Is ammonia gas an acid

Common Questions and Answers about Is ammonia gas an acid

ammonia

Avatar f tn The radiation that comes from the sun is electromagnetic energy. Gas is not radiation but just airborne molecules. Electromagnetic energy is different from Matter so have different properties. Most people know this. This idea has been brought up again and again despite all the evidence in this universe is against it so I’m curious whether you’re trolling or not? If you’re honest about not understanding the difference, then I can continue to discuss.
886699 tn?1270779744 This is a natural sensitivity to smelling someone’s acidity/alkaline levels. I smell this too on random people or my loved ones, or even myself (rarely because I know what to do now). It’s literally a super power level of being in touch with sense. My girlfriend knows when I smell it on her & she’ll quickly go eat some greens & alkaline foods... typically in 2-3 hours (depending on how your body processes food) it’ll be gone. It’s a sign to go get alkaline...
Avatar f tn This could indicate a health problem, or it could simply mean that you are dehydrated. It is also possible that, if the concentration of ammonia is high enough, chlorine gas will form. If it starts to give off a strong odour and your eyes are burning, flush it and open a window or turn on the ventilation fan immediately, then get out of the room. Chlorine gas is highly toxic.

Avatar f tn I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.
Avatar n tn Urine has ammonia in it. Ammonia mixed with bleach makes a VERY toxic gas.
Avatar n tn We discovered that my husband had an episode of Encephalopathy, which is high ammonia in the blood. But by the time we had his blood checked his levels were right smack in the middle of the range. Doctor said he was fine. So my question is can this ammonia gone untreated continue to rise and lower on its own. Because he has days that he seems fine and then days when he is not with me completely. He does not eat much as his taste buds are totally out of wack. Most foods taste very salty.
Avatar f tn When the liver is struggling it can’t convert protein properly and it ends up as ammonia that passes out into the blood stream and makes our body toxic. Ammonia is an irritant that causes dry throats, coughing, sneezing etc. This theory ties up with people who have stopped eating protein and moved to a plant based diet, giving up alcohol which damages the liver, and more recently someone saying tamarind had helped them. Just a thought that this could be worth further investigation.
Avatar m tn this is helpful because TMA is an actual gas, I theorize that it is highly alkaline, like oven cleaner. It is not too expensive and you will feel some victory in knowing that there is an actual reason for people's reactions. You may also want to invest in getting a DNA-level comprehensive stool analysis, the PCR one. This is alittle more money than the TMAU test, but also worth it.
1481758 tn?1287638643 Every heart attack is different, so I believe. But it could be just different descriptions from people about the same symptom for all I know. Numb hands & feet, cold tingle, not sure about upset stomach, shacking, all don't sound like a heart attack and in fact the tight chest is the only one that is. I'd assume they drew blood which is probably where they got the ammonia idea.
Avatar n tn There is more than one variety, and a specialist is needed to determine the specific type. Generally ammonia will destroy this kind of mold. I know people recommend other liquids, but ammonia is the way to go. Before using the ammonia the room should be "dewatered" with use of one of more dehumidifiers. These molds like moist places.
Avatar f tn ve taken is lactalose for my high ammonia levels _______________- Just to be clear Lactulose is not treatment for Hepatitis C. The way that statement is phrased it is a little unclear what you mean. ___________________ Waiting for my new tires to get installed and I wondered over here. I strongly encourage you to repost your question in the Hepatitis C Community as it is unlikely to get a decent response in this forum. ___________________ http://www.medhelp.
2167803 tn?1338529751 Hi Danial, I think this is what you looking for, the average ejaculate consists mostly of protein, citric acid, fructose (a complex sugar), sodium, and chloride. There are smaller amounts of ammonia, ascorbic acid, acid phosphatase, calcium, carbon dioxide, cholesterol, prostaglandins, creatine, other minerals, and numerous other chemicals.

Avatar f tn Another symptom the article gave was an ammonia smell in the nose. Someone commented once that they smelled ammonia. I truly believe this is the cause of my problems. Another thing that surprised me is that I remember taking pepto bismuth and it would make some difference. I read that pepto bismuth, activated charcoal and gas x are all good . I think I will follow a low sulphur diet and see if it helps. Joint pain is also a symptom which I do have and doctors has said it is not arthritis.
Avatar f tn Urinary bladder infection and kidney infections do produce strong smelling urine. Another reason is dehydration. Strong ammonia smell is due to protein breakdown. A routine urine examination along with a urine culture will be able to detect the problem. Drink plenty of fluids and water and see if that helps. Also if you are on crash diets etc then protein breakdown can cause an ammonia smell. Also diet rich in protein can be the cause.
Avatar f tn As far as the way you smell goes, I think it depends on what you eat. The more sugar or caffeine I consume the worse I effect other people. Like I said earlier, I'm not a doctor, and my kidneys are fine as well. But I have smelled an ammonia like smell coming off of myself and I've seen how others react to it, coughing and itching. I don't know the how's or why's, but this is one symptom of our condition. Of that, I am sure.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 53 year old male and my ammonia blood test just came back at 89 umol/L. I bellieve the normal range is 10-45. I'm also taking Valproic Acid (2500 mg/ day), Lamictal (300 mg/ day) and Dilantin (500 mg/day) for seizures. All my other blood tests are in range. Can anyone tell me if this is a dangerously high level, i.e., liver or kidney damaging?
Avatar f tn I heard it was the ammonia in windex so as long as u get the ammonia free u should be ok but id talk to my dr first
Avatar n tn It will depend on your ammonia levels which a blood test will reveal. You need to get to 3 good bowel movememnts a day to keep blood ammonia down, which is the largest cause of brain fog. If you treat for hep C with SOC you should also see a drop in this problem as your liver returns to normal function and enymes levels. The lactulose does work, but I prefer a good diet because the lactulose or Inulin both way make everyone very gas laden a bloated.....toot toot. .
Avatar f tn My advice is to speak with your doctor about your ammonia level and see what he/she thinks might be causing it. Ask about further testing. I would probably wait a few days to test if your doctor is OK with that.
Avatar f tn It could be silent reflux. Silent reflux is an acid reflux you don’t feel but it creates a buildup of mucus in your throat by keeping it from draining down your esophagus. I might try talking with a GI doctor. Or maybe try an OTC acid reflux medicine like Omeprazole.
Avatar f tn Discomfort in the chest like heartburn and also in the middle of the back? Is it gas?'if so what can I do to get relief?
Avatar n tn I've noticed that from time to time, but becoming more frequent, my urine has a strong ammonia smell. The color is fairly normal - clear to golden - but the smell is there! I don't have pain or burning while urinating nor do I go to the toilet more often than usual. So what can be the cause? Thanks for any ideas.
Avatar f tn here is a update ...the lab called up for ammonia results, saying a repeat measurement of the same sample gave ammonia count of 25 and not 135! Have to go to a repeat test tommorow. I presume that will change the picture!
Avatar f tn I take zantac 75 also&it has turned into my best friend. Like she said above it only gets worse.
