Avatar n tn We are both afraid he will get in trouble though since he is no longer prescribed that. is it the same thing, other than the tylenol, or will it be found on a mouth swab? Thanks for any advice!

Avatar n tn Oxycodone is the narcotic in both of your scripts. the former, "Oxycodone" is not the generic name of the drug.....but the drug itself. Endocet is the generic name, and has oxycodone in it as well. Oh yes, also your first Rx had 5mgs of oxycodone, whereas your last one had 7.5mgs.
2110255 tn?1334192149 However, oxycodone comes in up to 30 mg tablets and the dose of percocet is bounded by the amount of tylenol within it. the maximum safe amount of tylenol that can be ingested in a single dose is 1,000 mg. Per the maximums the pharmaceutical companies published, the max prescribed dose of percocet is "up to 3 tablets (assuming 5/325 mg dose per tablet) every 4-6 hours not to exceed 12 pills in a day".
Avatar n tn So, obviously he's an idiot because percocet is oxycodone, and so is oxycontin, right? So he won't refer me for any program. and of course, I've got a ton of pills left, I don't know, probably ten 20 mg. extended release, and 25 5 mg percocet. I anyone's help on how to taper myself without going crazy. Plus, I don't even know if I have the willpower to do it. I'm sure once I stop taking them I'll be slammed with chronic migraines again.
Avatar m tn also instead of the percocet one of the times a day I just take tylenol. so the acetaminophen my body craves is still getting without the oxycodone. thanks for the support.

Next in same presentation is the Amino Acid Protocol that I firmly advocate. Depression is pretty norm( and you if its your mistake) and if you think abut it, most valuable players get more money. Until the pills won't do for another player. Just a shylock........use those dollars to invest in lots medicines that you probably havent been using them for awhile.
Avatar f tn In other words, if you take one percocet (with the tylenol built in) you might need one and a half or even two of the pills without the tylenol in them to get the same result with regard to pain control. the pure oxycodone is a lot safer for your liver than the percocet, but if you want to boost the efficacy of your pills, you can take a tylenol or an advil with them from time to time if you're hurting more that day.
Avatar n tn Does oxycotten and oxycodone show up as the same thing on a drug test? I have been taking 6-8 oxycodone per day for over a year for medical reasons and was wondering If i were to take a drug test on monday or tuesday and take a 20MG oxyconton on friday or sat will it show up as im taking oxycodone or would it know im taking something else(I know they are basically the same thats why im asking) the drug test is probably a more complex one scine its from my pain clinic doc.
558096 tn?1255890602 because of the bad pubicity about OXYCONTIN he puts me on oxycodone the generic form which is fine by me it works the same they are not making the generic ( so they say) and he says he will not write oxycontin anymore! What do I do? What is the next drug that even compares to it? Help!!
Avatar n tn Chow I thought the same thing stopping the percocet. I thought "omg what will I do when I'm old and hurt more!" But guess what? Pain went away with the pills! Try it! Try NOthing...and reset your body for 6 months and see where yo land. Get it all out and assess your pain scale. I experienced that high off the percs too and know what you mean about missing that good mood. Eventually you'll that high again but it'll be from life :) Stay away from pot drops for now lol.
Avatar m tn Really that's not true, and you may not be an addict. One thing you did NOT say is that you use the drug for something other than its intended purpose, namely to get high or to feel "normal." If you were snorting truly because you thought it would alleviate your pain better, that may not be a good thing but it doesn't necessarily indicate addiction. Your consistent use of a very low dose is also telling. Honesty is everything.
Avatar n tn there is no way she could take all that percocet or oxycodone the generic name, and get up and work all day without taking more during the day. Otherwise she would start going into withdrawal. the signs are constant yawning, goose bumps on flesh, tears coming from the eyes and chronic fatigue, lastly constant diarrhea. I think your wife definitely has a problem.
Avatar f tn EXTREMELY common and TOTALLY normal -- why do you think Oxy's are schedule TWO! the neat thing is this is totally fixable. Obviously, the pain management system you are a part of does NOT work. You've cleverly manipulated the pain management system to bring you where you are now. the only thing that will change by going to a different doctor or clinic will be the parking space. So think for a second.... where's the solution (there's a solution to *everything*).
Avatar n tn I had the same thing happen to me when I was 21 weeks pregnant. the pain was unbearable! It turned out to be an ovarian cyst that stayed there through my whole pregnancy, but is fine now (4 weeks post partum). I was on percocet and darvocet for the pain and my little guy came out a healthy, happy 7lbs, 5 oz!
Avatar n tn Snorting medicine that is to be taking orally is abusing the meds. Whats funny is my story starts out the same as your daughters. Bad accident. 50+mph rear end accident and my neck get messed up. Its a crappy dead end road with drugs regardless of the pain. You don't become a addict over night. Nor do you become diabetic over night. Its a gradual movement that once you have had enough, your done for. Just by her sniffing them gives you more then clear evidence really that shes after the high.
Avatar m tn Narcotics also would get my heart racing. I had to take Halcion, Tramadol, and antihistamines at the same time to make myself sleepy.
Avatar n tn I NEVER WANT TO BE A SLAVE AGAIN......another thing is SEX is WONDERFUL AGAIN! LOL...... and I am the one who is lucky to have my wife. I have been blessed to have a family who loves me unconditionally and now knowing what I put them through, I will never do that to them again...That thought by itself is enough to stay a warrior in the face of the "Dragon".
1510084 tn?1291828540 This website is great and is also the reason I came clean to my Boyfriend, family, and work almost 2 months ago. I also relapsed after having 3 years opiate free, and while everyone was shocked and upset at first, when everything calmed down they helped and continue to help me with my sobriety. Except for my work of course, they fired me! LOL You sound very prepared for the withdrawals, I just want to send some encouragement your way. You did it before and can do it again...
Avatar m tn many woman take these meds for pain while pregnant and it is safer for the baby to not go through detox than it is to stay on the meds and have the docs deal with any minimal discomfort the baby may have after delivery. It is not 100% that the baby will be addicted..
Avatar m tn I'm on day 4 wd from 3 times a day oxycodone and it's a nightmare the worst thing is the rls my legs are driving me crazy and this is day 3 of no sleep, I go to bed lay there for 15 minutes and there go my legs and I got to get up. I went cold turkey, not sure I done right?? When do I get to sleep??
Avatar f tn One thing I have not see anyone say about the differences in hydrocodone and oxycodone is that hydrocodone is schedule III while oxycodone is a scheduled II......
Avatar f tn Well, percocets is oxycodone and vicodin is hydrocodone....I am pretty sure percs are stronger than the vics. they are both made with tylenol as well and also come with different brand names but are the same generic ingredients.... hope that helps some.
Avatar f tn You can always call your pharmacist and they can also address your concerns but based on experience from taking these types of medications long term, you are most likely okay and the headache may be unrelated to the percocet. Lastly, the one thing you do want to be careful with is mixing alcohol with the percocet as the acetaminophen combined with alcohol can cause severe liver problems and even liver failure if the two are mixed on a regular basis. I hope your headache gets better soon.
