Itchy ears no wax

Common Questions and Answers about Itchy ears no wax

Maybe you have an inner ear infection or possibly wax build-up??? My brother had vertigo and his Doc seemed to think it was because of major wax build-up. After he cleaned his ears out the sx. eased off. It's worth looking into.....good luck.
He told me there was absolutely nothing wrong, no infection, no punctured ear drum, and no wax build up. He said I was probably getting water in my ears from the shower and it was draining at night. I have been showering for 50 yrs and never had this problem. I read on another forum (regarding same thing) to use vaseline on a q-tip. Doctor said this did not sound like a good idea. My room mate decided to try it and is cured. I started doing it myself this morning. no itching.
Before, it was light yellow with a foul smell but now it is almost clear and has almost no smell. I wake up with clumps/flakes of yellow wax sometimes, so I am not really sure what's going on. I do use q-tips sometimes however I've been trying to avoid them. There isnt any pain, just itchyness. Every time I go to the doctors (usually for other reasons than my ear but I always ask them to look at it) they say nothing is wrong. Any suggestions? It's embarrassing to have a leaking ear!
I just posted for first time to this forum w/ question for my husband but saw your post and had to respond:-) Major issue for me and (was) seeing an ear Dr regularly for it. I have really small ear canals and have always had trouble clearing ear wax. Problem has gotten worse as I've gotten older.Got all sorts of different suggestions/advice ranging from being told I have excema in my ears which causes flakes, itch then infections from my itching them....usually wake up from sleep itching them.
And she has runny eyes (it is a clear discharge) and she has itchy, waxy ears. If she were a human I would think that she has hay-fever or some other allergy. But I am unable to identify what it could possibly be. As I said this does happen occasionally and each time terrifies me - as in the past she had the calicivirus - for which she was hospitalized over 10 days and was in critical condition. As a result she is on a daily regime of L-Lysine to keep the calicivirus under control.
I have discovered (after a ton of research) a home solution for my itchy ears which is astounding me. It has now been a month since I started this and I seem to be on the road to relief. If this helps even just one person here that is suffering like I was then I am glad to have helped. Get a small dispenser bottle that has a wide mouth, with a lid, and with which you will be able to dip a q-tip into.
then i became dizzy and later had a terrible headache , woke up with the noise in L day. the doc checked out my ears fully and no eardrum damage , brain Mri was normal and little bones in ear , normal.........there is a little fluid in L ear canal or mid ear....but not a whole lot ..... so doc put me on nasacort and ibuprofen.........helped bring down a lymphgland knot i had under my ear but the ringing is still there, i noticed the nasacort made it louder!
I have had a mild cought the last few weeks and we are having a record high pollen season here in Tucson which is when my problems started. My ears are very itchy today as well. Left ear is doing ok, just itchy. Right ear still full, but I can pop for a second if I try plugging my nose and blowing gently. How long do these issues usually take to resolve? Is there anything else I could be doing? I'll update after my ENT appointment tomorrow morning. Thanks very much.
There usually isn't any other fluid in your ears besides ear wax, which can be a variety of colors/textures. If her ENT isn't concerned, and she doesn't have any other symptoms...maybe she could try putting either cotton balls or ear plugs in her ears at night so she doesn't feel the fluid come out? Best of luck!
my six year old came home from school with lice 10 days ago, and about the same time I noticed that the inside of my nose was really itchy and my ears feel itchy and full as well. Do lice nest in your nose and ears? My daughter has extremely curly textured hair, and it has been quite a challenge to get rid of all the nits......
when I found this site/post.. About a year ago I got a cold (no big deal, I get about one a year) but my blocked ears have never gone away. It has literally been a year for me as well and, as I am usually a very healthy person with no allergies, it is driving me insane. I have been to my doctor who said I might have some fluid in my ears and to try sudafed. Used it again and again and it did not work. Then I was prescribed flonase. Also did not work.
I went to an ENT who said that there is nothing visibly wrong with my ears (no inflammation, no wax, etc). She sent me to an audiologist that said the pressure in my ears and my hearing are both fine. However, I still feel the pressure and the squeaking, plus mild pain. I do have TMJ, but I wear a night guard nightly and do not chew gum. Does anyone have any input they could provide? Anything would be appreciated!!
I have the same situation. It started a little while after I gave birth. It is only an itchy inner labia. no other side affects. I was tested for a yeast and bacteria infections. My ob-gyn has no clue (I went to 2). It comes and goes and is itchy!! I can not figure this out!!!
Hi, you have the exact symptoms I have now, the scaby neck and behind the ears, the scabby itchy ears and the pin pricks on the end of my finger which looks like splinters but isn't. Did you find out what this was!? Or has anyone else had the same??
If I drank a lot of beer, I would get the clear fluid that everyone is talking about in this discussion and my ears would be so itchy that they would wake me up. I no longer drink beer and my ears have been pretty good for the most part (they are sooo much better than they had been for the 3 years or so before I stopped drinking beer). But...
said....Actually, studies suggest that "was" in the ears is not simple at all -- didn't CDM have that problem at one point? I was, but once i crawled out the other side, problem solved.
A few months back my left ear started itching on the top ridge and back of ear. At first it was minor itching, then it became horribly itchy and I noticed there were hard lumps IN my ear. You cannot even see them, you can only feel them, they are like bb's and they are in the back of my ear and on the ridge. I also noticed over time that my left ear was always HOT. And another problem is that despite how itchy it is, it HURTS if i scrach even a little hard.
I am living in Australia and when i started working for this company in an office enviroment i started noticing this weird itch around my nose, up fore head and ears. it also gets itchy all over my body but not as much. i have no visible rash, bites or any marks what so ever. it also is contagious and i notice people around itching there faces around there nose and ears when i dont even itch myself. i havnt noticed any pattern to when it is worse but it is pretty contstant.
Recently I havent even be able to use my usual lip balm as my lips react to that as well and my eyes are puffing up and getting extremly itchy and stinging. I was heading overseas for 3 weeks and the doctor have me some tablets to take to clear up my lips as she said they looked like they had a staff infection. Whilst I was OS all my symptoms cleared up completely and within 2 days of returing home everything started up again!
Up until mid January of 2005, I was a healthy male of 35 years with no prior major illnesses. Around December of 2004, I first noticed some "twinge"-like sensations in my left temple and I experienced periodic eye strain. I visited an optometrist, who found nothing other than myopia (-1.50 in both eyes). She did off-handedly mention "scarring" in the back of my right eye, as though from a past trauma.
), I found that that evening my eye was itchy. The next morning my upper eye lid along my eye lashes was red and swollen. no eye make up or contacts here. I also do not have dry skin near my eye at all. And I have never had any problems with allergies. I want to rub the heck out of it and am trying to refrain. I'm not sure that this is the same as everyone else but just thought I'd add in case anyone has any ideas for me.
it is not inside the nostril either it is in the cartilidge. nothing has happened to me and this makes no sense. I have no other symptoms. no fever no bleeding no runny nose or wattery eyes. has anyone gotten a bona fide medical opinion on this?? seems pretty odd to me...

The list ER i went to the doctor told me I had a lot of wax in my ears I went home and used a ear wax removal kit but no wax was out and still the same problem! What sholud I do. Also for the past 3 months I have been getting a rash around my neck. Do you know wht this might be?
There may be infection or a foreign object such as a small piece of grass or ball of wax deeper in the ear canal. Sometimes dogs with food or pollen/dust allergies have itchy, pink ears as well. The ear cleaner was a good start, but since his symptoms have persisted despite the ear cleaner, I recommend taking him into your veterinarian for otoscopic examination and treatment. Good luck, Kimberly Coyner, DVM DACVD www.dermvetvegas.
Dermatologist gave me a script to deal with it. I believe it is related to stress. My ears will feel clogged, itchy, filled with water or ring...lots of fun with them. Always goes away. Have seen ear doctor who removed wax and that was a help. My hearing is perfect, so think it is one more physical manifestation of stress.
A couple of weeks ago I had my ears candled, there was a loud pop in my ear...someone told me it was just a breakthrough of some wax. There was a big dark colored chunk in the candle when the session was over. ..........I also recently did cocaine. 3 days after I developed an itchy ear. I was dizzy and nothing really tasted right. I'm a fairly energetic person and I slept the whole day.
Then it is okay for a couple of days or a week tops and the whole thing starts over again. itchy, leaking ears - then scrating and pulling out chunks - then the next appointment to get it all removed again, and more lotions creams ect. I've even tried my own approach of vinager & water flush and then monistat cream as I read somewhere that it could be because of too much candida yeast in my system - it didn't work.
