glucose

1118724 tn?1357010591 Electrolytes Sodium Potassium CO2 (carbon dioxide, bicarbonate) Chloride The concentrations of sodium and potassium are tightly regulated by the body as is the balance between the four molecules. Electrolyte (and acid-base) imbalances can be present with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses. Chloride and CO2 tests are rarely ordered by themselves. Kidney Tests BUN (blood urea nitrogen) Creatinine BUN and creatinine are waste products filtered out of the blood by the kidneys.
Avatar m tn Sorry, that was 6.2 mmol/L which is 125 in USA units.
Avatar f tn I also got a glucose meter and tested, and mine actually is low at times, even though I have absolutely no signs of diabetes whatsoever, so that's not a bad idea. I wasn't aware other people have this problem. If the midodrine helps, you might consider taking it through the night. I know this causes doctors to have hairy conniptions, but it's what I do. My BP drops drastically when I don't move around, and it's even worse when I relax to sleep.
Avatar m tn I am guessing it starts or is the worst right in the back of your head where the neck and head meet?
Avatar n tn Hello, all. I am an eighteen-year old female. For last few months (perhaps four?), I've been experiencing some really weird symptoms and we're not quite sure why. Every couple of days, I have spells of sudden onset, extreme fatigue and exhaustion, accompanied with generalized weakness, some dizziness, a headache, and general malaise. The episodes do not seem to be triggered by anything specific and happen almost any time of day, though more often in the afternoons and evenings.
Avatar n tn The ER doctor can prescribe an emergency RX order to fill in for the wait period. Glucose ranges above 400 is dangerous and mid 500 is very dangerous, close to electrolyte imbalance.
Avatar f tn My son is 9 and he got dizzy today so I checked his blood sugar, (I have a glucometer from when i was pregnant with my youngest one) I did the test for the control it was 94 and my sons was 164 I waited until 2 hours of no food drink at least (closer to 2 1/2) and checked it again and it's 168. I'm worried about this. I am going to check it again in a few minutes when it's been an hour after dinner but what should it be 1 hour after eating? and how bad is this?
1422878 tn?1284584593 ok my main concern is diabetes....but i just got the results. and everything looked normal. i was wondering if i should monitor my blood glucose? and ill go to the doctor, and get tests done.
Avatar m tn So I ask, why and how does drinking plenty of water throughout the day (some say 2-4 liters) help with weight loss? What is the science behind it and the basic (in lamense terms) answer behind it?
Avatar m tn What is "was 126 ( 7.00 mol/lit.)"? Normally mol/lit used to measure electrolyte secretion during a fasting. For glucose, the European standard is mmol/l [lower case L's] as to where 7 mmol/l is consider above normal [high being 6.1 mmol/l] - diabetes not being controlled. Over time you will need to make medication adjustments to compensate for your above normal glucose range.
1310148 tn?1273684199 Last auguest28, 2010 I have checked his sodium and potasium level and I found that is hyponatrimic and his na+ level is on 116. I have tried all suggestion from here dr in india as it on my place. But still his na+ level is not coming at normal level. Presently his na level is 123 mmol/l. he is taking orally 5-8 gm pure salt in water. some more deatils: weight 100 kg obese liver and kidney function test is right. cbc reports are normal.
Avatar m tn Prior to my trip to Europe this summer, I had been binge drinking evey weekend for 2 years, and I wasn't drinking water in between drinks. I wasn't drinking the daily recommended amount of water throughout the day either. This summer in Europe, I had happened to binge drink the first 2 nights with red bull/vodka, both major diuretics. I hadn't drank any water in between drinks and ended up dehydrating myself majorly. I was very delusional and depressed.
541196 tn?1293552936 I have no idea the cause, so I will throw a few things out there that have been going on and I am unsure if they are related. Not sure which of my dr's to see for it either without looking dumb or being misdiagnosed. I have mild endometriosis and I often have cysts and when not on birth control to control these things, I also have severe pain at the time of ovulation. Recently (a month ago) I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes.
Avatar f tn Last night was so much better and so far so good today. I have been researching like crazy and have concluded that in order to have electrolytes in balance I need to nix the supplements and just have a lot of freshly juiced juices and raw celery, tomatoes, etc...
Avatar m tn I took a glucose fasting test and it came out normal. Then after 2 hours I drank a glucola and took another glucose test, then my sugar level went pretty high. Doctors then diagnose me with Pre-diabetes and they think that it's turning into type 1, because I don't have a diet problem. I'm still not 100% sure, if what my doctors think is accurate!
Avatar n tn 2 I suffer from fatigue and shortness of breath. Are these two related? Why are my NA, CL and CO2 so high?
Avatar m tn I read somewhere that D-Ribose helps with fatigue, and to my surprise, it actually does. This is my 4th day on it and I can def. notice a slight difference already. My question is, could I have some sort of glucose deficiency? (Maybe overactive pancreas producing insulin?) Because, immediately after i take my ribose, my cognition and brain fog immediately vanishes, and I can concentrate and study with an immense improvement.
Avatar n tn It is Sunday and do you think I could go to an ER or walk in center with medical literature supporting the need to check these micronutrients? I don't think the medical community is aware enough of this complication. I am also a nurse.
Avatar m tn Ill start with Q1: causes of the arrest. Based on history this could be related to electrolytes absolutely. It could also have been septic shock or an occult bleed based on the history. Respiratory (Hypoxia) is another option. Serum Lactate Values would be of interest here as would be a blood glucose. Or even just a blanket panel of every lab we have a name for would be fine tbh. Q2- Probably absolutely nothing.
Avatar f tn You could try Gatorade or Sprite. Your electrolytes may be out of wack! Sometimes when you salt intake is too much it'll make you thirsty and excessive water intake only makes it worse.
Avatar n tn Hence it is important to consult an ENT specialist and a neurologist too. At times back and neck problems may persist for years before they really start giving trouble. Chances of TMJ too should be looked into.
1147725 tn?1261600256 1) and Glucose was high (122). Also my white blood count was high in all aspects. Im 26 years old Male and i am a bit over weight. I am trying to figure out what is going on.
