Common Questions and Answers about Is zyrtec d safe while breastfeeding

zyrtec

Avatar f tn I am a major allergy sufferer! Clarifying and Zyrtec are safe to take. However! Do not get the ones with the "D" added onto them (claritin d) because that is either not studied enough yet or not recommended. I take claritin as needed. "They" say it might be bad for allergies this spring with the late start. Exercise indoors. Take care and hopeb this is helpful. We are also allowed Benadryl but that you would need to call about. ...
Avatar f tn I drank soda while breastfeeding just try not to before bed. Every baby is different my son seemed to not sleep well if I drank soda at night.
Avatar f tn Hi I recently found out im about 6 weeks pregnant and I stopped taking my allergy medication (zyryec-D) because I didn't know if it was safe to take while pregnant. The only problem is, is that I'm having the worst time because everything triggers me to sneeze or rub my eyes and at night it's especially bad because I can't breathe as easily as I was able to while on my allergy medication.
Avatar f tn For Zyrtec the statement suggests that this drug is probably safe but that there is not enough evidence to confirm that belief. You may want to discuss this information with your doctor. The most conservative approach would be for you to avoid these drugs unless they are deemed necessary by you and your doctor. Good luck Pregnancy Considerations Montelukast (Singulair) was not teratogenic in animal studies, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.

Avatar n tn I googled it and it says it may/may not be safe to take it in pregnancy. I know that it is safe to take benadryl although it will just offer temporary relief. I would ask your OB GYN what they think about the zyrtec d and if it will be safe. If you have a sinus infection you might need antibiotics that are prescribed by your doctor to get rid of it! I hope you feel better soon!
11803947 tn?1430842645 You might consider switching to allegra or zyrtec. Both are safe during pregnancy. Sleeping with a humidifier and drinking warm tea also helps me.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar f tn suidfed is okay as well.
Avatar f tn Per my dr it is safe! If uncertain call dr or pharmacy!

1209036 tn?1299178657 To answer your question, YES it is perfectly safe to go on birth control pills while breastfeeding, HOWEVER, you can not take pills that contain estrogen. There are pills call "mini-pills" or "pops" (progesterone only pills) such as camilla and micronor that are considered safe during breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about it. Some docs will give you a script straight out of the hospital, others will make you wait until you have your 6 week post partum check up.

Avatar f tn Benadryl is safe to use in dogs, and the dose is approx. 1mg/lb every 8-12 hours; I have used 25mg twice daily in pets slightly under 20# with no ill effects. In approx 10% of dogs, any antihistamine can unexpectedly cause excessive sleepiness, or paradoxical excitment, and if these symptoms occur, then the antihistamine is discontinued. Perhaps this happened to one of the prior rescue dogs when given benadryl.
5574172 tn?1376700381 I didn't take anything so I can't help you :( My doctor told me I could take tylenol PM so I'm assuming any product similar would be safe... ??

362203 tn?1248810310 These studies showing the effects of these drugs on breastfeeding infants have been small, so no medical experts have said that any antithyroid drug is 100% safe for use while breastfeeding. In fact, despite the studies that have shown PTU to be safe at certain dosages, a substantial number of doctors still caution against using these drugs while breastfeeding, and many drug information inserts report that postpartum patients receiving antithyroid drugs should not nurse their babies.
