Irritated vulva

Common Questions and Answers about Irritated vulva

vagina

Avatar f tn When I got home that day I looked at my vagina using a mirror and noticed that parts of my vulva were swollen, specifically (and sorry for the TMI) on one side of the opening of the vagina, and running along in between the labia minora and majora (mostly on the right side). The pain was horrible, and the next day I rushed to my nearest PP for a check up (this was also my first time getting checked).
Avatar f tn After I noticed these, for 1-2 days, my vulva was very slightly irritated and had sort of a chafed feeling all over, not just where the redness was. The mild pain subsided, and I decided to examine myself. I found something that was rather alarming... I have these strange whitish/gray patches that cannot be washed off on the deepest folds of my inner labia, and well as in my vagina, it has sort of a whitish gray cast to it.
Avatar f tn MD states vulva irritated-perhaps secondary to cryofreeze; prescribes steroid ointment=no relief; labs- HSV 1=0.14; HSV 2= 0.04; IGM 1&2=0.46 -4/8 -Vulva burning persists; pelvic discomfort & heaviness; labs drawn at different lab; HIV=NEG; HSV 1=<0.90; HSV 2=<0.
Avatar n tn I have an irritated spot in the area of my vulva closest to my anus, and it is sore. Is bacitracin safe to use on it? Any recommendations?
Avatar f tn I had protected (condom) vaginal intercourse with a new partner a week ago and again two nights ago. The partner has not been tested for HSV but says he has never had any reason to believe he would be a carrier or at risk. The intercourse two nights ago was very rough and not enough lube was used. I was mildly sore and itchy yesterday, which I attributed to the rough sex and also from a yeast infection which I had treated a few days ago.
Avatar f tn woke up in tha middle of the night feeling irritated..so i went to take a shower and went back to bed...during the course of tht week i realised i was getting a yeast infection..but my clit was really irritated and red..it was kinda itchy but i thought it was cause of the yeast infection..but *sigh* the yeast infection went away but the itchy irritation stayed..i was sexually active at the time not too often though and always used a condom(durex:fuego) but that never happened when i had sex b4.
Avatar f tn If I had a yeast infection on my vulva, but I didn’t get the medicine on that specific part, could it still be irritated and affected by it? (Causing that cut) 3. What else could cause this? Any skin conditions or other infections? I’m going to the doctor soon, I just need some thoughts on what I’m going through. Haven’t talked to anyone about it, just been silently freaking out.
Avatar f tn 2 months ago I got an UTI and after I took cipro two weeks later I got these flesh colored bumps on the side of my vulva that aren’t painful and do not itch. Just annoying to feel it there and very insecure about it...they look like skin tags but not sure. Have had one sex partner consistently in the past 5 months but he has no symptoms anywhere. Is it irritation from the infections and uti? Or hpv bumps? It doesn’t look like herpes to me...how Can I get rid of them?
Avatar n tn Hi Doctor, For a while now I have been experiencing some discharge and irritation on my vulva/anal area. It is just on the outside and it's just slightly irritated with a clear/thickick discharge from vagina. I dont even feel it all the time just sometimes and it's definitely not horrible...just a little irritating. I feel like when I feel the irritation on my vulva I also feel my anus itching/irritated as well.
Avatar f tn go see you doctor ASAP before the bumps go away...
Avatar f tn On June 15th I had received oral sex and we also had protected sex. Approximately 2 weeks later my inner labia started to itch significantly. The itching subsided and just felt irritated down there. I didn't think much of it because sometimes my birthcontrol will cause this if I skip a pill or something. I also work out a lot. Then on July 10th I had unprotected sex. I still had felt somewhat irritated. But then on July 16th I started having low back pains and a pain in my neck.
Avatar f tn I have begun masturbating and am trying to stop. However, I am afraid I have somehow damaged my clitoris. 4 days ago I masturbated 8 times in one day, each time humping a pillow. I am afraid the constant rubbing has done harm to the area. The "lips" of the vulva will not close around the internal organs and they are extremely sensitive. I feel aroused like I should masturbate all the time.
Avatar f tn I had a swab done on my irritated area and had a PCR test done that was negative for Herpes 1 and 2. My vulva has been irritated for close to 5 weeks, not getting any worse but not getting any better. Feels like really raw and hurts very bad. However I have not had any bumps or apparent sores. I have now gone to 4 doctors all of whom say they see nothing wrong.. Could this be atypical herpes symptoms????
Avatar f tn So about a week ago I noticed this tan/brown mark on my groin/vulva area. It doesn't hurt or feel irritated at all but is causing me a lot of stress and anxiety. Like a "normal" teen I googled it and scared myself even more. I now want to go to the doctors but am anxious about that too so I can't see that happening. I want to believe its ringworm as I've got some on my neck and it would be a lot less stress full than a type of cancer. Extremely anxious...
Avatar f tn This happened to me a couple times and it ended up being blood from my vulva which was flustered and irritated due to hormones. I would get checked out by ur doctor. Rather be safe then sorry.
Avatar f tn 5 weeks ago I noticed that my vulva was a bit itchy and irritated (not severely but still noticeable). After a couple of days I started to google, which was probably a bad idea and herpes came up. I then began checking very regularly for blisters and bumps multiple times a day, likely further aggravating my vulva. I should mention that the itch began after my period, and just over 3 weeks after a sexual encounter (the first in about a year, with a condom and no oral).
Avatar f tn 5 weeks ago I began to get a shooting pain from what seems like my clitoris or clitoral hood. It was intensified by walking, sitting, moving around, etc. After a week of it getting worse, I went to 2 different doctors (different days) - had 2 swabs and urine samples taken, both came back negative for a yeast infection and bladder infection. Got sent for a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound, which came back normal too.
Avatar m tn hi and welcome. Once the itch started and you started scratching it the area has become irritated and does not heal do to more scratching. Try some Vagisil cream.
Avatar n tn I took a closer look at the area and it now seemed that the whole area outside the vulva was extremely dry and irritated and the outer labia looked dry and swollen (this rash outside the vulva did not itch at this point). I thought I might have had an allergic reaction to the antifungal cream - so I stopped using it. But unfortunately, this morning the rash is still there - and now it also itches intensely (much more than the actual vulva which almost seems fine right now).
Avatar f tn So I felt around and ended up finding a small bump on the left side of my vulva. Taking a hand mirror, I saw that it was fleshy and white colored but not sensitive at all to the touch. I also noticed that there was another one on the opposite side, almost mirroring it. There were no other bumps anywhere else. I decided to leave them be as I was not able to pop them. After 2 months of having them, one was gone and the other I was able to pop.
Avatar n tn I have been tested for all STDs and all are negative. I had a regular pap smear just a week ago. I am stumped, and uncomfortable, and getting desperate! Recently I noticed a small growth on the labia, just a pin-sized raised bit of skin that is a dark brown color. Also keep in mind the itching does affect the skin in the vaginal area. Could this be a skin condition? What about the burning? My vagina and vulva are constantly red, inflamed and irritated and I am getting concerned.

Avatar f tn have I irritated that part of my vulva from the chronic masturbation? Is it permanent? Are there any drugs or vitamin supplements I can take to make it normal again? Also, there are no organisations like Planned Parenthood or any women's health clinics or help for teens on sexual health in my country. There are also no gynecologists I could go to to.
Avatar n tn Cold sores are almost always hsv1. Having hsv1 orally yourself gives you significant protection from contracting hsv1 genitally thru oral sex. It's still best to not receive oral sex from anyone with an active cold sore prsent ( or to give it if you have one ) because it's an open portal into the body for bacteria as well as a risk. You've had vaginitis that was improperly treated for months.
Avatar m tn I have white blood cells in my urine which would suggest either infection or inflammation but when I get a urine test it comes back with no growth. I have had burning pain in my urethra which has irritated my vulva and also I have the urge to pee even after I just have finished. I am waiting for a referral to a urologist but am in constant pain while i wait to get an appointment. What could be causing this and is there anything I can do to decrease the pain?
Avatar n tn I notice tiny white (almost skin colored) bumps on both side near the top (near clitoris) and bottom (near vaginal opening) of my vulva. Kind of lining the outer edge of my inner lips. They seem mildly irritated but not particularly more so than the rest of me (still getting over yeast). Is this a normal part of my anatomy? I would hate to make an unnecessary doctor's appt. if I'm freaking out for no reason. Thanks!
