Avatar f tn Have got a skin infection on my genital it seen to be eczema i think. Please is it contagious if i have sex with my girfriend???
Avatar f tn If it's a type of eczema, what he eats will make a difference. I have a different type of eczema, but the strategies will be the same. Google "eczema diet" or "what not to eat with eczema". Also, it matters what the skin comes into contact with. He may be allergic to sulfites. Check out the allergy community and look for the thread called "what else contains sulfites". There are some links within the thread for you to consider.
Avatar n tn Hello, Lichen Simplex Chronicus is seen in people with eczema. It is non contagious. It is treated like chronic eczema by decreasing water and soap contact, and applying emollients. Topical steroids are almost always needed to control the symptoms. You can use mild steroid cream like Dermacort and if the symptoms persist then high potency steroids and oral steroids may be needed. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed.
Avatar n tn yea we switch soaps and same thing eczema?
Avatar n tn I meant to put a question mark after dyshidrotic eczema...I dont know if thats what it is...doctors have always just said eczema...never specified a type..
Avatar m tn Hello, Such kind of symptoms can be due to eczema skin like nummular dermatitis or due to dermatitis skin. If the lesion is itchy then it can be due to ringworm. From the description(dry, red, circular ), it seems like nummular dermatitis but exact confirmation has to be done first. Steroids prescribed in nummular dermatitis can worsen the symptoms if it is ringworm.
Avatar m tn The Tenia is a fungus, which is not contagious. It happens on anyone, and is easily treated with Selson Shampoo. Or any dandruff shampoo that indicates on the bottle that it can be used for Tenia. You should speak with your doctor, to make sure this is what it is. You can also speak with a pharmacist who can suggest with shampoo you can use on those spots. When you use the shampoo, lather it on the area for two minutes then rinse. Hopefully this should help.
Avatar n tn It is true that scabies affects the fingers and webspaces but it is highly contagious and causes an intense itching sensation caused by an allergic response. Since your wife is not having any such symptoms and there is no intense itching as symptom, it is less likely to be due to scabies. The first stage of pompholyx shows tiny blisters (vesicles) deep in the skin of the palms, fingers, instep or toes. The blisters are often itchy or have a burning feeling.
Avatar m tn m not sure, but it sounds like eczema. Did you know that eczema is exasperated by both what you eat and what you expose your skin to? I used to get giant blisters about an inch in diameter myself. It was a combination of two things affecting the eczema: gluten intolerance that might or might not be Celiac. I was also reacting to the kind of dish detergent I was using. I stopped gluten and switched to Seventh Generation fragrance free dish liquid.
Avatar f tn Ive had eczema since i was a child as well and ive never heard of it leading to herpes. Eczema is not contagious. Was your boyfriend a virgin when you had sex? He could be a carrier, showing no symptoms.
Avatar m tn I had this itchyness and rash begin about 2 weeks ago, it began at the back of my scalp, then spread down the sides of my neck, now it's on my upper back, shoulders, and it is extremely bad on my forearms. I've scratched so bad that I have caused sores on my forearms. I went to see the doctor, and he gave me Betaderm Cream, because I do have an history of eczema. It works with the soothing of the itch somewhat, but the rash is still getting worse, it drives me crazy all this itching.
Avatar f tn It it likely eczema. It's not contagious but it is VERY itchy. Go to a clinic and ask for a cream with cortisone.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to MedHelp. It sounds like the eczema my kids had when they were little. I suggest that you see your doctor for an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. In the mean time, try to clean it very gently and pat dry. Let us know what your doctor says. God bless.
Avatar m tn If you don't think that this is just varying skin pigmentation, you should get this checked out. It can't be an std, and without itching, or peeling/flaky/dry skin, its probably not a fungal infection. Maybe its dermatitis, eczema, etc.
Avatar m tn We think he may have spread it cause another is forming. Is cellulitis contagious if there is a boil not just a rash? What if I sat where he did and placed my arm with a scab where he placed his boil arm? How so is it contagious? I read it's not because it is in the deeper skin layer but i mean...he had a boil that is at the upper layer. Could he have been misdiagnosed?
Avatar n tn After scratching skin becomes a bit moist in patches or bruise. I don’t think it can be anything contagious like ring worm as it is equally occurring in winters. Can I go for any test to confirm?. Can dermatitis be contagious and in what way ?.
Avatar f tn I started dating my boyfriend, and a few weeks after having unprotected sex, we both started to develop small, fluid like pimples in between our fingers. He was a virgin, and I always practice safe sex. These bumps were accompanied by a rash between my thighs and arms. From my research it seems like Dyshidrotic eczema, but that isn't contagious, and find it weird that both of us had the same thing. Im wondering what this could be.
1733934 tn?1310366305 You should see a dermatologist with this. I am not sure what it is- it does not look like eczema from the picture. It is possible that it is a cold sore, but I cannot be sure. In the meantime, treat it like it is contagious and be sure to wash your hands frequently to prevent spreading it. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Atopic dermatitis, a form of eczema, is a non-contagious disorder characterized by chronically inflamed skin and sometimes intolerable itching. An individual is more at-risk for developing the condition if there is a personal or family history of atopic dermatitis, hay fever, asthma, or other allergies.
