I have been experiencing persistant dry, red, itchy eyes for about 5 weeks now. They appeared after a trip and i noticed them after i turned the air conditioner on during the plane ride back. Within two days I was waking up with clear mucousy discharge and painfully itchy red eyes. I went to a local opthamologist (well kinda, turns out she wasnt a certified/educated opth, and im in Kuwait) I was put on a weeks worth of broad spectrum antibiotic drops that only made them worse.
-My UPPER inner eyelids are itchy, and that too mainly in the corners. - I DON'T have red eyes/reddened areas or anything red. (or any color for that matter) - I DON'T have swollen eyes/inflamation, of any sort. - I DON'T tear up excessively or have any discharges. - I itch alot, and have tried to pull my upper eyelid and scratch the inner layer because that's how much it itches!!!
I woke up and my left eye was red not itchy or painful and no discharge..I put visine eye drop in it like three times daily both in my left and right eye just in case...now three days later both my eyes are red(rebound tenderness)..but the left eye with the original lesion is now painful..

i month ago I noticed that my eyes started to become red basically i'm seeing a lot of blood veins on white color part of the eye , when I went to eye doctor he checked both of my eyes and said it's probably irritation on contact lenses, since that day I didn't wear my contact for 2 and half week + I was taking eye drops that doctor told me to take but redness don't go away. The eyes feel very tired but not itchy , i start developing headaches and my vision reduced a little. What can it be?
Mine get reddish round the edges but not the whites, they are dry and itchy all the time, I do get allergies so assumed that was it.
There are physical reasons why the eye can be red with thyroid disease a frequent cause. Hopefully not you but alcohol and illegal drugs including pot can cause the eyes to be chronically red.
Now all around her eyes is swollen and unbearably itchy, the skin all over her face is dry and rough, it is itching so much so that she can
At first I thought the itchy eyes were just a result of a cold. Fortunately, I never did develop a cold but the eyes issues continue. They are dry but water, or tear I should say. They are red all around my lids. They burn and itch. I have no idea what it could be or what to do. I've never had this problem before and I'm 28. Is this some time of late onset eye issue? I don't have insurance so I can't go to a doctor. Anything I can do from home to make this less of an issue?
It lasted up to almost my end of the medications and treatment term. My eyes started out around the second month of being very dry and itchy; dry and itchy on the outside skin around my eyes. I didn't have trouble with my vision or inside of my eyes, at that point. About the 5th month of the meds, the itchy skin and very dry skin was still a problem. My GI prescribed Elidel cream, which helped somewhat but not completely.
My eyes are always a bit dry, a bit red, a bit itchy and there is a slight pressure/pain. They are a bit puffy and half open... I look perpetually high. It cracks my husband up big time, and me too.... And it's not that I'm not getting enough sleep or anything... I don't know which one causes it.
The red colour is gone, my eyes are still itchy but not nearly as bad. I was on it once before and it worked like a miracle for me. I know Prenisone is a fairly "dangerous" drug and not to be taken lightly. However, I wonder if there's a chance that I could take a small dose on a daily basis.....sort of a maintenance program. Do you have any thoughts on that? Thank you so much.....
This morning I woke up and then I noticed red itchy patches under both of my eyes near the corner. pls advise me I tried coconut oil. but they are not gone completely.
It has only been a couple days but, when i was useing a make-up remover under my eyes were getting really raw and swollen so i stopped doing that and switched. I started using baby oil, and cotton pads and all of the sudden my eye lids and under my eyes began to itch, become red and swollen. Now my eye balls themselves are not irrated but i just wanted to know if it could be something else. What should i do?
I used a washcloth compress to get the swelling down and the eyes continued to be red and swollen and itchy and I noticed little blisters kind of like what I get when I wear cheap jewelry and get a chemical reaction from the metal. I have tried some Zatidor eyedrops-antihistime twice daily. It does seem to help a little inside the eye (very little).

I had this same problem when I was on Accutane, but it went away once i was off the drug. Now it is back and I have been off accutane for over a year. My eyes are not itchy, and there is no discharge to indicate pink-eye. I was tested by an allergist for enviornmental and food allergies and all were negative. I have switched my eye cream and eye make-up in case it was related, but it is still not better. Suggestions?
but some of them can help a lot. The Aveeno line is good but not as good as the Gold Bond I dont think personally. Best of luck - we know what you are going through!
Hi, I have been to the Doctor 3 times in the past month with these symptoms: Itchy Red puffy and swollen eyelids, and the same under the eye. It almost makes a perfect circle, but has scattered rough/dry patches all over the eye area and leading down to my cheeks. I have been placed on every imaginable allergy medication along with MethyIPREDNISolone tablets at 4mg each.
) Has anyone experienced prolonged red/irritated eyes while coming off of these? I mean, seriously, my eyes are red ALL day long and it is becoming quite annoying!! When will it go away? It has to be the toxins still coming out of my body right? I have never had eye problems before this, so I cannot think of anything else it could be. I also have a red spot in my eye that will not go away either.
