194838 tn?1303428544 Hi, I am taking Glucophage (slow release Metformin) and have just been prescribed Januvia to take also. I have had stomach pains and upset stomach since being on them, the plus side is that I have lost weight so am very happy about that but wondered if anyone else has experienced the stomach pain and if so how long did it take for it to subside. If anyone has any advice etc I would be so grateful.
Avatar n tn I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?
Avatar f tn I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.
Avatar n tn i m asking as haw the use of sitaglipin help in conlrolling the sugar levels.
Avatar n tn Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?
721243 tn?1230573586 Januvia is a good medication, although it may not be enough to bring your glucose levels under good control given that your A1C is so high. Insulin is one of the options and it is a good one because it works. Using needles is not something people prefer, but if it makes you healthy in the long run it is much better than the alternative Still, there are many other medications that can be taken by mouth besides Januvia, so you may not need insulin just yet.

Avatar n tn I want to know if it will do harm to take both menications can i take januvia for diabetic and phentermine at the same time or will i get a reaction to the medication
Avatar m tn i am losing my insurance so i cant take januvia. What should i take?
Icecream So here is the thing been diabetic for you a few months now and i have been through alot of pills and my doctor hasn't keeps upping them i seen him today and he gave me insulin to take.. but he still wants me to take all the pills is it to much it would be 1000mg metformin 2x a day 100mg januvia a day 4mg glilmapride 2x a day 20units of lantus this seems like so much what do you all think?
Avatar f tn But if she has been Type 2 for many years, been tried on different meds and still has high blood sugars there is a possibility she is no longer producing enough of her own insulin and may have to be put on insulin. A test called a c-peptide could determine how much insulin she is still making, but her doctor would know her history as I described above and have a good idea if insulin is now called for.
Avatar n tn I take daily Glucophage 500 x 2, Januvia 100, Actos 30 (newly prescribed), Lisinopril 40, Amlodopine 10 (newly prescribed), and HCTZ 25. What do you think is the cause of my pain? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Byeta worked great for me - lost 40 lbs on it the first time. Then it went to a higher tier on my Medicare plan and I could not afford it. Tried manufacturer website for help but I did not qualify. Is there anything out there? $860 is too high for 3 months supply -- and that's not counting the donut hole price.
Avatar f tn While E-33 is indeed bactricidal, it is also corrosive and will cause deterioration of a wound and a chemical burn. The individual who approved this protocol shoiuld be criminally charged and dismissed. You have a situation requiring immediate action and intervention. The use of E-33 for diabetic wound care is not acceptable nursing home practice.
194838 tn?1303428544 Hi, I recently posted about severe side effects I was experiencing with the drug Januvia , I had severe stomach pains and sore throat. My doctor has now prescribed Galvus and said they are from the same family as Januvia. Has anybody tried this drug? if so did you experience any side effects ,especially stomach pains? . It may sound stupid but I am a little scared to take Galvus after what happened before.
Avatar n tn Plus you could discuss changing meds. BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c ombines Metformin and Januvia. This may be helpful to you as well.
Avatar n tn I take metformin 500mg twice a day & Januvia 100mg at bedtime. I was diagnosed type 2, about month & half ago. I take multivitiamins during day. At bedtime I take the min amount of magnesium & potassium (for night leg cramps) & aloe vera in a half glass of protien shake. For days now, I have had diarrehia. My morning fastings numbers are 95-110, now, for days, but now my day numbers have jumped to 135-138, just today, after having diarrehia for a few days.
Avatar n tn I am Type ll diabetic taking metformin & Januvia. My levels are climbing and the Dr. is considering insulin for me. I do not want to be insulin dependent. Trying to lower with diet changes but have other health issues that restrict what I can eat. I have high cholesterol (can't take any statin drugs to lower), diverticulosis, irritable bowel, fibromyalgia and now a mouth full of braces so am unable to eat many things because my teeth do not hit together to chew.
