Is strattera good

Common Questions and Answers about Is strattera good

strattera

Hummm, the problem is that strattera is not a stimulant, which is probably why it was prescribed to your son, and I can not find Raynard's symptoms listed as any side effect of strattera. "Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggeration of vasomotor responses to cold or emotional stress." ADHD can cause a lot of emotional stress. You really need to talk with your doctor. You also need to do some research as allmymarbles suggested.
"sounds like a good product." Wonderful response. Succinct, to the point, no wasted time fleshing out any information about why anybody would want to use EITHER product that is mentioned. Way to go, live4fitness! According to a quick Google, your product is creatine. I assume you knew that already. However, the title of your post is "Strattera." That's a drug for ADD/ADHD. Which one are your referring to? Do you have a coach who is training you in football?
//www.crazymeds.us/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Meds/Strattera Basically it is an antidepressant. Has no stimulants in it. Thus I would think that it should pose no problem with urine or hair tests - unless, they are screening for antidepressants.
Strattera is a non stimulant med, but still can really affect the appetite. Here is some more info on it - http://www.crazymeds.us/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Meds/Strattera Food wise, there are alternatives besides sweet tasting ones. I use a a high protein whey mix after workouts that is not sweet. I add one tablespoon on chocolate (non sugar) mix to it. It will take some experimentation to find what she likes. And she needs to snack many times during the day.
(1) The Strattera success rate is not as high as stimulants to control ADHD (2) When there is a side effect with Strattera the risk is much higher of how serious the side effect will be due to the fact that this med impacts the liver and also the lawsuits seem to be much more serious than the lawsuits for stimulants. My husband decided that we should not change to Strattera.
Your son is too young for them to classify him as bi-polar, but ODD with the mood swings sounds more like that is the diagnosis you might be looking at, I am not a doctor, but you may want to ask. Good luck. Stratterra is something I have been pushing for my daughter, but they don't feel it is quite right for her. Hope you find your answer.
But there are limits and it looks like it might be time to try another medication if 120mgs of strattera is not doing much for you. Hope this helps. Please post if you have any other questions or need more reference material.
My daughter says that her chest hurts at times when she is real active. Is this a side effect of strattera? She has ADHD and never wants to clean her room. She will say it's clean but it's not and she is off to play, we will ask her did you clean you room and she says "I think so" but it is not.
Good point. I am really beginning to wonder if this reaction is related to the acid reducer. first - "Long-term treatment with pantoprazole may also make it harder for your body to absorb vitamin B-12, resulting in a deficiency of this vitamin. Symptoms of a vitamin B-12 deficiency may develop slowly and include pale skin, weakness, tired feeling, shortness of breath, and a fast heart rate." Sound familiar? But this would be easy to check with B-12 lab test.
I have problems getting full erection and ejaculate very early even when I am not hard. Is this caused by Strattera? If Strattera the cause, will I be fine when I stop the medication?
The dr prescribed concerta now along with the abilify and dropping the strattera. This morning is the first time with it and he is very evry happy, loud, not really concentrating well and he is only taking 19mg. What should I do i can't reach his dr until monday!! Thanks for your help!
*decrease in appetite, since starting Strattera I have had less than 3 meals a day, mostly, i just am not interested in eating tons anymore (which is actually a good thing). Note, sexual function hasn't decreased. Improved Symptoms: ------------------------------ While taking the 40mg, I did notice minor changes in my behavior, however, nothing that I would call 'cured' for the ADHD side of things.
my son had a reaction,(allergic one) to a shot to prevent RSV and the type of reaction he was having wasn't seen before/ good luck here is the article Mcihelle Safety Information In some children and teens, Strattera increases the risk of suicidal thoughts. A combined analysis of 12 studies of Strattera showed that in children and teens this risk was 0.4% for those taking Strattera compared to none for those taking a sugar pill.
She may get a feeling of accomplishment from that one simple change. I know there is more complicated work to be done for her, also, but this is something small and unquestionably healthy. Could she take care of a little dog, who would keep her company?
I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!
have you tried strattera for the adhd. that is what my son is on its a non stimulant so it shouldn't affect your sleep as much as the stimulants do.
Telephone numbers, tag numbers, sayings, all sorts of thing would go over and over in my head. I am now taking Strattera, and it is working. Strattera is prescribed for ADHD (non-stimulant)and is a form of antidepressant. Strattera or another antidepressant might help. Recurring thoughts might seem like nothing to someone who has never had them, but they are maddening.
That's why most of us say "ask your Dr. about......." Strattera is a med to help with concentration. I believe that was the question. [Is there any med to improve concentration?] I did not say buy Strattera on the black market and don't tell your doctor about it. I merely answered the question.
I loved the effects of this medication and how it improved my concentration, however, it made me feel more anxious than ever before. I switched off of concerta onto strattera. Strattera made me feel so calm. I took it for about 3-4 months and went up to 80mg but it didn’t work like concerta did. It didn’t actually help me to pay attention at all. It just made me feel less anxious. It made me feel nothing. I felt numb.
He assured me in the end that he knew that, but that if he HAD to face an attack, he knew he would win. He is not a super tough, super in shape kid - plays lots of video games. Is this grandiose, or just 14 yr old male machismo? Does this mean mania is pending?
Is he taking 36mg plus 36 mg or 18mg plus 18mg?
If he has bipolar then they would give it as an adjunct for depression if the bipolar did not treat the depression as well as it could. Ritalin of course if for adhd and is of standard usage as is Strattera which in not being an amphetamine is somewhat safer. As for the reasons, some psychiatrists will use polypharmacy that is provide medication for every symptom and here it seems like its gone too far. But you might be wrong the original diagnosis.
Then whatever they say something is going on and you need to seek more answers for him, ask for another opinion, ,,as he has had a diagnosis of early Alzheimers maybe this is part of it, there is a new med coming up called Rember', it should help a lot of people Google it to get the latest information, it is on the 3rd year of Trials , hopefully be on the market in a couple and passed by the FDA ..
You don't get tired easily and that is a good sign. This is specially true for young people; however, if you do not sleep enough, eventually this will catch up with you (wise words). So, if you sleep well, you'll have a clear mind. What happens when a child or a puppy need attention all the time?: ...In both cases probably their energy level is much higher than the person experiencing what he/she considers to be a problem. The solution, use up your energy so you may get tired.
I am so saddened by his situation. He is really a good little boy but this medication is going to kill him. Educate yourself on medications. Don't just do what the teacher or doctor wants to do....or even what is easiest for yourself. Love your child and be very careful with what medications you give them.
At any rate, you should always remain in good communication with your doctor. He needs to know what is going on. Also, he should be experienced with his patients using strattera, so should be able to tell you, what to expect. Good luck!
This is something you need to tell your doctor who ordered the Strattera. I don't know what your normal resting heart rate is, but 100 is the high end of normal for a resting heart rate. You need to discuss this with the prescribing doctor. Good luck.
I am not sure if the doctor will agree to change them but I need help. Is there another medicine that is similar to Strattera that could help them? Or is there other medicines that are good for these children that could help them out. My oldest son, if he does not have the Strattera he is very moody and he has a bad temper. He is also hyper. My middle son is very active and all over the place but he has the autism problems as well. Can you please help me?
I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms. Is it safe to take Adderal XR and Strattera at the same time? I only have a two week supply of Strattera remaining and I'm very much dreading going back to my old self.
