strattera

Avatar n tn I have been on Pristiq 100mg for 3 months, Wellbutrin 150mg for 5 weeks and we added Strattera 40mg. Pristiq for PMDD, Wellbutrin for motivation and Strattera for focus. Separately they help each thing only. So was wondering if anyone else is on a combo like this and it’s helped. And how long. I seem to be anxious more lately before adding Strattera....hoping this helps it. No libido what so ever.
209987 tn?1451935465 have you tried strattera for the adhd. that is what my son is on its a non stimulant so it shouldn't affect your sleep as much as the stimulants do.
Avatar m tn That's why most of us say "ask your Dr. about......." Strattera is a med to help with concentration. I believe that was the question. [Is there any med to improve concentration?] I did not say buy Strattera on the black market and don't tell your doctor about it. I merely answered the question.
Avatar f tn Hummm, the problem is that strattera is not a stimulant, which is probably why it was prescribed to your son, and I can not find Raynard's symptoms listed as any side effect of strattera. "Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggeration of vasomotor responses to cold or emotional stress." ADHD can cause a lot of emotional stress. You really need to talk with your doctor. You also need to do some research as allmymarbles suggested.
Avatar m tn (1) The Strattera success rate is not as high as stimulants to control ADHD (2) When there is a side effect with Strattera the risk is much higher of how serious the side effect will be due to the fact that this med impacts the liver and also the lawsuits seem to be much more serious than the lawsuits for stimulants. My husband decided that we should not change to Strattera.
Avatar f tn my 8 year old son is taking startara 40mg and whenever in terrible lately has been saying that he hates his life and want to die. he is doing good on this medication could this be some what normal?
Avatar n tn t meet him (my psychiatrist)for another month. How can I get him to let me be on adderal instead of Strattera when he is afraid I will get addicted? I don't care if it's addicting, I want to live out my life focused and able to work, not dizzy and constipated on the streets where Strattera will lead me I am afraid. Some people are different than others. Why is he limiting me to Stratterra? Is it because of my age?
Avatar n tn I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms. Is it safe to take Adderal XR and Strattera at the same time? I only have a two week supply of Strattera remaining and I'm very much dreading going back to my old self.
Avatar m tn At any rate, you should always remain in good communication with your doctor. He needs to know what is going on. Also, he should be experienced with his patients using strattera, so should be able to tell you, what to expect. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Strattera is a non-stimulant drug used to treat ADD. It also has helped my son with anxiety. My Peds opinion is that by reducing my son's anxiety, we are increasing his ability to deal with symptoms of GERD. The reflux started before we started the Strattera, and the symptoms went away after we started it. NOW, the second time around on Strattera, we are not having the same luck with it, at least on the old dose. I am hoping that the increased dose of both meds does the trick.
Avatar m tn https://medicaid.utah.gov/pharmacy/priorauthorization/pdf/StimulantsAdults.pdf If you have any specific questions the best thing to do is to call their hotline number or as this concerns a medication coverage issue that might be a bit more complex have your psychiatrist call them.
Avatar f tn Not sure if that side effect will go away but giving it a try. My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now. Im thinking it was the benzo withdrawal but I have no experience with that either so Idk. Also, with wellbutrin I dont have the heart rate just feel sleepy and foggy mind. Any help would be appreciated and forgive any typos. I'm on my phone.
Avatar f tn Typically, if you are getting side effects, it may be because your dose of Strattera is too high. This is something that you need to discuss with your doc. Any reason you went with Strattera instead of a Methylphenidate type of stim medication? No, I would not try klonopin in the morning. Something like Tenex might be helpful. Tenex, "Can be given 2 or 3 times/day. May need 1-2 weeks to build up. Helps tics, hyperactivity. Does not cut appetite.
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
990354 tn?1307132886 I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!
Avatar n tn Is he taking 36mg plus 36 mg or 18mg plus 18mg?
Avatar n tn My daughter is nearly 11 years old and has been taking Concerta (now on 36mg) since March. The doctor recommended a switch to Strattera for the reason that it works 24 hours (Concerta is effective for only 12 hours) and will help my daughter concentrate more. I have no idea whether Strattera is a better alternative, can anyone tell me if this is true?
Avatar f tn Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. The site is http://www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/medications.htm And the following site also lists (with info) non stimulant meds (they do mention strattera). http://www.baltimorepsych.com/NonStimulants.
Avatar n tn my son is on this and we saw changes with in a month
Avatar f tn When i was about 5 or 7 years old thats when my doctor told my mom i have ADHD. My doctor gave me to take Vyvanse and Strattera. The Vyvanse i take is 60mg capsules and for Strattera i take 60mg capsules to. I had problems over the years. I get distracted very easily but i try not to look or be distracted but its hard sometimes. especially when people are talking, making noise and being annoying is distracting me. There are other stuff i turn my attention to though.
Avatar n tn Im a 34 year old female just diagnosed with ADD. my dr out me on strattera because of an existing heart problem. I started it 5 days ago. the 1st day i took it at 8am. by 12 i couldnt keep my head off my desk. and i killed my scalp with my letter opener. i felt like i had bugs all in my head. the next day i took it at 1pm. same thing. im taking it later at night so i can hopefully sleep through all of the "bugs". has anyone else had itching as a side effect?
Avatar n tn I am a 46 yr. old female and realized 8 yrs. ago that I was a textbook case of an adult female with adhd. At my husband's urging, I went to the doctor for meds. He prescribed strattera and I didn't think it did anything for it but make me thirsty. I went to another doctor and asked for adderall (since the first doctor would not prescribe anything else but strattera). It works a lot better. I take the minimal dose and find it works better than strattera.
Avatar m tn Anyone know if strattera will cause a positive or false positive result in a urine drug test.
Avatar n tn hey my diagnoses is bipolar depression i take 150 zoloft,50naltrexone,60mg inderol,trileptal 900,stelazine 6mg,cogentin 0.
Avatar f tn First, there is no such thing as a nervous breakdown -- that's not a medical term. You don't mention if you're seeing a psychologist in conjunction with your medication. You don't mention if you're seeing a psychiatrist or a general doc, as lithium is generally used with psychoses, not what you've listed. It's possible your doc is stumped and moving to atypical answers.
