Hi everyone, I have had ringing in the ears for a year before I treated and some vertigo from time to time. Mostly when I was trying to quit smoking the patch made it worse. I started treatment of peg and ribiviran last september and treated 9 months I had to quit treatment due to the side's. I did what I could. well it has been 4 weeks and I feel real good now. but my ears are starting to ring again. is this from the Hep C? Has anyone experienced this?
But for the past year or two I've had EXTREMELY itchy ears. Both of my inner ears get these irresistible itches. I use qtips all the time and I know that's so horrible but they're the only things that help me relieve the itches.I wake up in the middle of the night with the most crazy itches and it drives me insane! I hate being in public and getting ear itches because there's nothing I can do. I usually just close my ear & wait for it to go away but that's hard.
) I was told I needed surgery to widen my canal (shave the bone growth I also had due to surfing in cold water). I was ready for surgery because my ears were clogged more often then open (and I can totally relate to the sleeping on one side and having that ear clog up as a result. Been there and done that a lot). I decided to bag surgery a bit longer and live w/ the clogged ear for a while longer.
I have discovered (after a ton of research) a home solution for my itchy ears which is astounding me. It has now been a month since I started this and I seem to be on the road to relief. If this helps even just one person here that is suffering like I was then I am glad to have helped. Get a small dispenser bottle that has a wide mouth, with a lid, and with which you will be able to dip a q-tip into.
Hi MelO326. I have this ringing swishing sound in both ears. I will be 45 in a couple of weeks and I do not know what it is like to not have it; but, it is aggravating nonetheless; esp. when lying down to go to sleep at night. Sometimes, it is worse than other times. Especially, when I have a head cold, sinus, the few days leading up to my period, etc. and there are times I will get lightheadnes and or dizzy spells that can last up to 3 days and nights....had that to happen just last week.
Hi, I have for the past few days started to get cold like symptons, started with a sore throat, then blocked ears and blocked nose and now my right eye look red and feels a bit itchy. I have taken my contact len out in this eye and am wearing my glasses for a few days until my symptons clear. Do you think this is just because I have a cold that my eyes are itchy and dry and a little tired? Does a cold affect your eyes?
I got my flu shot two months ago and I have itchy ears on the inside that's impossible to itch my chest is itchy and kinda hard to breathe. And I have a cough :-( I hope it doesn't hurt the baby.
Hello so far for almost 2 wks ive had a cold and cough it first started off as your general common cold or possable sinus infection ? had runny nose ,pressure in forehead, itchy raw throat , sneezing, and a little bit of acheyness and a dry cough when i first started to cough i coughed up some greenesh brown phlem . as the days went by my cough started to sound like i was gargling, and nothing else was coming up, i would feel my chest rattle . then i noticed my right eye having pressure in it.
when I found this site/post.. About a year ago I got a cold (no big deal, I get about one a year) but my blocked ears have never gone away. It has literally been a year for me as well and, as I am usually a very healthy person with no allergies, it is driving me insane. I have been to my doctor who said I might have some fluid in my ears and to try sudafed. Used it again and again and it did not work. Then I was prescribed flonase. Also did not work.
Hi, Your symptoms are suggestive of sinusitis. Cold, nasal congestion, blocked ears, headache are symptoms of acute sinusitis. I would suggest you to take steam inhalation at least 3-4 times a day and once before bedtime. Drink plenty of warm fluids like soups etc. OTC decongestants will also provide relief. The red rash may be due to allergy or insect bite. Allergy is a possibility if what you have is allergic sinusitis.
On my left foot my toes have become swollen and horribly itchy and painful. Hurts to sleep walk or wear shoes. It's has happened in the warmer months too not just the winter months... I've been to a doctor and they gave me antibiotics which didn't help. Any thoughts?
As they tumble out onto the porch BAM...Snydley is cold cocked by Grow a Date which was still swinging. Dori unties you and you are EVER so grateful and you start to clean up the mess. Snydley wakes up and pulls his gun. Just as he is about to shoot they see YOU inside....You have remembered that its "shot Night" and have exposed your belly to do the "Deed". Well.....
For 3 days I've had an itchy throat with a cough that brings up little mucas, sometimes a runny nose but doesn't last long. Mild headaches and itchy ears... only a few aches every now an then.. could this be phemonia or something else?
Also, I noticed that this happens only on my cheeks. Not my neck, forehead, hands, or ears, which are also exposed to the cold. Any ideas as to what may be causing this reaction??
It results in patches of red, swollen and itchy skin that are thought to be caused by a combination of cold weather and poor circulation. The maximum risk is seen in extremities such as the toes, fingers, nose and ear lobes. Elderly or sedentary people, and those with conditions such as anemia, are most susceptible. This condition however, doesn’t cause any permanent damage to tissue.
My DD is 1 and she was having the same thing, along with myself. Runny nose, cough, watery eyes, itchy ears. The works, we even had fevers. Went to her ped, she said it was allerigies put her on childern's Zertec and Childern's Bendryal. It's working OK, but not clearing everything up 100%. Still a pretty runny nose, but congestion and coughing seem to be reduced. The doctor said it could be until summer that she'll need to be on these.

Anytime she gets into cold water, outside in the cold or the air conditioning she breaks out in these huge itchy hives. They have tested her for Lupus, Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, she has had an MRI done to see that her hypothalamus is working correctly and several other tests. This past summer she broke out while in the swimming pool, when she got out to get warm it must have been too drastic a change in temperature because she went into a seizure. Since then she is afraid to swim.
Every time you get a cold, notice how it usually starts in the throat with a tickle, a scratch, or a slight cough. It then progresses into chest congestion or travels up into the ears and the sinuses. You’ll have a low grade fever, mild chills, and a runny nose. Even if you start out with a runny nose, eventually, you’ll have throat symptoms later on. Sounds like a classic cold, right?
Hi, welcome to the forum, your condition seems to be allergy related and is suggestive of Atopic dermatitis (AD), which is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder. There is abnormal barrier presents in the skin which gets disrupted upon exposure to the allergen. The allergen can be in the form of excessive bathing, low humidity environments, emotional stress, xerosis (dry skin), overheating of skin, and exposure to solvents and detergents.
Our dachshund/chihuaua has black sores on the bottom of her ears. We took her to the vet and she didn't know what it was. She gave her a shot of some kind and Mupirocin ointment but it didn't do anything. She also suggested that it could be her food so we changed her food and the lady at the pet store recommended Calm Coat (a natural topical spray) but it still isn't healing. How do we find out what it is without spending a lot of money we don't have?
Hi I'm a 52 year old woman who has had an itchy rash on either my left or right elbow for the last year now. I showed it to my PCP (who is a nurse practitioner) and he said "Hmmm... it almost looks like poison ivy" Which I know it is not from poison ivy as it was in the middle of a cold New Hamphshire winter when it came on. He recommended taking an anti histamine, which does help the itch and when I take the anti histamines around the clock it takes the rash away.
I have recurrent cold symptoms during my period. I have noticed the symptoms for about a year but for the last six months they have happened every month around the third day of my period. Symptoms include aching joints, blocked nose and headaches as well as generally feeling awful. Periods are heavy and painful with clotting for about seven-nine days. Cold Symptoms usually last 5-7days.
Three days ago, I noticed an few itchy pimple bumps around my knees. I tried to avoid scratching and moisturized as normal. The next day, the bumps had spread up and down my legs, both sides, more concentrated on my shins than thighs. The bumps were now a mixture of itchy red pimples and small swellings, slightly lighter in color. Yesterday the bumps had spread to my forearms.
Since that day, i have never applied anything on my hair, but after 5 months, now again my scalp has become itchy and there are some raised itchy spots on my scalp as well as my neck, behind my ears and inside and on my back and these are appearing and disappearing. I am allergic to alcohol. After consuming alcohol my palms and foot soles itch profusely and if i continue to drink, the tiny itchy spots under the skin would start to grow and be filled with liquid.
I've had eczema in my ears for 15 yrs. It is very cyclical, starting w/intense uncontrollable itching, then clear fluid leaking from skin, followed by crusting over & flaking of skin in ears that is itchy in & of itself, leading to more scratching & picking at ears. The skin in my ears gets very damaged and ratty during outbreaks. I also have swelling of the ear canal after these itch/scratch episodes that are sometimes quite painful, & Motrin helps that. I am wondering if any of you had childhood allergies and suffer from ringing in your ears. I suffer from the ringing in the ears but have learned to deal with it although I know when a storm front is coming in! Hmm maybe this is a career idea if I was younger! lol I had so many different allergies when I was young that mom always said that it was easier to name the things I wasn't allergic to...bummer. I cant wait to try the Milk Thistle and hope it works.
For several years now I have had constant fluid weeping and peeling behind both of my ears. The fluid that weeps from the area seems to form a layer of "skin-like" flakes which eventually block/stop the weeping. Eventually this layer builds up enough that it is so annoying that I practically have to peel it off, which then starts the weeping process all over again.
I have blisters on several of my toes (on both feet) and it's not from athlete's foot or poor shoes. The blisters are extremely itchy/sore and are the size of a pea. I have one on each of the first 3 toes starting with my big toe. They are mostly on top of my toe between the last knuckle and my toenail, but one is on the side/tip of one toe. They are not true blisters in that there is no fluid sack. It is simply a very swollen and red hive. It seems like really firm and inflamed tissue.
At first i found an itchy patch under my arm and thought nothing of it till the next day, it had developed into rashes and had spread to my neck and shoulder. When i went to see my GP, he had to ask for a second opinion as he though they were some kind of bites but the send GP had put it down to Shaving infections, even though i had stressed that i only use tweezers, he insisted that they were the same thing!!! And was prescribed anit-biotics both orally & cream form for 7 days.
