperatures and your hands feel swollen at the end. But after you dry them off and whack some moisturiser on, they start feeling awesome! I do this once a day until my hands have cleared (usually a few days).
Avatar m tn Not sure if this is an MS symptom or not but i get very itchy hands and feet. So bad i cannot stop scratching, this happens a few times a week and the only way to stop it is to stop scratching and it will eventually go on its own. Also getting this odd cold. frozen patch on my face, only occasionally and only lasts a few minutes but this is something that has not happened to me before.
Avatar n tn I have a case of itchy hands. I can't help but itch, and I get to the point when I keep itching, that I start forming little white bloches, and bumps all in between and around my fingetrs, palms, wrists, and anywhere else on my hands~!! I've tried to convince my mom to take me to the clinic, but she thinks it's a bad case of dry skin.

Avatar f tn So, I find myself stuck wide awake at 2am with itchy hands that I can't seem to scratch. The itch can be so severe that I feel like I'm going insane. I took a couple ibuprofens for pain/inflammation. No relief. I took a couple benadryl for allergic reaction. No relief. Anyone have any ideas on possible relief?

Avatar n tn I had this before so I think this is wierd... I keep having small blisters of water in my left hand fingers, when I asked someone about it a friend told me it was an alergy, but now its the third time I have this and it has passed to my knuckles and Im getting a lot of small blisters... some times its itchy and burns... what could it be?
Avatar f tn If you have any doubts always bring up your concerns with your doctor. I get itchy skin sometimes usually when it's dry, I don't drink enough water, I eat bad, don't get enough rest. It itches at first then becomes a dry/scaly patch. With some TLC and lotion, it goes away. This is my second pregnancy and I have noticed that my eczema flares up more often as well. Normally when I'm not pregnant, I only get it when I'm super stressed or tired.
