Common Questions and Answers about Itchy ears ear plugs

itchy

Avatar f tn I went to a concert last saturday and I was by the stage, near the speaker(s). As a result, I sustained a ringing in my ears for a little over a day. I'm concerned about how much damage I could have done to my ears. Ironically, I'm an audio engineering student and we are currently learning about loud sounds and its effects on hearing. So, after the ringing in my ears went away, I started feeling a little discomfort in my ears, specifically my right ear.
Avatar n tn Found out my neighbor has one of those magnifying ear glass probe, and she looked inside both my ears, and said they looked pretty clean, but, she could see water moister in the formerly clogged ear. She suggested using 1/2 distilled vinegar and 1/2 rubbing alchohol, eyedrop that into the ear, and that should dry up the moisture. I didn't do that, but, I guess it makes sense. Anyway, the ear is now unclogged and not infected! I can hear again!
Avatar n tn I use a fan at night plus a tv to block noise. I used to wear ear plugs which were the wax kind but kept getting ear infections so quit. My noise sensitivity has increased where it almost hurts even general noise and causes extreme anxiety. I want to try ear plugs again but not the wax kind and I was wondering if there are any suggestions. I have used foam kind before and they don't seem to work well. Is there a specific brand or any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Hi 1) why would you think your girlfriend is infected with chlamydia again? 2) the answer to your main question is no. 3) the anser to your question about peroxide is you shouldn't worry about it, as chlamydia is NOT transmittable through ears or ear wax/ear wax&blood. You have to have sex to get chlamydia.
Avatar f tn No I have ear tubes put in my ears back in Aug.
Avatar n tn Once he is over this infection he may want to consider getting some custom fit IEMs (In ear monitors) that I would imagine would cause less pressure in the ears. (Which I believe, would be less prone to irritate the ear canal.) Custom fit IEMs can be provided by: Westone Ultimateears Starkey FullCircle FullCircle is a new company that provides very high quality custom IEMs but are fabricated in Asia so the costs are at least 50% cheaper than the IEMs made in America.
Avatar f tn I have been hypersensitive to loud noise and certain frequencies (like a whistle....AGONY!!) I also work in a loud bar, by the end of the night I feel awful!! I started wearing a "snow bunny" out fit so I could wear earmuffs. Then, someone told me to try the earplugs for swimmers that are like a clear putty that I can put over top of my ear. I can't put earplugs in my ears, it hurts too much. I hope this helps and am interested in any other solutions.
Avatar n tn Chronic sin. does not really indicate what your hearing status is. But lets assume you have conductive hearing loss due to the sin. A conductive hearing loss would mean that you have a build up of fluid within your middle ear cavity that causes a temporary hearing loss. The hearing will return back to normal when the fluid is gone. Now that said, if you do have a conductive hearing loss, then you essentially already have "ear plugs" on.
1372727 tn?1279195840 I've been suffering with this itchy ear thing for far too long and it drives me almost crazy. I went into a pharmacy and talked to druggist one day and explained it to her and she said it sounded like an alergy and gave me some over the counter Loratadine Tables, used for indoor and outdoor allergies and it does work for me if I don't forget to take it, that is.
Avatar m tn your anxiety, start using ear plugs.
Avatar m tn A couple of months ago I began to notice that the music in the car on my dives to/from work wasn't sounding the same, to be specific it sounded like someone had turned the treble or mid up on the equalizer. I thought that maybe it was the car stereo acting funny but I after trying out the stereo in our other vehicle as well as our stereo at home, I've realized that it's a problem with whatever I'm listening to.
Avatar f tn With tubes in your ears, its really important that you keep your ears dry and not allow water into them. Are you using ear plugs when bathing? Water entering the middle ear through the tubes can cause infections. Does your physician know that you are continuing to have ear infections with the tubes in place?
Avatar f tn And if it is really bad, then I get up and snooze for a bit in the guest room or on the couch. But try the fan. I do like ear plugs but have difficulty keeping them in my ears. I have used the squishy kind with the best of luck but still have to keep putting them back in. But the fan does seem to really help me.
Avatar n tn For you sake, Nick, go out and buy a pair of Custom Ear-plugs or good ear-plugs. I am sure you will notice the to certain sound increase with an ear-plug one since I am the same, and it helps me. Ear-plug will also help prevent your ear from getting worst.
773667 tn?1235345664 I would say I spent about 20 minutes in the danger zone but the ear plugs never left my ears once. I was using disposable foam ear plugs with a NRR of 33. They didn't seem to worsen last night but my tinnitus seems worse today than yesterday. 7. I can hear my jaw crack in my ears whenever i open it, eat, even randomly. I can also hear the cracking of my neck when I roll my head around, after reading some symptoms of TMJ i believe i have that as well...
Avatar n tn I still have huge ringing in both ears and should have worn ear plugs as well! It was only after leaving that I noticed they sold ear plugs for $2.50 at the counter. WEAR THE PLUGS AND THE MUFFS TOGETHER!! if you don't you will have the same problems I am now having. I also eperience a "blown speaker" sound in my left ear, from prior damage years ago (simply from too many loud rock concerts, I presume).
Avatar n tn I have a 4 month old cockapoo who has chronic itchy ears. We've been to the vet twice who says there is no infection or mites. I have been using witch hazel ear wipes that don't seem to help. I'm thinking it is allergy related. What are the ingredients I should be looking at eliminating? She is very finicky. I've yet to find a food she likes. She doesn't like any treats, other than cheese. Could the cheese be an allergen? Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Fluid behind the ear is secondary to infection in the throat or nose which can cause a backwater effect and block a tube called eustachian tube (which has easy access to ear, nose and throat and lies at the back of the nose) and thereby leads to absorption of air in the middle ear and it is replaced by a sterile fluid in the middle ear.If your ear drum is intact, then the two infections are not related to one incident.
Avatar m tn which are ear plugs that apparantly are supposed to reduce ear pressure, but I would like to hear your opinion.
Avatar f tn Month 5, I was still suffering from ear popping and my hearing started to seem muffled and lots of ear pressure and fullness in both ears. I saw an ENT who had nothing to say or helped at all. He said I have ETD and good luck. Only suggested an ear popper device. I bought an ear popper which costed me almost $200. It works ... but only for a few minutes because my ears will feel pressure and full again. It is like I have to use this device 24/7. Month 12, It is now June 2015 ..
288415 tn?1231630502 I am the type to get swimmers ear from showers. I have a simular problem with gunk and itchy ears. I am unable to hear unless my ear is directed at what I am trying to hear. Some times they get so bad I have to go to the ENT specialist and have stuff suctioned from my ear once a week for about six weeks. Regular eardrops whether it is antibiotics, steroids, or whatever only make the situation worse. I got Domboro drops which helped with the goo. My ears still get dry and flakey.
Avatar f tn Looks like I will be trying this, will have to buy ear plugs though... I can not stand wind in my ears makes me feel like I have an earache. But The air flow sounds like it feels good!
