I'm being treated for "bacterial Keratitis" on the left eye. I've had the infection for about two weeks. I waited a long time to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I thought it was pinkey and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. I finally went at cost of $140. I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam.
I did this for about eight years and never had any problems until about a year and a half ago. In November 2009, I was diagnosed with pink eye and was given vigamox. About a day later I had to go to the emergency room because I was covered in a rash and having problems breathing. After that, my eye doctor took me off the vigamox and gave me a new prescription eye drop. It seemed to be working at first, but after a few weeks of the new drop it made my eye pressure skyrocket.
I am using patanol and vigamox. Problem is i have like a white discharge on my eye and it does not like to come out. I use a hot compress twice a day then i try to rinse my eye and flush my eye as well. Nothing it just remains in my eye.Most of the time i go to bed and it still there. When the white discharge remains in my eye for too long it gets hard and crust and sticks to my skin this hearts really bad.
The pain backed off somewhat until one month later, when I used Vigamox for one day for an eye infection, when the pain recurred with fury about two hours after using the drops .. My tendinitis is concentrated in the supraspinatus and the long head of the biceps tendon, and now, almost ten months after the original whatever-it-was, I still must use light weights at the gym for curls, bench press, and flyes--and cannot do these exercises on successive days.
I am no Dr. but I believe in 3 years the Vigamox might lose it's effectiveness. If it were me, this is one area I wouldn't cut back on because Vigamox is CRITICAL for your eye health after eye procedures. You don't want to kick yourself if your eye heals with complications.
I too am always tring to save money where I can, but I would do without a new pair of shoes, jeans, or something else instead...just my two cents.
Acular helps inflammation, but may slow healing so should be used with caution. Vigamox should only be used as long as it is needed. I suspect you are just in the initial stages of treatment and things will be modified carefully every week or so. That is the way I usually do it. I'm sorry, it appears you have a significant area of damage to the cornea. Make sure you are seeing a well qualified board-certified ophthalmologist and follow the instructions properly.
t relieve the pink eye or excessive tears. Now I am putting Vigamox followed by Prednisolone drops. My pink eye appears to be gone, but not the tears. So, if after your long battle with this, have you found the answers you've been looking for? Are your eyes back to normal? And could you tell me your outcome? Did a Doctor finally test your tears? I appreciate any feedback you might give.
It happen on friday at 2am when I removed my contact lense the left one went fine but the right eye burned and my eye started to tears. I had my lenses for 18h that day and my eyes were dry since I went to see a music show and a lot of people were smoking. I didn't find the lense, so I though the sensation was from the contact being lost in the back of my eyes. Nine days ago I woke up with an extremely mild case of pink eye in my left eye. My sister had been suffering from it, so it was pretty easy to guess where I'd caught it, and I went promptly into the doctor to get it checked out. She confirmed it was pink eye (but didn't say whether it was viral or bacterial) and prescribed me antibiotic eyedrops. Knowing that it usually spread to both eyes I started drops in both eyes.
my left eye appears smaller than the right eye, it is very red in the lower part of the eye as well as in the sides. these symptoms are present in the left eye as well but are not as severe. i also experience itching and irritation in both eyes from time to time. SHOULD I START LOTEMAX? will it be effective?
I have a bad case of Blepharitis and my optician has prescribed Vigamox to be used for 7 days on my eye lids. I am on the 4th day and I don't see a whole lot of change in my eyelids. Is there something better than this? I also go to an Opthamoligist and he prescribed a salve, which also didn't work. I am putting hot compresses on everynight with a lid scrub (also not working.) I went to another doctor and he said there is 99% chance of corneal dystrophy and 1% chance of viral of due to heredity by which these white spots are there is your cornea & if it not affect you eyesight it is ok ..we don't have any problem with it. I told him that I am suffering from Photo phobia and it is very hard for me to roam around in a Sunny day ..
