This is an excellent question. Vitamins and isotretinoin can be tricky. B12 in general can actually be traced to acne flare ups. Isotretinoin can decrease B12 levels. Low B12 can be problematic. But generally is isn't recommended (B12) to be taken with Isotretinoin very often. I am glad you are followed by a doctor, is he the one who prescribed the isotretinioin? And why are you having the B12 added? I would talk to them about it as well as ask your usual pharmacist.
Has anyone taking isotretinoin?.i know there is a risk ov depression,I'm on my 6th day today ov taking them and don't feel too great.i feel quite low but really agitated,can't switch off and can't keep still.do u think its because ov these meds or just a coincidence?
thanks james. i also took isotretinoin for treatment of body acne. since isotretinoin is also a drug used for some cancer/chemo treatment, will that delay the development of hiv antibody?
I have been using Isotretinoin since July 2021, and the cumulative dosage is about 100mg/kg. After I stopped using Isotretinoin, I found that my eyes were very dry, and it has been maintained for about a month and a half. I know that Isotretinoin can inhibit the secretion of body oil. I want to know whether the drug's inhibition of sebaceous glands is permanent? Will the secretion of oil recover slowly over time? Permanent dry eye is a disaster for me.
Hi i hope i spelt it right lol well anyway i have sebacciouse hyperplasia on my genitals as far as i know its a condition that blocks my oild glands and causes them to swell up *kinds of like acne* i have been given cream which does not work and my dr does not seem to help much.
m using isotretinoin. Then i got some ulcers on my lips and my doctor said its because of the isotretinoin. Then he prescribed minoz 50. I can't bear this acne anymore...
You do not need to be concerned. It has been shown conclusively that isotretinoin, the active ingredient in Decutan, does not cause birth defects in sexual partners of men taking this drug, despite the fact that minute amounts have been found in semen.

I describe my situation
First Problem:
from September to now I had a violent outburst of acne (cystic nodule) and so my dermatologist prescribed to me Roaccutane (isotretinoin) 30 mg everyday .
Hydrocephaly (enlargement of the fluid-filled spaces in the brain)
Microcephaly (small head and brain)
Mental retardation
Ear and eye abnormalities
Cleft palate and other facial abnormalities
Heart defects
Isotretinoin can cause birth defects in the early weeks after conception when a woman often does not know she is pregnant. Even babies without obvious birth defects may have mental retardation or learning disabilities (1, 2).
Food and Drug Administration on 12 August 2005 in an attempt to ensure that female patients receiving isotretinoin do not become pregnant – as of 1 March 2006, only prescribers registered and activated in iPLEDGE are able to prescribe isotretinoin, and only patients registered and qualified in iPLEDGE will be able to have isotretinoin dispensed.
It will not cause birt defects years after taking it.
My body fat went from around 15 % to under 8 % after taking accutane. I am extremely thin now and cannot put on weight on no matter how much I eat or what I eat. For example I can eat a whole tub of ice-cream and has no affect on my body. I have read about others have this issue also. Isotretinoin (accutane) obviously messed up something in my body so that it doesn't metabolize or absorb food the way it did pre-accutane. If anyone has any knowledge in this area plz respond. ty.

Oratane capsules contain a medication known as isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is often a cure for acne. You can take oratane after 3 weeks after miscarriage but Oratane causes birth defects and must absolutely not be used by pregnant women or by women who intend to become pregnant. Hence the time you are taking oratane , you should not fall pregnant.
5 weeks pregnant and I have been taking the isotretinoin drug for my acne. Abortion is higly recommended since isotretinoin can cause severe defects on the baby. Wondering if taking abortion pills is safe and effective. Please help.
He scheduled a blood test for me that he said tested for CBC (Complete Blood Count), Liver function and Kidney function because he wanted me to go on acne medication that required these tests (Isotretinoin). He also gave me some antibiotics to clear up sinus. I asked him if he thought this might be lymphoma and he said it is very unlikely since I have an obvious infection on my face (severe acne) plus the fact I have sinus infection.
I asked my dermatologist and she told me that the stickiness will go away on 2 or 3 days after i am done taking isotretinoin. Has anyone else experience this? Did it go away? Can someone please help!
It falls out when I wash it, not clumps bur quite a bit. I am not sure if it is falling out or breaking off. But the hair has thinned and there are all of these short crazy hairs all over.
I just need to make this stickiness go away whatever the cause. I hope someone can help. I don't know how much longer I can deal with this before I go nuts.
I have taken the decision to do not take this medicine. However people should be warned more about the issues with isotretinoin. I do not trust my dermatologist. Many doctors these days aren't so reliable when you point at their pockets and the $$$ are in exchange from endorsing specific brands.
But beyond than that, it is more important to read what others encountered.
It is very unfortunate what happened to the fellow above, but even doctors will tell floaters aren't a big issue.
Hi I had been on accutane for only 2 months. This means i did not complete the 6 month treatment. Right now i have been off accutane for 2 months and a half.Right now i have occasional pimples but nothing great like before. My face is getting back to its normal greasy self.I have many embarrassing scars on my face, My question is, is it okay to have laser treatment on my face or microdembrasion or do i suffer the possiblilty of having my acne scars worse than they are now?
I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though. After a years worth of breakouts, I'm left with several flat and brightly pigmented scars. On my fair skin, they look like new acne. Even when my skin is "clear" it looks like a break out.
I finally got desperate and saw a dermatologist today! Seeing my scars, she immediately suggested accutane.

What is the current official advice from doctors concerning whether sunscreen increases or decreases the number of new moles someone will acquire? And if isotretinoin or suncreen are not responsible for the increase do you have any ideas what might be?
