I've had "itchy Arms" for about 3 months now and i've tried benadryl, cortizone hydrocortizone, and a few other ceams and lotions and none of them worked. My itching started on my right arm then went away and started again on my left arm and sometimes on the back of my neck (not as bad as on my Arms). I read a few people's posts on here saying that ice gives some relief. I havent tried the ice but what i have tried is rubbing alcohol and it does help.
Hello, i've been dealing with itchy Arms for the last few years. I have been to the doctor several times and keep getting perscribed various creams that provided minimal if no relief. I have used several different types of over the counter creams which didn't help either. The itching is mainly on the top side of my arm right near my elbows (on both Arms) I scratch until it hurts and gets raw (which makes it worse!

Thanks for all of your advice on itchy Arms - I have suffered this problem for 30 years -it is getting much worse now as I get older - calamine lotion used to help years ago when it was mild -then i started taking antitistimines and they helped for a few years, but now at 55 even they no longer work. It is much worse in the summer months.
Starting in August, I get extremelly itchy Arms. It is only on my Arms, top side. It is uncontrollable and so extreme I itch until I have broken skin. It is actually more than just an itch. It feels deep from within, like a prickly intense feeling inside my skin. It usually subsides sometime in January or February. This year I actually started itching end of June/July. This is going to be a long season if itching for me. I am miserable. Ice seems to help, probably numbing it.
Hello, BRP(brachioradial pruritis) is a rare disease, usually restricted to the foreArms and is most prevalent in individuals between the ages of 39 and 72 years. BRP usually develops bilaterally and involves the area overlying the brachioradial muscle, although it can spread to the back or chest.3 Patients with BRP report having an itching sensation, usually combined with a burning or painful sensation.
I have suffered from unbelievable burning/itchy Arms for over 25 years. Ice was the only thing that gave me relief. I scratched until I bleed and it came and went with the most severe problems in winter and at night. Same pattern for so many of you who posted here. I have been to 22 different doctors - dermatologists, internists, neurologists, Therapists, Herbal remedies, Acupuncture - no answers at all. Then I find this web site and people are talking about Chiropractic relief.
Hi, I'm 24 years old and for the past two weeks I've been itching like CRAZY only on my legs and Arms. it started on my Arms, I've not changed any soaps, I don't use fabric softener, I've washed everything I own just in case of allergic reaction, When I scratch these white rash-like bumps show up all over my Arms andlegs, it's worse at night to the point where I can't sleep. I've gone through tubes and tubes of savlon which helps to ease the pain and itchyness for about twenty minutes or so.
I have been suffering from itchy Arms for about 10 years now. I am actually up right now in the middle of the night with ice on both Arms. It is awful and defintely wakes me up. If this is related to the sun, how do you avoid the sun on your Arms. I play tennis at least once a week and am a big sweater, so covering my Arms would not work. Does anyone know if using sunscreen will help or does your arm have to be covered up?
For many years I have had "itchy upper Arms". It usually starts in mid August and lasts until January. It is not a normal itch......this is almost a painful itch that greats significantly worse when it is scratched which by the way is involuntarily done in my sleep. Any doctor I have seen about it is baffled. Last year I started using a spray on sunscreen instead of the usual cream type of sunscreen. It is Coppertone Sport 30 or higher continous spray, ultra sweatproof.
all itchy arm sufferers....please look into brachioradial pruritus. My Arms, and only my Arms, have itched for 10 years. no rashes, no psiorias, excema etc. The creams, allergery pills..my list is extensive as to what I have tried but nothing worked. ---------------The only thing that helps are ice packs.

leg) that feels like the nerves are itchy and if I don't stretch the muscles to their absolute potential, then the sensation doesn't stop. I have to to several reps of flexing, stretching, hand clenching in these episodes. It looks like I am having a seizure because I have to jerk my muscles so violently! Some times I have to flex against the normal position- like twist my arm behind me or bend my fingers backwards.
My mom has been getting the same itchy bumps on her Arms for almost a year now. nothing seemed to work until I suggested she start taking an Antihistamine. This seems to help alot. She has no history of allergies, bug bites or what have you, but she does get cold sores and suffered a severe outbreak on her entire face due to contracting bacterial menangitis where her immune system was so impaired, the herpes ran rampant.
I to have suffered from itchy Arms for about 10 yrs. I rinse my Arms in cold water for awhile and it has a temporary result. Now it seems to be only on my right Arms, sometimes I swear it's just nerves, but caffeine and stress seem to set it off. I've tried creams from the dermatologist, and no luck. Seems to make it worse. I'm interested in lack of estrogen problems. Two times my dermatologist gave me a shot of cortezone, and boy did that help for about three months, then back again.
I have almost unbearable itching on my Arms. There are raised bumps, but they are not terribly noticeable until I have scratched them into bleeding and scabbing. I've used Banadryl cream to no avail. I have had some sun exposure (sunny Texas)but the rash preceded that. I have had it for several months. I have few allergies - Texas Mountain Cedar, cat dander, molds, but they typically present as respiratory or sinus complications, not dermatological.
I am 34 years old and have been putting up extremely itchy skin for a year and half. When I scratch I am causing little bumps on my skin to scab over and they don't seem to heal. I have this rash look all over my body. I have been going to my dermatologist consistently and have been treated for Scabies, allergies. She has given me steroid creams, antihistimine creams, atarax, allegra none of which has seemed to work.
Hi my instant solution after 10 long itchy years was 10mg Trepiline very night - slightly subdues the nerves pinched due to compression of the cervical cutaenous in the neck area. The symptoms of this condition are symetrical itching on neck and Arms with no rash, especially at night. Hope that works for you all as well!

He lays next to me and I begin to itch like crazy too. What can we do to stop this I have tried cortezon and that doesnt help. Iam tired of this problem can someone help us?
I took Vatlrex 500mg twice daily for 20 days. While on Valtrex I had tingling and itchy sensations on my face. Stopped taking Valtrex because it cause burning patches around my mouth. After I stopped taking the medication I've develop more symptoms. Is this a side effect from the medication or is because of the Herpes Virus? I've had tingling, itching on my face. Twitching in my legs,Arms and body, Heat sensations in the lower part of both legs.
I am going to make an appointment with a neurologist this week.. maybe I am pinching the nerves ? Maybe there is a medical condition from this that would be covered under insurance to remove the excess skin.. Has anyone ever heard of this ?
Over the past several weeks, I have been experiencing severe itchy skin. All over. One area will itch tremendously then another area will start up. Mostly on my back, but also Arms, legs, thighs, etc, etc. I recently had a cortisone shot for my shoulder arthritis (just started up, like that!). I've been taking allergy pills, no help. Could the cortisone shot have started all of this? Also, I have become overwhelmed with stress since all of this started, on the verge of becoming evicted.
They don't last very long but my Arms and hands are sore for quite a while afterward. Its like I cant move my Arms for a short while immediately after they hit me. Has anyone else on here had this happen? Could it be due to the syrinx? I have never had this symptom before. I'm headed back to the neurologists February 19. Thanks for any input you can give me!!
They seem to appear as you itch the area. Mainly located on legs and Arms. The bumps are also there even if skin is not itchy. Seems to occur mosty in the evening. Cortorzone 10 relizes the itching for a period, but ichyness returns after a few hours. What could it possibily be. and what can be done about it. Should I be tested for any thing?
its in my pubic region, inner thigh, but also my legs, Arms and face are very itchy. I tried researching the symptoms and we all know how that goes online, you either have HIV, cancer or some wierd fungus that only grows on leapord tails. Some of the symptoms seem like scabies but i have NO rashes, no marks, sleep fine enough and my face itches. I thought too it could be a mix of allergies and nerves, as i do have some anxiety and take lexapro for it.
i am so itchy i cant stop scratching but there is nothing there it is so prickly i am getting very frustrated hardly had any sleep lastnight.
