Common Questions and Answers about Is sprintec good for acne

Avatar f tn I was on a triphasic pill for years (Tri Sprintec). It was good for keeping acne under control (which is why I originally went on it at age 20). But in the last few years I began suffering from extreme fatigue, lots of water retention, vaginal dryness, etc, and as all my tests were normal my PCP suggested the pill was causing it. I went off the pill completely 4 months ago and about 2 months after started experiencing extremely oily skin and massive hair shedding, among other things.
Avatar m tn Apart from that, you can prevent and treat acne by changing your lifestyle like eating proper diet, getting a good amount of sleep and drink at least eight glasses of water daily. You can also treat acne by cleaning your face regularly, using skincare products, apply antibacterial topical medications. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Then I started Chateal and for a few weeks I felt great, then it went downhill. Now I am on Sprintec, and it is not going well. Lessina 0.1mg / 0.02mg - Taken from April 16th-August 4th - April 16th started taking Lessina, saw improvement immediately (began a week before period). - Had a period from April 21st to May 7th. - Spotting from June 23rd to August 5th (about 42 days) Chateal (Curvelo) 0.15mg / 0.
Avatar f tn So they started me on SPRINTEC N SPIRONPROLACTONE and i was wondering will this help or do i need to try METFORMIN OR CLOMID.... i also have a cyst on my right ovary. What is the next step for me.
5787844 tn?1376078984 Lol I was given sprintec pills but I was thinking of trying natural or non hormonal methods birth control. Tracking, condoms, etc. I have been on hormonal birth control pretty much since I was 17. I can't loose weight very easily. The last year has left me with greasy, and yet somehow brittle hair. Horrid acne. Heavy periods, and extra weight. My doctor shrugged me off when I mentioned being concerned with weight gain. Saying it's not that common.
Avatar f tn Hey, so I have have sex with three people. The first guy we used a condom and I was fine and then 6 months later I found another guy who was a REALLY bad decision, we used no ways of contraception and luckily, no babies but I got what I thought was a yeast infection within days. I used Monistat for a few treatments and it went away no-sweat.
Avatar f tn I've been on tri-sprintec for 10 months an have never felt this before though.

Avatar f tn Could these just be your body adjusting to the pills? What if you gave them 2 months, and gave your body time to adjust, and see how you feel? What does your doctor say about that? I agree that an endocrinologist is a good idea. Maybe the pills aren't a good idea for you - my sister, who has PMDD, had a really tough time with hormonal birth controls, and responded really well to Zoloft instead of birth control for her symptoms.
Avatar m tn I have been on tri-sprintec birth control for 8+ years. I seemed to get a zit here and there on the side of my chin around my period, but for the past 6-8 months I seem to have constant breakouts mainly on the sides of my chin. It is all the time, not just around my period. The right side is worse than the left. The rest of my skin is clear. I have tried antibiotics, Retin-A, changing all my face products, serums, facials and even a juice cleanse.

Avatar n tn Is tri-sprintec a bc pill? If so, you likely confused your body by going on and then off, I wouldn't worry too much. If you still dont get your period in a week test again. BTW- just because he didn't come in you doesn't mean you cant be pregnant, there is pre-*** and it can get you pregnant. If you dont want to be pregnant get on some bc and stay on it.

What is the next step for me. I also wanna know about ovulating because i have a cycle every month PLEASE HELP ME.... I ALSO HEARD TO TAKE GERITOL ?
Avatar m tn I just started using the birth control Sprintec a week ago. I had a stroke on Monday. I cannot walk well, but other than that I have recovered quickly. I will be 20 on Saturday. I am only 19. I want to know how many others are out there who have taken sprintec and either had a TIA or a stroke due the birth control...is there anyone else?
Avatar f tn Hi, constant valva pain like your describing would not be herpes related and your hsv2 fall into the false positive range in need of retesting. Also a side effect of BC sprintec is vaginal itching so this may be your cause. Are you scratching down there?
Avatar f tn I know this was almost 6 years ago but did you ever figure out if the sprintec is what caused the vainal itch?
Avatar n tn Ive be taking sprintec for 3months forgot to refill my prescription so I have missed 4 pills in a row sunday-wednesday they would all be blue pills. I have had intercourse with in theses days. Should I take a pregnancy test before I start back on the pill? If so when should I take the pregnancy test?
Avatar f tn I've been on sprintec for 4 months and for the first 3 had no period. But now I've had my period for 3 weeks it slowed down for a day and I had sex. Then it came back. After two weeks I stopped with my pills and it has only gotten worse. I don't know what to do I'm weak and cranky all the time.
Avatar n tn Very unlikely if this is not the first week of the first pack you've ever taken and/or you did not miss any pills this pack. Do you set a cell phone alarm to help remember when it's 9 p.m.?
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar f tn I've been on Sprintec birth control for 6 months and never had this problem till now. I have always started my period 3 days after I started taking the white pill. Right now I'm on the last week of my blue pills and I've started cramping and spotting a little. I'm not sure if it's normal or not to start your period a week early while on birth control or not because it's never happened to me until now.
Avatar f tn I've been getting a lot of acne lately because of all these hormones, :( is there any good skin product that really does work at getting rid of acne, dark spots, bit still make your skin smooth?? Btw I have sensitive skin && some acne products make my skin dry :( please help?
1430817 tn?1283289443 Hi! My name is Makayla. I have been taking the Spintec for a year or less and I'm 16. I usually take it at the same time, I usually take it in the morning after breakfast almost right after I wake up, but today I took it a little after lunch time. I took it around 1:15. If I have sex the next day and skip the pill could I become pregnant? I have never skipped a pill before.
Avatar f tn I was on Ortho Tri for nine years, no problems. After switching to sprintec, the pills no longer worked. I was having periods while on the active pills and my vulva became dry and irritated (like a knife stabbing it). I can't get the pain to go away. Anyone else with this problem?
Avatar f tn Can anybody help what to do..my face is so itchy and there are so many pimples or like acne comes out.. Ive been in derma but its nothing happen.. What do i need to do with it...
Avatar f tn Makeup is the worst thing in the world for acne. It is also the main culprit in allergic reactions on the face. Ask any actress...they'll be the first to tell you how bad their acne is from the makeup that they have to wear...so they plaster even more on to hide it...sad but true. Did you give each of the above acne methods a fair chance to work? In other words, did you try them each for at least 3 weeks without wearing makeup on top?
7381903 tn?1391464888 It will go away on its own. This is normal for babies...but I heard that breast milk can help clear it up. I wouldn't put anything else on the baby's face because the skin is so delicate. Don't worry, about all babies go through this.
