Is zyrtec-d safe during pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Is zyrtec-d safe during pregnancy

zyrtec

Avatar n tn I googled it and it says it may/may not be safe to take it in pregnancy. I know that it is safe to take benadryl although it will just offer temporary relief. I would ask your OB GYN what they think about the zyrtec d and if it will be safe. If you have a sinus infection you might need antibiotics that are prescribed by your doctor to get rid of it! I hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken Benadryl during pregnancy. Nothing is controlling my allergies and I'm only sleeping 4 hours a night and that's thr only thing I can think that might help. Or any other suggestions.

Avatar f tn I would call your doctor. I know plain Zyrtec is fine to take, but I'm not clear on Zyrtec-D. I believe the only difference is that it has Pseudoephedrine in it, but I'm not 100% and your doctor would be the safest to ask. You should just be able to call and ask and find out over the phone.
Avatar n tn My Dr gave me a list of safe meds and on it are sudafed, Claritin and zyrtec.
213739 tn?1215486009 The risks in the 3rd trimester for a medication (which is assumed safe in pregnancy) to harm the baby is SO minimal!!! Stop your suffering and take it!
Avatar f tn Per my dr it is safe! If uncertain call dr or pharmacy!
11803947 tn?1430842645 You might consider switching to allegra or zyrtec. Both are safe during pregnancy. Sleeping with a humidifier and drinking warm tea also helps me.
Avatar f tn Clairton. ..
Avatar f tn For Zyrtec the statement suggests that this drug is probably safe but that there is not enough evidence to confirm that belief. You may want to discuss this information with your doctor. The most conservative approach would be for you to avoid these drugs unless they are deemed necessary by you and your doctor. Good luck Pregnancy Considerations Montelukast (Singulair) was not teratogenic in animal studies, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Avatar f tn I had allergies really bad at the begging of my pregnancy i got allegra d 24 hours and it helped out allot and my baby girl is healthy as can be
Avatar f tn I am a major allergy sufferer! Clarifying and Zyrtec are safe to take. However! Do not get the ones with the "D" added onto them (claritin d) because that is either not studied enough yet or not recommended. I take claritin as needed. "They" say it might be bad for allergies this spring with the late start. Exercise indoors. Take care and hopeb this is helpful. We are also allowed Benadryl but that you would need to call about. ...
Avatar f tn Hello First off, you have to see what class that medication is in.... Class A,B, &C are OK for pregnancy. Class D is not and is known to cause some birth defects more often then those who are not on the Class D medication. Look up the drug and see what class it is in. Next, I am on medications and I am pregnant. I was on xanax and klonopin before my pregnancy, but since both are Class D I got off of them.
Avatar f tn My have had terrible allergy symptoms so dr told me that zyrtec, Claritan and bendryl are safe during pregnancy. I took Zyrtec during the day yesterday with no relief by bedtime so I took a Benadryl to hopefully get some sleep at night because my symptoms were still terrible! Didn't realize this might not be ok to mix- anyone have any idea if mixing them once is ok?? Now I'm really nervous I did something wrong even though they're both safe.
Avatar f tn 3) Is BID dosing of Zyrtec safe in pregnancy? I know it is safe during pregnancy but I think most people who are pregnant are using it PRN, not QD or BID. Without the Zyrtec, my hives are not only unbearable but they also start to present in my throat, mouth and on my lips, so going without it is not really an option for me.
8761100 tn?1399725825 My doctor told me that I could take it, but I would check with your doc first to make sure.
Avatar f tn m suffering from a scratchy throat, thick mucous, mild headache and post nasal drip. Is Mucinex safe to take? What other relief measures have worked for you?
1605619 tn?1301631851 I also take Zyrtec-D twice a day for allergies. Will I have to discontinue these medications during pregnancy? Odds are, I won't need the Questran anyway, due to prenatal vitamins typically causing constipation (which is a blessing for someone like me!) Any input is appreciated!
Avatar f tn Anybody suffering with skin allergy during pregnancy?? Its driving me mad and no idea whats its from!! I have red spots covering my ribs and back ... yuk!!
Avatar n tn Cough drops are safe and I believe zyrtec is safe I would double check with your doctor about allergy meds. My doctor let me take zyrtec when my allergies got really bad I ended up getting a bad allergy cold one day I took allergy meds the next I would do cough medicine I couldn't tell if it was just allergies or an actual cold and I couldn't take multi symptom cold medicine only one that treated cough only.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar n tn I know benydrl is safe to take but not sure about anything eles. If you have bad allergys your doctor can prescribe you something. I remember with DS #2 I was on claritan (I think) and flonase nasal spray. I would talk with your doctor to get a better idea of whats safe or not.

Avatar f tn Thanx in advance!!! ooh by the way im 11wks 5days...
Avatar f tn ve been taking benadryl since day 1 because I read it was safe somewhere that it was safe during pregnancy. I usually take it for allergies or to sleep. It is not everyday, though more frequently lately. I am worried though because I just had a friend tell me it's only safe after the 1st trimester. Is that true? Does anyone know?
