4451049 tn?1387153437 Hi there, Any infection and irritation can cause white heads. Tretinoin works by increasing cell turnover and reducing the stickiness of the sloughed cells. It helps expel the plugged material returning the pore to normal and is very useful in whiteheads and blackheads. It may take 6-8 weeks to produce effective results. Flaking and skin irritation are few of its side effects. Use mild cleansers on the face. If the symptoms are not resolving schedule an appointment with your dermatologist.

Avatar m tn It stings, burns, itches constantly, and acne lesions crust and bleed. My skin has also become extremely weak and sensitive and reacts to everything. For example Ive had to cut out shaving a year ago because of the dryness and irritation it causes for days after. I recently seen dermatologist and she told me she honestly did not know what it is, but gave me oral antibiotic, and combination of zinc soap and ketoconazole cream since seborrheic dermtitis may be a suspect condition.
309783 tn?1271958229 m not aware of this use of isotretinoin. I do know that the manufacturer does not recommend long-term, low-dose isotretinoin, and there is little or no scientific literature bearing on the subject of long-term low-dose use of this drug. You might consider a short course of isotretinoin, antibiotic treatment, or laser therapy. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn This can reverse the effects of the condition over time and prevent it from getting any worse. To get the best results from Tretinoin one should use it along with alpha hydroxy acid agents which are normally used to treat acne. Pearly penile papules are not infectious and require no treatment. Let us know if you need any other information and post us about what the skin specialist advises. Regards.
Avatar n tn Hence, it is advisable that if you re using tretinoin ,you need to use sunscreen protection in and out of the house .Tretinoin helps delay sun damage however, it has been shown to be less effective in reverting already damaged skin or severely sun damaged skin. Thus, you may discuss this with your physician. Was tretinoin prescribed by your doctor? What was the indication for the medication? Are you having severe acne?
Avatar m tn Now regarding rhinophyma, it may respond to medication if diagnosed in its early stages. These medicines are isotretinoin and tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide, or azelaic acid and topical antibiotics. Other than that, surgery can be opted for. Surgery can be performed using a scalpel, laser, cryosurgery, electrosurgery, or dermabrasion. But the problem may recur after treatment.
Avatar n tn The risk of birth defects from getting too much vitamin A is the reason that pregnant women and those trying to conceive should stay away from the prescription acne drug isotretinoin (also known by the brand name Accutane, among others) and other drugs related to retinol (a compound of vitamin A), including topical tretinoin (Retin-A), which is used for skin conditions.

Avatar m tn 3) Can i use X5 hair laser and Isotretinoin in the same period ??? Cause I read that isotretinoin produces photosensitivity and I would not suffer irritation or problems to the scalp. Thank you for the attention . I'm sorry for my bad english . I hope that you have understand my problems !!!
Avatar f tn This is an excellent question. Vitamins and isotretinoin can be tricky. B12 in general can actually be traced to acne flare ups. Isotretinoin can decrease B12 levels. Low B12 can be problematic. But generally is isn't recommended (B12) to be taken with Isotretinoin very often. I am glad you are followed by a doctor, is he the one who prescribed the isotretinioin? And why are you having the B12 added? I would talk to them about it as well as ask your usual pharmacist.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taking isotretinoin?.i know there is a risk ov depression,I'm on my 6th day today ov taking them and don't feel too great.i feel quite low but really agitated, can't switch off and can't keep still.do u think its because ov these meds or just a coincidence?
Avatar m tn I have been using Isotretinoin since July 2021, and the cumulative dosage is about 100mg/kg. After I stopped using Isotretinoin, I found that my eyes were very dry, and it has been maintained for about a month and a half. I know that Isotretinoin can inhibit the secretion of body oil. I want to know whether the drug's inhibition of sebaceous glands is permanent? Will the secretion of oil recover slowly over time? Permanent dry eye is a disaster for me.
Avatar m tn after that i had Shaking in my hand (for 3 month then it removed) and bad concentration (i did not know till now why i did not go dr may i was thinking that is not problem ) after 4 year i did a test for thyroid and the result was positive for hypothyroidism , i want to ask if there is connection between the medication (Isotretinoin and accutane) and hypothyroidism and if it reversible
Avatar m tn This means i did not complete the 6 month treatment. Right now i have been off accutane for 2 months and a half.Right now i have occasional pimples but nothing great like before. Avatar n tn maintenance doses of oral isotretinoin in the range of 10-40 mg every other day or 0.05% isotretinoin gel is rarely indicated as a suppressive treatment for widespread disfiguring sebaceous hyperplasia. Oral isotretinoin should be prescribed by a physician who is experienced in oral retinoid therapy and only for patients without contraindications.
309783 tn?1271958229 When acne and rosacea are both present and oral Isotretinoin is used, do telangiectasias tend to resolve, or do oral retinoids worsen this problem (as reported with topical retinoids) ? Eloise.
Avatar n tn Be sure that you apply sunscreen of at least SPF 30 when staying outdoors when using tretinoin. Do not pick on the red spots and try to observe if these spots appear to worsen with tretinoin use. If itching and scaling over the areas occur , then you may need to have this assessed by your physician prescriber.
