Avatar m tn i just want to ask if there some side effects of the medicine that i am taking, fexofenadine?? another thing is for 1 week now my hives just gone, is there a possibility it will appear again?
Avatar n tn Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
Avatar n tn I have been breakin out in hives for over a year now. It started on the nape of my neck as tiny white bumps, it has now turned into red hives that itch and now has spread to my trunk and upper legs and arms. A biopsy was done of one of the hives and it came back unidentified. i have been taking fexofenadine and use triamcinolonne acetonide cream but nothing seems to help. I cant sleep or sit still. I scratch until i bleed and then the hives turn into little scabs all over my body.
Avatar m tn I cant see a doc personally untill monday noon. I can live with the itch and hives but the cough and breathing issue is making my life hell..
Avatar f tn I have scabs all over my body which are itchy. The itch is intense and even more so when I rub the skin. The skin gets red around the scabs at the end of the day. Taking a shower is an ordeal. It's really hard not to scratch and so I just rub the scabs but there's no relief. They are spreading and there's nothing working. I mean the creams against itchiness work when I apply them but the scabs are not getting less itchy nor less small afterwards.
Avatar n tn The mainstay of treatment of hives is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged periods (in excess of 6 weeks). Double conventional doses of these non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine, Loratadine, Acrivastine and Fexofenadine may be needed to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine or Hydroxyzine are used at night to get urticaria control.
Avatar n tn I have had a rash like small hives around the neck and upper chest, very itchy I have gone to the doctor several times and have gotten steroid injections and have only helped for a week and then its back, currently he put me on Predisone 40 mg and have tappered to 5mg and now the rash is back. It seems to surface at night and I noticed that I am real sweaty at night not to mention very itchy. I do have Rheumtoid Arthritis. Could there be a connection?

2127744 tn?1335367748 It is difficult to understand what it is like to have hives show up on your skin because you showered and how hard is it on a child who can not hang out at the beach with friends or go swimming at the local pool? There needs to be an end to all the misleading information online and the people who completely dismiss that it is possible to be "allergic" to water are unbelievably ignorant in the things that they say. I pray it never happens to any of them or someone that they love.

Avatar m tn I had lots of tests done (blood, liver, kidneys, IgE, cholesterol) everything was good. I started taking fexofenadine 180mg per day with no results for about a week. Also took benadryl for a week with no results. I then changed to betametasone 0.6mg + desloratadine, 2 per day for three days then 1 per day for 3 days, which made the itching go away about the third day but came back soon after the fifth day while taking it. I went to see my allergist.

Avatar n tn 120mg) to have for one month. My course ends round about 25 september 2011. My nose blockage is getting better (one nasal passage is open most of the time) but I have also developed slight phelgm in my throat (i.e throat mucus). Should I be concerned and what should I do ???
Avatar m tn Here in Australia it is spring time and the pollen count is through the roof. As a result I am suffering from hayfever/asthma and typically do each year from 20 October to 20 November and pretty much to those dates. At 34/63 weeks on tx it certainly is adding an extra dimension to my sx's but still upright. I have found it necessary to take 180mg of 'fexofenadine hydrochloride' an anti-hystermine I guess.
Avatar m tn You only need to take one Fexofenadine for the whole day, which is useful. Clarityn is another non-sedating antihistamine that you only need to take once a day.
