5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.

Here's some input 6 years after the OP from someone that is not a doctor. Most people are happy with weight loss (under appropriate circumstances). Weight gain though...not so much. Most people will label that (weight gain) a problem and search for a solution. If Ramipril is the most significant change in their lifestyle, that may stand out as the culprit. I went on Ramipril 1 month ago. Personally I have never, and I mean never in my life, experienced unwanted increases in weight.

My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.

Is Ramipril an ace inhibitor? If so then it's the ace inhibitor. I'm on an ace inhibitor too and I have the cough, BUT I think the cough is better to have than the high blood pressure, BUT only if the cough isn't too much of a bother and doesn't keep you awake at night.

that is quite a high dosage of beta blocker and is likely to give the low pulse. Is the cardiologist aware of this pulse? The blood pressure medication is quite low and could be increased. Ask the Cardiologist if the beta blocker should be reduced and the Ramipril increased.

My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible. It is giving me nothing short of severe chest pains and is actually putting my blood pressure up. Generally speaking my blood pressure is perfect before ramipril (120/80) and always around 150/90 within an hour of taking it.

Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. I had been taking Ramipril for years. Went to a new Dr. who changed me to Quinapril twice a day because he said it was better for kidneys and added Metoprolol ER 50mg / day because my pulse was always around 90. My BP was usually 120 / 80 with the Ramipril. It's now down to 105 / 65 and my pulse is down to 70. BUT I can't stand how gassy the Metoprolol makes me. I am walking around passing gas all day without being able to control it.

i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..

Not all medications work the same for everybody but this is my saving grace. I understand Ramipril has a beneficial side effect of strengthening the interior walls of veins and arteries as well. If your BP is over 140 on a fairly regular basis you should seek treatment immediately or you are causing yourself escalating damage that may not show up right away, but can cause you untold problems in the future. I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.

That's what we're wondering. The doctors said the ramipril is not just for blood pressure but is also for his weak heart to see if it improves the EF. They've sent him for additional tests and even recommended a higher dose of ramipril despite the fact that his oxygen level was 114 when he did the bicycle test. The doctor kept talking about him being in a state of heart failure which is very unsettling.

25 to 2x1.25. So I am already low on ramipril. I cannot go down further on ACE-I. My EF is 30-35%. I had MI in 2007. My question is, can side effects of carvidilol become severe even after its trouble free (almost) use for three years? Thanks in advance for any feedback/advise.

Is there anything wrong with 145bpm? it's certainly not ridiculously high. After my triple bypass surgery my heart rate would quickly jump from 90 (standing) to 186 during the exercise classes at rehab. I say 'jump' but it took 10-15 seconds if I really worked hard, such as very fast star jumps. When stopping the exercise my heart reduced to 90 in less than 30 seconds. There was no chest pains and I felt great.

One other thought, sometimes statins can have side effects I see she is taking Crestor and Ramipril check out thats not the cause .

My Ramipril is hardly working now, it looks as though I'm becoming immune to its effects. My current BP is around 145/105 and sometimes higher. Is there a natural substance which helps with BP that anyone knows of? Or, do I need to ask the Doctor to change me to another med?

It starts around the scrotum/urethra area and shoots up to around halfway up the penis almost to the base of the head. It's a shooting needle type sensation that almost feels like a serious itch but also subtly painful. It started about a month ago deep into the urethra almost underneath the scrotum and now it's reaching pretty far up into the penis. There is no discolored or foul smelling urine. I've been abstinent for about 4 months. No obvious signs of swelling or redness. Help!
