milk

Avatar f tn I don't really eat meat anymore I always try to serve myself some and end up eating around it I make 19 weeks tomorrow. I drink lots of milk so I get my protein from there. I don't think its a bad thing.
Avatar n tn Thank You for the information.
Avatar f tn No..
Avatar f tn The good news is, soy milk is healthy, cheap, and easy to find and use. The bad news is...well, there really is no bad news! From a nutritional perspective, soy milk has almost as much protein as dairy milk, less fat, no cholesterol, and, since most soy milks are fortified, is a comparable source of calcium. but tell her she should make sure to find a brand that is fortified with Vitamin B12.
Avatar n tn Mylanta worked alright for me. Also small frequent meals which are lower in fat/protein/spice.
Avatar f tn I don't know if that's really possible. I don't think your body will give the baby more than it needs. And your body won't use more than it needs. Like my 4 year old downed an entire brand new bottle of vitamins the other day and he didn't even get sick. Milk is usually good for getting rid of heartburn. And if you don't like it you could try silk.
Avatar f tn s Disease, a form of hypothyroid autoimmune disease, can have bad reactions to soy. Soy milk is fine, tofu is fine, tempeh and other fermented soy products such as miso and natto and real soy sauce (this doesn't mean Kikkoman) are fine, fresh soy beans (edamame) are fine, but this shouldn't obviously be the sum total of your diet. All legumes have positive qualities, are good sources of protein and fiber. And remember, all soy milk isn't created equally.
Avatar f tn I'm so glad that you all have informed me that your baby weighed about the same and that at 31 weeks it's 3.3. They honestly made me think she is way too small and I have stressed it all day!
973741 tn?1342342773 As for oxidized cholesterol, I learned about this from The Nutrition Diva Podcast, an episode about whether powdered milk is bad for you, and it was explained as the oxidized cholesterol can irritate blood vessels and form plaques, leading to blood vessel blockage and increased risk of stroke or heart attack. Oxidized cholesterol can also initiate oxidation of other cholesterol molecules, leading to a chain reaction and formation of more oxidized cholesterol.
Avatar m tn Add dry milk to oatmeal, mashed potatoes, gravies, creamed vegetables, and creamed soups (add additional meats to soups) for additional protein and calories. Suggest giving him Pediasure, or milkshakes (milk and ice cream blended), or yogurt smoothies (yogurt and ice cream blended) in place of milk/fluids at meals and snacks. You can add fruit to the shakes/smoothies for additional vitamins and minerals, if he accepts. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar f tn (Im not pregnant yet) we are jst tryin to decide whether to try for no2 or wait if this allergy is facing us again!!!! Help!
Avatar f tn Whey protein powder is better.
Avatar m tn I am concerned about this and wish to remove her from soy and try almond milk (she has no tree nut allergies). My concern is almond milk has very little protein. What should I give her to provide her with enough protein that cow's milk has? Do I give her protein pills? Are there any side effects of almond milk?
Avatar f tn Whey protein itself is generally good for pregnant women, however ready made protein shakes can contain additives and preservatives that aren't so good for momma and/or baby.
Avatar m tn The biggest fear often expressed about whey protein intake is that too much protein isbad for the kidneys.” Research though has shown this is not true at all in healthy individuals. For those with known kidney disease, high protein diets can exacerbate pre-existing conditions. Healthy individuals, without any underlying or unknown kidney disease have nothing to worry about with higher intakes of protein.
Avatar f tn Until you know about potassium, you need to add salt and if you feel bad, go for salt (but avoid potassium loaded foods like bananas etc) as sodium and potassium take care of themselves. Eat pickles or buy non-buffered salt tablets (the buffered ones are buffered with potassium!) to lower your heart rate. You may want to change doctors to find a doctor who can help you more. You may also want to see a cardiologist too.

Avatar n tn Her weight is below the 3rd percentile and her height is on the 10th percentile for her age. She is underweight; however, her height is good. As a guideline for a 14-24 month old child should eat the following: Dairy 4 feedings a day –Milk or breast milk (4oz), cheese (½ oz), yogurt (½ cup), or cottage cheese (¼ cup). Starch 4 feedings a day – Cereal (¼ cup), pasta (¼ cup), rice (¼ cup), bread (½ slice), or crackers (2).
Avatar f tn For a nine year old, this is complicated. Goat's milk is milk, and though it's easier on the human body than cow's milk, it's still milk, so the question is why milk is being discontinued. A lactose intolerant person might very well still be lactose intolerant to goat's milk, for example, but someone who has digestive problems with cow's milk might not with goat's milk. There's also a taste issue.
Avatar f tn I heard body by vi is healthy for pregnant women...but idk. It still creeps me out. I would say go with your gut. I like how kd97229 makes them-- with soymilk. It's way better for you and you know exactly what's going into your smoothie or shake. Powdered stuff is filled with questionable crap that I would only take at my own risk...not my baby's too. But it could be worth it to take a trip to GNC and ask them there?
