Common Questions and Answers about Itchy arms under the skin

itchy

Avatar f tn I am 26 years old and my right upper arm itches like crazy periodically throughout the day but mostly at night. I thought maybe dry skin because the weather is changing, but I saw something about lymphoma cancer and a symptom is itchy skin so I started worrying. The itch came out of no where and it feels under the skin. I can't seem to ease the itch. If it is just my right arm what could it be!?!
Avatar f tn yes I am a bit overweight and going on a diet My skin does not however hurt when touched and the crawling is under the skin sort of like a burning sensation i have found that witch haze land baby gel oil did help also i am going to be taking milk thistle someone suggested i try that and see if that doesnt help. Avatar n tn i was reading the post that you guys sent in about itchy arms.
Avatar n tn It actually inhibits me from doing things during these months that I want to do because I am so preoccupied with the itching sensation under my skin in my arms; like worms crawling around under there. I just read your posts and ran to the store. Got Capsacin, Tiger balm, Zeasorb and Milk Thistle. I am desperate!! Let you know the results....
Avatar n tn Hi I get white, itchy bumps on my skin around the wrist and on the upper arms particularly while or just after exercising however there are times, mostly when in bed, that I get itchy all over my legs, buttocks, belly, back and arms. I have had them for a while and tried many different treatments to no avail. The best so far was a treatment for scabies but it was't a permanent fix and the itch came back after about a week both times that I tried.
1142551 tn?1264736930 Hi Prettymomma--I can relate to the tender, under-the-skin lumps with red splotches on the lower legs. You describe it very well! I've had several of these and at first thought they were old bruises, though I never remembered having bruises there, and they last forever. They just don't go away, though the tenderness fluctuates. These mostly seem to be on the calf.
Avatar f tn I have had itchy tingling arms for over 20 years. I have been to so many doctors, I've lost count. Some say it's allergys. Some say it's stress. Some creams work for a while. I've taken alot of allergy meds. Zyrtec seemed to help more than the others. I also take Doxipen. the Dr. just doubled my dose. I have a steriod cream that I use as well. It only helps during the day for a while.
Avatar f tn There is no set pattern that I have found, no foods, no certain times of the day or night. I have ugly scars on my arms from scratching so much. I keep open sores all the time. My family doctor would help me if I could get an idea of what it is. I'm sure he would prescribe anything that is suggested. He too, is at a loss for what it is. Can any one give me an idea of something else to try?
Avatar n tn t appear dry. Also, I have developed a burning, itchy and sometimes red skin under my arms, breasts, and groin. These areas have an unpleasant odor and are often sticky. I must bath every day to keep the burning to a reasonable level. I wonder if these might have something to do with the meds I am taking for high blood pressure.
Avatar n tn I cannot see the rash but can feel it under the skin. When it is itchy and I scratch it the lumps go red with blood and look more like a traditional 'rash'. My legs are the worst affected but my lower arms also have started to get it. Strangely, it is affecting my right side more than my left. At times I cannot help but scratch it. My legs and arms feel like they have millions of little blisters under the skin - what is it??
Avatar f tn Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used, whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Also wear cotton clothes and use mild soaps like Dove.
Avatar n tn This has also been a problem for me off and on since I had mono in 2001 and got the milk of the yarrow plant on my arms. Currently my doctor has sent me to the gastro to get my stomach and colon checked out. They are looking for Celiacs disease. For me, I do really believe it's related to both allergies and cervical spine misalignment, which I just learned could be the reason today as I googled... Good luck to you in finding the cure.
Avatar f tn I have a rash on both my arms (the part that touches the armpit) that has been evolving for several weeks. Early on, it was large bumps (1-1.5cm x .5cm) on the armpit itself, now it is small bumps on the skin that surrounds the armpit. On the right arm it's about 3.5cm (from the start of armpit up the arm) and about 1.5 cm (on the perimeter of the armpit only on the right side)They have always been reddish, and itchy. I also have a patch of the rash on my chin, under my lower lip.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the site and to the community. You have come to a place where people are very supportive and have a lot of information. I would like to point out that as the information on your left says, this is only my personal advice and you should always consult a doctor with problems first. Also, while it is understandable to want information or advice about medication/s you should never alter or stop without speaking to the prescribing doctor first.
Avatar n tn Be carful because its like a heat rub so wash your hands and be carful what you touch but it really helps me and my itch is horrible sometimes. from what I understand the cream kills or deadens the nerves under the skin.
Avatar n tn It tends to occur on areas of the body where skin touches skin, such as under the breasts, on the inner thighs, and under the arms. Tiny red spots with itching and pricking sensation are the characteristic appearance of this rash. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime.Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating.Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible.
Avatar n tn I live in the Cincinnati area. The itching is a deep prickly feeling with no visible signs on the skin. The more you scratch the worse it gets. It is so frustrating and No doctor seems to have a clue what it is!!! It is on my arms, from the wrist to my shoulders. but now it has been on my neck as well. I have had some relief in the past by using a lotion called amalactin. It is acid based and does seem to help. NOTHING helped last night!

Avatar n tn Prickly heat (miliaria) is an itchy skin rash caused by trapped sweat. Avatar m tn Within a day or so started getting really itchy bumps on the side of my elbow, back of arms, forearms and inside bicep and somewhat minor irritation under armpits and down rib cage (not so bad along rib cage) I thought it was a heat rash or something so i kinda just let it go for a few days ( scratching of course took place).. as the days went by it seemed to get worse and more red spots and itchiness...
Avatar n tn I need an answer, last Monday morning, got many of my little red bumps all over my neck, back of neck, arms, shoulders, under my ears, where this coming from? Allergy reaction to my perfume Bella Belara?????? It has been a day and half now some show up on my chest...or is it from stress? There is no scalp, no lesion, no white spot only little red bumps all over.
Avatar f tn Once the docter spoke to us he told us they dont have a diagnosis. And he said that the platelets are forcing the blood to the surfice but not above the skin but under. After 2 days pass they release her from the hospital. Now it is Wednesday and we have an appointment with a Dermatologist tomarrow. My mother has chronics pain. Heres the list of medications she takes. Cymbalta, Oxycottin, and they made her stop taking her lipitor. The Rash looks very bad. I have a picture of it.
Avatar n tn And be sure to lotion up after the baths, your skin will be dry. How it works - the bleach kills bacteria and germs that cause the itching. And once you stop scratching, your skin will go back to normal like mine did. My name is Julius Willis III and I approve of this message/method! :) Good luck. Oh, and the lotion I use is CeraVe and sometimes Lubriderm.
