Common Questions and Answers about Is serzone a ssri

serzone

Avatar n tn Effexor is an snri, nortriptyline is a tricyclic. Fetzima is a newer snri. Remeron is a tetracyclic and is a notorious weight gainer. My psychiatrist practices geriatric psychiatry and only uses this med for patients who have stopped eating since it makes most people want to eat. I thought serzone was taken off the market for causing liver disease, although the generic is still available. Maybe it's back. An alternative to serzone is wellbutrin.
1432927 tn?1283546704 No matter what do not stop taking any beta blockers or meds that the heart doc has given you suddenly because you could be in for a world of hurt here, It is common if you are not weaned off of the meds and stop suddenly that you will experience a little ditty called re bound which means that your symtoms will magnify X3 or more and you don't want to go thru that believe me....
Avatar f tn Reacting quickly to a SSRI and having those symptoms is a pretty common indicator of BP - I wouldn't worry so much about the label as getting him on meds that can help him feel stable, such as the anxiety. It's a big problem with BP folks, and is my major battle still. You haven't given much info, but Im sure the doctor's gone through an extensive check list with your spouse. What's wrong with him being put on Zyprexa if he's having postive effects from the drugs?
484508 tn?1290010544 hitman it has nothing to do with the prozac. it is the klonopin w/d...i gaurentee it. start back on the prozac and get a taper schedule from ryan for the klonopin. treat them as 2 seperate issues. if you experience anxiety attribute it to the klonopin withdrawal and stay on the prozac. this one i know about, you could say i am an expert. the hasty taper schedule is what caused ALL your symptoms not the prozac.
1115705 tn?1258815104 Well it depends what you mean by "dangerous". Many medications have black box warnings against a certain side effect because it occured in clinical studies before they were approved and doctors need to watch for it. That doesn't mean that particular medication shouldn't be taken. Some of the medications I take or have taken have warnings of various kind.
Avatar m tn ve been having some major issues. I had a health scare, and thought I was going deaf. A petty thing, really. I poked a cloth too far in my ear, and plugged wax into the inner ear canal. A walk-in clinic visit later, and I was seemingly fine, even for the next day or 2. Then, the sleep issues started. I developed health anxiety and a "lump-in-throat" sensation that I could bring on on-demand (OCD thinking), causing more anxiety.
Avatar f tn My second question regards SSRI withdrawal symptoms. After about a week off of zoloft I suddenly started feeling extreme anger. Over the last couple of days I've been dissociating a lot--my usual reaction to extreme emotions--and I feel full of rage. The other withdrawal symptoms--dizziness, lighthededness, crying jags--began almost immediately as I tapered off.
Avatar n tn t been permanent resident (I immigrated here a few years ago from Europe) for long enough (10 years is required), so I am on what they call a 'Newstart Allowance'. I do get discounts on public transport, medication (I pay AUD$5 per script), any other medical help is free for me, I get massive discounts on my electricity bills etc, but the income is only AUD$550 a fortnight, which is very hard to live of in a city like Sydney.
1166402 tn?1303847056 ve lost my appetite, feeling uneasy, down and worried ( I also feel like I need to take the Klonopin I got which is making me drowsy and more depressed). I will see my doc in a few days. Will he increase my dose or give me a new med? This is my first med and now feel more depressed ever that I might never get out of this rut. I've been laying bed for 3 days now and take the Klonopin to ease some of my anxiety which I thought would be helped by now with the Celexa.
Avatar n tn Does Serzone cause weight gain and how does it affect your sex drive. This is my first time on this forum and looking for some answers.
Avatar m tn with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?
Avatar f tn Thank you, I do have a cuff at home and use it periodically. Sometimes it freaks me out to know how tachy I am just sitting around doing nothing. I had the 2nd tilt done Thursday, they used nitro instead of isuprel and I really didn't react much at all. He said my heartrate was borderline elevated during the test. I'm a little worried that my insurance carrier is going to give me a hard time paying for the test as i had it done in Aug as well by a different doc.
Avatar n tn At first I lost about 5 pounds-then after about 6 months the weight packed on uncontrollably. I went from a size 4 to a size 14 in a year and a half. I was a ballet dancer and active-plus, I am a vegetarian who doesn't overeat. My chest went from a small B to almost a D. I am so ashamed of my body that I don't want to dance anymore. I am tapering off of celexa and beginning to exercise 2 times a day.
Avatar f tn Thank you! One night September last year that I wasn't able to swallow pills, then started developed lump in throat. All the tests showed negative,GI doctor prescribed reglan for muscle spasm. Lump in throat is better but tightness is 24/7. I haven't done therapy but meditation and deep breathing did help me. I don't know how long will this symptom last but I intend to do it naturally. Just friends mentioned about SSRI medicine, so I wanted to see if it did help someone.
Avatar n tn Omg the eyes not keeping up with me is whats happening to me! They kinda "jerk" a little like a twitch...
Avatar f tn New to this platform. Read about ssri meds possibly effecting eyesight? Seeing spots, blurred vision... there’s more. I was wondering if anyone found any research or treatment?
Avatar m tn My symptoms are definitely neurological, but what is causing them is a mystery. I even believe my abnormal "floaters" are neurological (something pushing on the optic nerve) in nature. I'm seeing them in the way that I am because of something around or irritating the optic nerve. If you've had the gadolinium that many times, then i shouldn't have anything to worry about.
