Avatar f tn I've had this problem since October it's happened 3 times. My eyes will be fine, then without warning they'll both get VERY puffy and itchy and the undereye area and eyelid area will turn red, EXTREMELY DRY, flaky, itchy. It's so annoying. No changes in facial/makeup...someone told me it's probably hormonal since I'm 49 and still experiencing menopause.
509215 tn?1363535823 I have a question about being allergic to sunscreen. A few months ago, I decided to try to start using sunscreen to protect my face from the sun. I tried "Coppertone oil free facial sunscreen" over a few weeks time. Right from the start,I had itchiness. After a few days of using it, I noticed a burning feeling on my cheeks. I stopped using it for a few days, then tried it again, thinking it might have been the makeup I was using along with it.
Avatar f tn and worst of all, since about last week, my eyes have become very red (bloodshot). And lately my eyes are becoming more and more itchy everyday. (+ alot more symptoms, ranging from rashes to nausea...). I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what it could be, and what I can take to relief the itching? Thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn Personally I would not recommend using hydrocortisone cream near your eyes. The skin around the eyes is already thin and hydrocortisone creams thin the skin so care needs to be taken when using this type of cream. It appears that you may have an allergic reaction to something. I would suggest you see your doctor for a correct diagnosis and for him to prescribe the appropriate medication for you. In the meantime do not use any make ups or eye make up.
Avatar m tn When I do itch them, they would swell and by the morning become crusty on my upper and lower eyelids and leaves dark stains around them. Today I got severe itchy and swollen patches under my eye and my inner eyes are really ichy, is this an allergic reaction from something i ate (even though i'm not allergic to any foods) or from my makeup, or is this some type of disease?
Avatar n tn I had an itchy left eye (not much in the right eye) for several days. Oral antihistamine did not work, neither did some dated eye moistener (not sure if fresh would work better) and one other OTC eye drop. Got no relief. Next I tried Similasan Allergy Eye Relief. My eye improved immediately and after three or four days of using these drop 3 or 4 times a day and the itch is gone. I have used the drops only once a day, some days not at all. Not sure it was allergic or something else.
Avatar f tn I've had similar issues worsening over the past few years. Thinking back, it all seemed to start when I began using bare minerals (mild at first almost not noticeable, worsened significantly after my second baby. Thought it might be the move from NY to NC and all the new pollens-but I've never had allergies before. Been to the doctor, allergist and eye doctor. Had patch testing (all negative).
Avatar m tn I have tried all the alllergy meds over the counter, washing my eyes out every morning with sterile eye drops, , changed my pillow cases regularly, vaccuum every day. Change all my makeup, go wit out makeup.. Nothing really seems to matter. What is happening , what can I do to make them stop swelling and itching??? Help.. it's aweful.!
Avatar n tn I had lasik back in 02 & never had a problem--had white eyes & never dry. Just used OTC generic artificial tears here & there. Then in 5/08, I develop. red eyes & had a prominent vessel in my left eye. Eye dr. said it was strain from studying for my MBA and should go away on its own. He took eye tests and put me on restasis. The redness went away but the prominent vessel stayed. It's still there to this day & the eye dr.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, For the entire summer, I've been dealing with escalating skin issues. It started out as itchy, irritated skin on my eyelids. I've been to the dermatologist twice and used Locoid Lipocream once a day. Things got a little better but never went away. Then she gave me Mupirocin to use once a day. Same issue - got more manageable, but never went away. On my own, I've been taking flax oil daily and using pure vitamin E oil on my eyelids and undereye area.
Avatar n tn I have had 3 on my left eye and they are extremely itchy and painful. I do not wear any makeup and clean my face regularly. Is there anything I can do besides just wait for it to go away and come back again, or could there be something else going resulting in the recurring styes? I would like to state that I know you cannot give me a definite answer since this is online and not in person, but I will be grateful for any advice. Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn My most recent allergic reaction (2 weeks ago) - Felt fine all morning, did not eat anything before reaction occurred - Sat in an outdoor area, began to develop burning ears, inner ear pain, swelling eyes, hives on neck, inner arm, armpits, back of legs (none of which were itchy) - No feelings of sickness, no difficulty in breathing etc, merely external symptoms - Blood tested for outdoor allergens (all negative) HOWEVER IgE at 800 instead of normal 100 2.
Avatar f tn She told me to use Lamisil, and I did and stoped wearing makeup and it helped, but they are still kinda itchy. There are so many other people with this problem, I just really hope someone has an answer.
Avatar f tn hello all -- I have had bouts of a allergic reaction to something-- don't know if it's food or what. It starts with itchy and scaly eyelids and then it leads wrinkles & swelling under my eyes. I also get dry, rough lips with cracking at the ends of my lips. I am just so frustrated b/c I don't know if it is something I am eating or my makeup. I have tried food allergy tests, detox programs, allergy patch testing.
Avatar f tn The irritation moved up to my eyelid creases only, so my eyelid creases were droopy swollen and itchy! My eyes looked droopy and saggy all the time and it was impossible to wear makeup because it would just transfer to my crease. I basically didn't use anything for another 3ish months because I had NO idea what to do! So i just lived with the ugly eyelids for that time. I saw my uncle again in July and he prescribed fucidin for my nasty lids.
Avatar m tn I suffer from the exact same thing with the inside corner of my eye driving me crazy at times it itches so bad. What has helped me is Rx eye drops called Pataday. It is for itchy allergy eyes, and sometimes I put a drop or two on the end of a q-tip and dab it in that corner of my eye and sometimes I put the drop directly into the eye. Works wonders. Whether it is allergy or irritation of some sort, the drops take the itch away for me. I hope this works for you.
Avatar f tn Nearly 3 weeks ago I awoke with extremely swollen eyes. (So swollen that even the bridge of my nose was larger than normal) The swelling subsided (did not ever fully go away) but my eyelids remained itchy, red and warm to the touch. A few days later my eyelids seemed to be ok other than extremely dry skin in the corners and upper brow area. My lids have remained slightly itchy since that day with a flare up last night and into today.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I suggest that instead of using makeup removers or other oily products to remove their makeup, that they instead use a mild, non-creamy facial cleanser. Simply tell these patients to close their eyes and gently wash their eyelids with their fingertips. If heavier makeup is worn, the patient may need to wash and rinse twice.
Avatar n tn This was a Victoria Jackson makeup set with all the freebies that there pushing in WH Smiths. After using the makeup my wifes eyelids became swollen(baggy) , itchy and flaky a few days later. She immediately stopped using the products and we then began racking our brains as to why this had happened again and what thelink was (if any ) between the nivea creme and the Victoria Jackson cosmetics .Theres a couple of chemicals in both which is magnesium stearate and linaloo.
1008856 tn?1250634650 It also makes the sides of my face itchy but my eyes never have problems. Sometimes the night before it happens they get real dry and itchy. I figured it was my pillows since I normally use Febreze Allergen Reducer and had changed the brand, so I switched back to Febreze. I also washed my bedding and pillow cases to help.
Avatar n tn For the past 2 days my left eye has been insanely itchy! It's not bloodshot, there's not gunk in it or anything, and no pain, just itchy as hell. My other eye is completely fine - no itching or anything. I do wear contacts but haven't changed anything with them in terms of brand or anything. Initially I thought it was the contact so I put a fresh pair in this morning but still my eye is still so itchy. If I itch it like I want to then it gets really swollen and even bruised a little.
