Is drinking diabetic blood dangerous

Common Questions and Answers about Is drinking diabetic blood dangerous

diabetes

Avatar n tn If you think you must drink, drinking in moderation is always a wise choice, diabetic or not. There are a few low carb beers, for example, that would make good beverage choices, and monitor your blood sugars more often. If you have more questions about this topic, your endocrinologist/diabetes specialist can provide more medical knowledge on the effects.
Avatar f tn Blood is mostly made up from water and so a good starting point is to eliminate dehydration, which of course can become dangerous if not resolved. Make sure your Mother is drinking plenty of fluids to keep her blood pressure up and stable. When dehydration occurs the body does try to compensate by constricting blood vessels, increasing heart rate, but this can only work so much because when you need more oxygen for walking etc, the vessels must open again, dropping the pressure.
Avatar m tn I agree with WaveRider! Your sugar is not controlled and you need to find out why? Are you eating correctly, exercising, avoiding stress? Never stop taking your insulin, this is very dangerous! I know I'm repeating a lot of what WaveRider said, but you need to get serious with your meds, diet and exercise. Good luck and best wishes.
Avatar f tn The best advice I can give is that you abstain entirely from drinking alcoholic beverages, until this issue is accurately diagnosed.
Avatar f tn I agree that you should have your blood sugar checked; then if it is fine you can have the doctor consider other reasons for how you are feeling. If you do have diabetes, it is a manageable condition, so learn all you can about it.
Avatar f tn Please tell me how to lower my t3 levels. I also have lost all enamel on teeth, and have become pre-diabetic with high blood sugar levels . The intense sweating & insomnia is the worst.
Avatar n tn If your blood glucose level is falling, you can quickly wind up with very low blood sugar. This is why drinking on an empty stomach can lead to very low blood sugar. Alcohol can cause low blood sugar for up to 12 hours after drinking. All kinds of factors can throw off your blood sugar with unpleasant and sometimes dangerous consequences.
Avatar f tn m 34 yrs old, been diabetic for 12 yrs now... drinking alcohol will help shut down his kidney alot faster. is your friend on oral medications for his diabetes or insulin taking shots. It sound like he's in great denial about the diabetes all together and may want to get a good team of doctors, and nutristionist, and othe people together for support. But you have the need to be scared for your friend, i was in denial for almost 7 yrs.
Avatar n tn Hi, You are only 23! I am really sorry for your condition at this early age! If you have been drinking soda, 2 cans a day for the last 10 years, like most young Americans these days. Then I think you are type 2 Diabetic. Your condition is extremely dangerous, if you don't have any insurance, I would show up at a nearby emergency room for treatment, better than doing nothing.
Avatar n tn His thought process decision making process is declining (not dangerous but noticeable) His blood pressure is currently generally controlled with medication. His bi-polar is being treated with abilify, which is working better than anything else to date. He had some moderate drug experimentation when he was younger, which was a qualifier for an experimental bi-polar program involving a type of methadone treatment that the state medical is paying for....
Avatar f tn The high blood sugar causes severe dehydration. This condition can progress very rapidly once started. Blood sugar of 600 is highly dangerous and if not treated quite quickly will be fatal. For the rest, we cannot answer. He would not have felt anything once he was already unconscious. I hope you find peace.

Avatar n tn The cold fact about pre-diabetic 2 is like a little pregnant, you will become a full blown diabetic 2 in 2, 6.. years from now. It depends on what foods , what drinks you will consume. If I were you, I would read this book:Diabetes Solution by DR. Richard Beirstein. It will tell what foods to avoid..and follow his rule:(6,12,12) Please read my previous posts, you will find out low-carb foods you can buy at Walmart these days..
Avatar m tn My boyfriend didnt have to take any medications for his blood sugar( being diabetic),then a DR. gave him predisone and his blood sugar went to 496,we went to another er & they gave him 8 units of insulin via iv drip.A few hrs after this then went back up to 300 -400 again. This was 2 1/2 wks ago-also ER DR put him on glucophage 500mg bid, which has not helped.his blood sugars are still ranging between 200 to 400.
Avatar f tn Drinking alcohol while you are pregnant is really not a good idea at all! It can cause harm to your baby's development and may lead to long-term problems after birth. When you drink alcohol, the alcohol travels through your blood stream and into the baby's blood and breaks down much more slowly in the baby's body than in an adult. That means the baby's blood alcohol level remains increased longer than the mother's.
Avatar n tn About low blood pressure 508,pulse32.fainting lose of bowels. There is a close friend of mine she has this that happen to her .Every time she sit up for about 30min her blood pressure would drop. She will faint and lose control of her bowl.
Avatar n tn Hi there I have had 13 years of dealing with IDDM and have found that initially alcohol lowers blood sugar but later as the ethanol is converted into glucose , BSL rises usually whilst asleep after drinking. Spirits are better than beer as beer has too many carbs. However dry wine I feel is the best. Here in Australia we are advised that 4 standard drinks should be the limit but most people say that if 4 is OK then 6 or 8 must be even better!!Good luck .
Avatar n tn The severity of both depends on how well the patient controls their blood sugar levels after diagnosis. The type 1 diabetic has a more damaged pancreas than the type 2 diabetic person, but both are equally responsible for controlling their glucose levels, and how well they do that is what ends up defining their overall health. If either one lets glucose levels run high, then complications such as kidney damage or eye damage or nerve damage can happen.
Avatar m tn Your mother's blood pressure is in the high range of low blood pressure. If and when it gets to about 50/33 it is considered dangerous. Regarding sepsis most individuals survive severe sepsis and recover completely and their lives return to normal and hopefully there is no permanent kidney damage. Sometimes drinking 5 to 7 glasses of water per day can help normalize blood pressure and heart rate.
Avatar f tn how she phrased it sounded dangerous to me and baby. I have been diagnosed with hyperemesis, is that part of the cause? is there a lot of danger to my baby?
Avatar f tn constant fatigue, lightheaded.. etc. My husbands grandmother (a type 2 diabetic for many years) decided to check my blood sugar levels with the little monitor thing.. (sorry, I'm not even sure what its called) It said my level was 155. Could something have affected this like food I ate that day, or should I truly be concerned. She looked at me with this look that absolutely terrified me.
