Avatar n tn benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids, topical antibiotics (such as erythromycin). Moderate inflammatory acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids combined with oral antibiotics (tetracyclines). Isotretinoin is an option. Severe inflammatory acne, nodular acne, acne resistant to the above treatments: isotretinoin also known as Accutane, can be prescribed by a doctor, or contraceptive pills with cyproterone for females with virilization or drospirenone. http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn I have a small, below the skin, small lump on the lower lip line where the line meets my skin. it's not noticable, but i can feel it with my tounge. i constantly pick at it until it becomes a sore. it heals in a few days and we are back where i started. i smoke but "occasionally" maybe a pack a week. i am a sun worshiper. is this a cyst or possibly lip cancer? Avatar f tn ve spread to cover my entire chest, upper arms(down to short sleeve length), and upper back pretty solidly. This past week, its spread to my lower back and upper butt, and the top of my stomach. I went to a dermatologist, and he diagnosed me with prurigo, gave me a prescription for some cream and told me to use sarna. Didn't explain what it was, nothing, so I looked it up when I got home - I do not believe that is what I have.
Avatar n tn it is not the first time i have this grown pimple on the same spot, actully second tho. i don;t either get this quite often, but most like eventually. the most disturbing thing is that there's no way to squeeze out all its grossy stuff in it. as you can see in the pic. it's a huge one and i can;t stand it anymore. i've been applying this product Neutrogena on-the-spot, which kinda helped me a bit. but not enough effective tho.
Avatar n tn For people with more severe cases, doctors often prescribe an oral (taken by mouth) antibiotic. Tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, and doxycycline are the most common antibiotics used to treat rosacea. Some people respond quickly, while others require long-term therapy. Isotretinoin may be considered as a treatment option for all forms of severe or therapy-resistant rosacea.
Avatar n tn I seem to always be red across the nose and cheeks and it seems to be getting worse each year and I am beginning to notice some on chin and between eyebrows. I really havent been able to pinpoint triggers but have always blushed easily and have always gotten really red faced during exercise. Playing on tennis and basketball teams in H.S., I was quite the scarry tomato face! Anyway my question is if there is a possible connection with fungus or yeast? Any good tips on types of makeup?

309783 tn?1271958229 m not aware of this use of isotretinoin. I do know that the manufacturer does not recommend long-term, low-dose isotretinoin, and there is little or no scientific literature bearing on the subject of long-term low-dose use of this drug. You might consider a short course of isotretinoin, antibiotic treatment, or laser therapy. Best. Dr.

Sunscreens, particularly those that protect against ultraviolet A and B light waves and have a sun-protecting factor (SPF) of 13 or higher, are recommended for all people with rosacea.
Avatar m tn 3) Can i use X5 hair laser and Isotretinoin in the same period ??? Cause I read that isotretinoin produces photosensitivity and I would not suffer irritation or problems to the scalp. Thank you for the attention . I'm sorry for my bad english . I hope that you have understand my problems !!!
Avatar m tn I went to my physician the other day, and instead of prescribing me dynacin which he usually does for the past year or so, he told me to get an over the counter Benzoyl Peroxide wash, and that my acne was so mild that dynacin wasn't needed anymore. Before the trip to the doctor, I washed my skin once a day with Clearasil Sacrylic Acid (2%) acne scrub and took the Dynacin (100mg, twice a day).
Avatar f tn This is an excellent question. Vitamins and isotretinoin can be tricky. B12 in general can actually be traced to acne flare ups. Isotretinoin can decrease B12 levels. Low B12 can be problematic. But generally is isn't recommended (B12) to be taken with Isotretinoin very often. I am glad you are followed by a doctor, is he the one who prescribed the isotretinioin? And why are you having the B12 added? I would talk to them about it as well as ask your usual pharmacist.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taking isotretinoin?.i know there is a risk ov depression,I'm on my 6th day today ov taking them and don't feel too great.i feel quite low but really agitated, can't switch off and can't keep still.do u think its because ov these meds or just a coincidence?

Isotretinoin may be considered as a treatment option for all forms of severe or therapy-resistant rosacea. Electrosurgery and laser surgery may be options to treat redness, enlarged blood vessels, and rhinophyma. In some patients, laser surgery may result in improved skin appearance with little scarring or damage.
Avatar m tn I have been using Isotretinoin since July 2021, and the cumulative dosage is about 100mg/kg. After I stopped using Isotretinoin, I found that my eyes were very dry, and it has been maintained for about a month and a half. I know that Isotretinoin can inhibit the secretion of body oil. I want to know whether the drug's inhibition of sebaceous glands is permanent? Will the secretion of oil recover slowly over time? Permanent dry eye is a disaster for me.
Avatar m tn after that i had Shaking in my hand (for 3 month then it removed) and bad concentration (i did not know till now why i did not go dr may i was thinking that is not problem ) after 4 year i did a test for thyroid and the result was positive for hypothyroidism , i want to ask if there is connection between the medication (Isotretinoin and accutane) and hypothyroidism and if it reversible
Avatar m tn This means i did not complete the 6 month treatment. Right now i have been off accutane for 2 months and a half.Right now i have occasional pimples but nothing great like before. My face is getting back to its normal greasy self.I have many embarrassing scars on my face, My question is, is it okay to have laser treatment on my face or microdembrasion or do i suffer the possiblilty of having my acne scars worse than they are now?
Avatar m tn ve been on Isotretinoin for a month and I stopped it because of extreme constipation (sorry for the details) and alarmingly rapid weight gain. I'm a 20 year old male college student btw!
634590 tn?1293774093 When ever i strech my legs and then walk pain starts and after some rest pain goes away. When i was on isotretinoin i was so much lethargic/fybromyalgia type symptoms, and felt very much tiredness and weakness in my inner sides of thys/legs. I think isotretinoin first make may muscles weak and then pain started. What do you say about it?
Avatar n tn Erythromycin and Cipro are both on the QT drug list that can cause prolongation of the QT interval on an ECG and can cause the arrhythmia Torsades de pointe. This is usually worse for patients with Long QT Syndrome or for people taking anti arrhythmic drugs or other drugs also on the QT Drug list. Check it out at www.****.org.
Avatar m tn I got a rapid test at 6 weeks, the result was non-reactive, and another rapid test at 9 weeks, the result was non-reactive. Both rapid tests used finger-picking method. Is this a good indicator of my 13 weeks result? CDC recommended to test at 3 months and even up to 6 months, should I keep testing until 6 months after the exposure? Thank you.
Avatar n tn maintenance doses of oral isotretinoin in the range of 10-40 mg every other day or 0.05% isotretinoin gel is rarely indicated as a suppressive treatment for widespread disfiguring sebaceous hyperplasia. Oral isotretinoin should be prescribed by a physician who is experienced in oral retinoid therapy and only for patients without contraindications.
